The pump does not control injection timing, injectors are opened by the ECU. No timing marks on pump pulley in relation to engine cranckshaft.

yes timing on a common rail is very important if your of by 1mm on the fly wheel you will have a hard time starting it and your pump will be shot after a month running it

do you know how it controles pressure.. i have one model that dosent have any sensors on the pump and one with?? difference?
