  • powerful speaker, goodjob !

  • @Kanoki989 "self-richeous" There's something strangely american about that appalling example of spelling.

  • @SummerHerald lol!

  • AMEN!

  • I don't know if children can make it in the world without both genders playing a role in their development.

  • @NYerintransit did you watch the video or did you just comment?

  • @NewGameReleases Please. I listen to nice-sounding speeches but I don't swallow everything that is said.

  • @NYerintransit i know people with gay parents and I wouldn't have ever known had they not told me. They're are indistinguishably normal

  • @NewGameReleases Do you want a medal?

  • @NYerintransit that would be swell

  • @NYerintransit So what about fathers who run away from their parental role? Leaving the mother to struggle and raise the child by herself. Should we just not allow people to have children so that there is no way that a child would be without two parents of opposite sex?

I think a child wondering why their father left them is way more damaging then having two loving parents of the same sex.

  • @lscizml I'm not going to indulge any of your bombastic arguments. Homosexuality is not the natural order of things. Men are for women and women are for men.

  • 22 homophobes dislike this

  • does anyone know how I can get the rights to use this video in a speech I am going to be giving in my public speaking course on gay marriage this semester. any information would be wonderful thank you

  • @Jackaypal00za Homosexualism? Lolol, wow. You're an idiot.

  • @Jackaypal00za You're the one who's diseased with hatred, now that is a real disease that we have to exterminate.

  • AMEN!!!!

  • He just kicked homophobic's asses.

  • I actually can't express the feeling I get when I watch this. THE best evidence you (sorry for the language) narrow-minded, self centred, egoistic SOBs you can get.

  • All right, time to add to favorites....

  • @istanbultravellers:

God's rules of reality govern what occurs in nature, and homosexuality is a part of that nature. Tolerance of same-sex relationships is how we extend the right to love and be loved romantically to our fellow human beings who happen to be gay. If anything, God would love those humans who try to make the world a better place for other humans, even if they happen to be different from themselves.

  • @istanbultravellers:

Actually, homosexuality HAS been observed in a large number of animal species. Are you not aware of this?

The evidence that we have about pychosexual differentation tells us that sexual orientation is NOT a matter of will. It is a behavioural configuration that is biologically and environmentally determined. According to a rational analysis of our scientific evidence, homosexuality represents an anomalous manifestation of this process.

  • @istanbultravellers:

Your religious argument is not based on reasoning, but rather your faith that a book written, edited, cropped, and translated by countless largely unidentified people over hundreds of years, is somehow the inerrant "Word of God" and the guide to reality. It's mostly only religious people who actually believe that homosexuality is either voluntary or "bad", and they rely on arbitrary religious dogma to back their claims rather than rational thinking.

  • Amazing, this world needs to respect the opinions and thoughts of every person, no one thinks the same way, this young man gave a really awesome speech targeting that. :) really proud of him.

  • He's only 19? Damn he's smart.

  • no sound : (

  • @michaeljacksonisnotd Every "argument" you've used is just one big fallacy. People like you are what makes me worry about America.

  • damn i would marry him

  • Just a point of clarification, Alaska has less amendments (both accepted and rejected), than Iowa by 1998. From one engineer to another, learn to count. Go gays!

  • Man his mom can pick a sperm donation. He is talk eloquently , nice face structure, talk. His father is from top stock.

  • Man, this kid ought to go to law school. This was compelling and very believable. He is articulate and well-heeled, brave and compassionate and believes to his core in what he is saying. There is no way to dispute his points. Excellent.

  • Hi's great!!!!

  • His great!!!

  • This guy is great.

  • @celena028 Why do you think homosexuality is a sin? I don't see that it's a sin at all. Love doesn't look gender. It's not such a big deal.

  • @Pantalaimonish perverts liek him ar ruin this country!@

  • @Pantalaimonish Because the Old Testament says that homosexuality is an abomination, blah blah blah. The same Old Testament that says that adulterers should be stoned to death and that women are supposed to cover their heads at all times. Yes, the Muslims took that one from the Old Testament.

  • love the women in the backround!

  • The pledge says: "Liberty and justice for all." But that doesn't seem to be true.

  • YEAHHHHH BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have tried to play this 10 times and my sound won't work. Does anybody know what is wrong?

  • @jujuturnipseed Sound seems to only be in the left audio channel on this video. If you have a pair of headphones, make sure your left ear is working.

  • 33 tell em! :)

  • @xLunaTransgenderGurl these people are sick, and ur gonna smell pardies if u keep sinful disgusting disease lifestyle, u should just please leave us alone stop destroying our society.

  • @AnonymousElektron Fuck you

  • @clemdoe no u

  • This was great. I give it an 8 out of 10. I think at the end it should have been REALLY quiet....then, one person starts to clap....then eventually two....then, finally, the whole crowd. Then, it would have been a 10 out of 10.

  • @ilovecocksism You're giving his speech a low score based on how the people clap? Wow. There's just no words for how dumb that is.

  • i didnt think much of this video at start. then i found it absurd when i saw some people call this video revolutionary. i continued reading some more comments.. the more is read, the more i understood why people call this revolutionary....

do you americans live in the 50's ? how is this even an issue.. for fuck sake. thought u were all for individual freedom

  • @lillskite How arrogant. I wish Europeans would just stop coming into American videos and acting self-richeous. Most European countries do NOT allow same-sex marriage nor do most allow gay adoptions (including most Western European).

  • Joey diamond sent me here

  • Awesome! Well said! Unfortunately ... the world isnt showing the equality .... You know there are some ppl, like my father who believe that it's against our nature ... and no matter what you tell him, no matter how correct everything is ... he wont change his mind till the rest of his life. It's silly but that's how it is, we could only fight for equality ... thats it

  • I wish everyone in the world could watch this....... Revolutionary:]

  • i have to find his parents so i can shake their hands.

    well done, ladies.

  • you have all my support !

  • it was wrong at the end... it should have been *slow clap crescendo to applause*

  • I cried.

  • If I was at that hearing and I was against gay marriage (which im not) but if I was this would have changed my mind

  • I would be proud to have that young man as my son!

  • 734 people are gay.

  • @ligita68 Duh! -_-'

  • STEVE JOBS! :D

  • theyre lucky they had him to defend the issue..go eaglescouts

  • An inspiration to every gay couple that are already married, and to those that want to get married but cannot due to religious/legislative reasons or just plain downright ignorance and bigotry. We are on the cusp of the year 2012 not 1912. The Mitt Romney's of this world should take note!

  • I've always known righteous straight people are so full of shit. "It takes a man a woman to raise a proper household. " Gee, really? Take a look at Charles Manson, Jeffrey Dahmer, that Mormon quack who molested 14 year old girls, his own daughters, and threw boys out on the street,etc..They were all raised in "straight" households. If straight households are so wonderful, why are there so many dysfunctional problems today?

  • 333 tell em!!

  • Praise to this young man and the women who raised him, being a good parent really has nothing to do with gender, sexual orientation, or politics, it is an intrinsic part of oneself that has an inner compass guiding the child to find themselves, done with love and compassion it has wonderful results, done with hate and judgement the opposite, this society has so much to learn, and the next century , should we survive, will be our teacher, blessed be!

  • What a moving testimony !!! I am moved beyond words...

  • Beautiful <3

  • This guy is literally incredible. I'M proud of him, not because he's so well spoken etc. But because he has given a strong and dignified argument without once disrespecting the opinions of the other party. He has given his opinion, offered his take on the opponent's, and turned it right around into an inspiring and thought-provoking argument.

    I'm amazed he's 19.

  • so one of his parent is his biological mum and the other parent is not biological with him??

  • @alexcfyung tht's wut im thinking of too !!

  • I'm a conservative Christian father of 2. And I'm very proud of this young man. I hope my own children are as passionate and articulate as this young man is when they are older. His parents should be very proud of him, I certainly am.

  • @ApokalupsisODN

what do u mean when u say u r proud of this man? do u have any relationship with him or his family? or r u just proud that they r americans?

  • @metros977 I mean, that I am proud that he stands up for what he believes in, and does so in an intelligent, sophisticated way. He is passionate about his position, is quite articulate and provides an interesting perspective. He is driven and intelligent, loves his family, and apparently...appreciates English grammar. *hint*hint*. You can be "proud" of a great number of things and people...even though you aren't related. Google the word for its proper meaning, and you'll understand.

  • @ApokalupsisODN yea, mebbe u should check on that word..i checked before and all places has it associated with self in some way and that wuz y i asked. u should have said "he should be proud", or "it's a proud achievement". those are meaning associated with him and not u, which is more correct i think. u being proud of him is wrong.

  • @metros977 I tried to cleverly type what you said word for word, only with correct spelling and grammar, but it was just way too annoying. Before calling someone out on their choice of words, maybe you should take a look at your own comments. You should be embarrassed. I'm proud of ApokalupsisODN for having pride in another human being.

  • @comineeyeaha I'm not embarrassed. I was wondering all this time if anyone could come up with any criticism other than my spelling and grammar (which are irrelevant to my point). Unsurprisingly, nobody did. Not even the great Apo could accurately respond about his incorrect use of the word (he's not the only one using it incorrectly, btw). If anyone's annoying, it's you for not really being able to say anything original. If you want, I can rewrite all my posts correctly so you may understand.

  • @metros977 Wow, you picked a great way to do it then. If you're right, then congratulations. It's 7AM and I'm tired, or else I would look it up and find out. I've heard your definition of it in the past, but nobody uses it exclusively for that purpose, so it's hard to tell who's right during general conversation. I applaud you being a grammar Nazi, obviously I enjoy doing it myself, but having mistakes in your own criticism doesn't help make your case.

  • @comineeyeaha There's no grammar involved with my criticism, which is why I chose to have only grammatical mistakes in it. You'll notice that although they're filled with modern day chat-style grammar bastardizations, all the words are used correctly (the actual criticism was an incorrect use of 'proud'). And it's not my definition, it's THE definition. That you say nobody uses it exclusively according to it's true meaning is very sad indeed.

  • I'm not even his parents, I'm not gay and I AM PROUD of this hugely articulate intelligent human being. what a tribute. congratulations

  • Amazing kid, amazing talk, amazing posture, thanks for uploading the video, it is very inspiring. I will share this with friends for considering a great example.

  • saying "they can't raise kids properly" is just an excuse to justify homophobia and it's the dumbest argument out there. I still don't know how people can seriously make that point...why wouldn't two people be able to raise a kid properly? because their ideas are different from yours. Should we strip away the marriage rights of athiests next? or maybe take away the rights of minorities again?

  • WOW, HE'S A VERY WELL SPEAKING YOUNG MAN, BUT I THINK THE QUESTION ISN'T " CAN GAYS EVEN RAISE KIDS?" BUT RATHER , ITS, CAN GAYS GIVE BIRTH SO THAT THEY CAN RAISE KIDS???!!!

  • @azizarafat Well, of course, that's not possible for most gay couples! That's... kind of why he mentioned artificial insemination.

    It'd have to be done that way or by adoption. ^^;

They can raise kids, sure, but no, they usually wouldn't be able to give birth in the old-fashioned way.

  • He is absolutely amazing! I can't stop watching this!

  • What A Phenomenal Human Being!

  • Fantastic! What a great speaker to get the point across to those who don't or won't understand.

  • think i am gonna cry.... because i am soooo happy white this video!!!!

  • Not ever kid who is raised by same sex parents are going to have the same views as his/her parents. I have a friend who has gay parents & he loves them but doesn't agree with them that it's right

Having gay parents DOES NOT make you gay & you are an ignorant closed minded person if you believe that

Yes they bible says "thou shall not lie with another man" But god does not judge you based on who you marry but who you are personally as a single being.

There's a party in hell anyways so why not go?

  • This is utterly amazing. As a successful college student raised by a lesbian couple, i feel the same way he does. Most people are just driven by ignorance and deep set stubbornness. It may not be their fault, but its the root of their anti gay marriage arguement. People dont like prominent change, as it seems like they are giving up their "power" to "inferior, second class: citizens. ex. the civil rights movement. All kudos to Wahls, he needs to run for some government office in the future.

  • I wish we could find a presidential candidate that was of this high caliber. He seems genuine, intelligent, well spoken, driven, and honest.

  • WOW! Amazing

  • What's the context of the video? Is he speaking on behalf of some legislation or something?

  • It is amazing how people use religion to hate. People talk about the sanctity of marriage and then cheat on their spouse, abuse them and/or divorce them. You should all read about the Marine commandant's statement about DADT

  • @TheMetalmelissa and you speak for ignorance... good for you

  • What a great speaker...he could be a politician...I hope everyone can see this video, he is spreading such valuable message

  • I wish I could hit the like button more times! Well spoken, well written, extremely smart, and stands up for his beliefs. ... And he's a doll!!

  • a very well spoken young man - his parents must so proud.

  • i wish the video could've gone on for a few more moments so we could've heard the loud and long applause i'm sure this young hero received. he's a role model and an angel. i hope his message is never quieted.

  • hell yea

  • I keep staring at that old fart behind him who isn't even giving him the respect of paying attention to him. I wish all arguments to issues like this were as well articulated.

  • Wonderful!!!

  • love this! i was raised by two women too and i feel the exact same way!!! what a great guy. way to stand up for our families!!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i wonder if he is gay as well as i love to hav tat fine piece of meat ;) hot n clever...who don love tat ?!

  • He is so incredibly well spoken and wise beyond his years (19!). His mothers should be very proud and he is in incredible voice for equality.

  • @Michaeljacksonisnotd: I won't comment on your English because it's irrelevant to the discussion at hand, but do you honestly believe that his opinions come only from his parents? Yes, being raised by lesbians would obviously affect his opinion, but to be fair, do you agree with everything your parents say? People decide for themselves, based both on how they were raised and what society tells them is acceptable. All this kid is asking is that you keep an open mind. And note that he is asking,

  • I really do have to laugh at the amount of people who come on to these types of pages hating! Why the hell are you even watching this video if you don't agree with it?! Nobody here really wants to listen to your ignorant, uneducated homophobic insults. Its really sad that in 2011, people still want to discriminate other people, to talk down on them and ridicule them to make themselves feel better and more important! This man is obviously very proud of his upbringing and he should be!

  • @Ajboys27 this video really inspired me, thanks for uploading it, I was hoping I can put spanish subtitles so more people can hear this amazing story is that ok with you?

  • @annymax20 you can put the Spanish subtitles , if i know Spanish i would of done it my self, but i would be happy if you do that

  • @Ajboys27 thanks! I'm native spanish speaker, I let you know when I upload it :)

  • @annymax20 Please, put spanish sub!! Thanks!!

  • you can tell lot's of people are jealous from him and the way he been raised, because he is better than most of the people who called him dumb, like @lidblonde , people say if you have nothing good to say then you better be silent , and you cannot even write without drooping the ( F ) boom

  • @Ajboys27 I agree. I really like the way he goes out the point he is trying to make. It's a classier and more intelligent way of getting your point across. Of course not everyone is going to agree with his opinions, but that's why they're his opinions not anyone elses. I have watched this video multiple times and don't see a flaw in his "arguement".

  • @michaeljacksonisnotd You're 100% sure he's gay. lol The only thing you can be 100% sure of is your irrational hatred of people you don't even know. The fact you even think this shows how deluded you are about yourself and your beliefs. You have no facts yet you pretend you do. Your hatred for him is all about you and your issues. Nothing to with him at all. lol.

  • @global001 dude, boy raised by 2 homosexuals can be only gay, it's a fact and everyone knows it, get over it..and we can see it here...I don't hate him, i'm just saying that he doesn't have his own opinion and that makes him look dumb:)

  • @michaeljacksonisnotd No facts there at all & what you're saying is in actual fact bullshit. Straight people have gay children so that blows your theory out if the water children having the same sexual orientation as their parents. The only person looking dumb is you because children DO have different views to their parents. Sometimes they also agree but he's presented an intelligent argument which shows he's put individual thought into it. Unfortunately I can't say the same for you.

  • @global001 lol i know gay guys and even they agree with me....unfortunately for u:(

  • Comment removed

  • @michaeljacksonisnotd Having gay people agree with your position proves nothing. The "fact" that a boy raised by a lesbian or gay couple will turn out gay is not a fact; it has been disproven several times. What you're saying is ignorant. You're basing your opinion off of one or two circumstances that you have heard of, and not taking into account the rest of the statistics. Straight parents can have kids of different sexual orientations, homosexual parents can have straight kids. FACT.

  • @michaeljacksonisnotd What part of the fact that the sexual orientation of your parents has no bearing on the sexual orientation of their children do you not understand? Its a fact straight people have gay children so why do you think that gay parents can only have gay children? There is no logic or fact in your argument. I dispute any gays would agree with you. I know gay parents with straight children so your opinions are simply ignorant & bigoted. Don't confuse them with facts.

  • @michaeljacksonisnotd BTW the way whenever someone has run out of anything to say & have no logic or facts to back up their argument they start to repeat to me exactly what I'm saying to them. I wrote to you 'Unfortunately I can't say the same for you.' and wrote back 'unfortunately for u'. You literally just copy and parrot off things you hear other people saying. You do no genuine research to find out the truth even when its right in front of your face.

  • this is amazing, its people like this young man who create change, by saying something truly inspirational and positive. WTG <3. Why shouldn't two people be able to be married? I am not gay but i do support somebody having the same rights as other people. we are all people.

  • @edmyster55 - it matters because people are using the concept that a homesexual couple can not possibly provide the "right" kind of family structure that a straight couple can. Some states are leaps and bound ahead of others. States like Ohio are still at a critical crossroads on this issue and a speach such as this, made by such an individual, shoots holes in the oposition's theories. And, just so you know, we're not amazed because he was raised by lesbians. We're amazed because he's 19.

  • @pbenji81 Yes I understand. But people are just so ignorant if they are using the concept that a homosexual couple can't provide the right kind of family structure that heterosexuals can. Sexuality has nothing to do with raising children. And I'm not just saying things out of assumption, my girlfriend's parents are gay. 2 males. And she's in school about to be a doctor! Of course they can raise successful children, but at the same time, they can also raise failures, JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.

  • @edmyster55 SO TRUE! EQUALS!

  • @pbenji81 Nd yeah the fact that he is 19 is very impressive, but you'd be surprised how many people are amazed for the fact that he was raised by lesbians. We actually had a debate about this video in class and a lot of people were amazed for that reason.

Overall, I'm proud of this kid and his family. Good luck to him.

  • @usinoz - The paper is irrelevant. It is a symbol of a deeper injustice. True, a family, whether they are compromised of straight or gay parents, does not have their validity or worth determined by a document. However, by denying homsexual couples the right to pursue a legal, and respected union of Mariage, it does lend support to a wider theory that homexuals are "lesser" or "Second class". No different than when we deniedwomen a right to vote or people of color a right to public education

  • Phenomenal speech. Just amazing.

  • he is well-spoken

  • I do believe in live and let live. This guy is well spoken and probably is really sincere ( I don't know him ) but his statements apart from how well he has done confuse If you Listen to his words, NOT sentiment. He states Non Gay Families derive their sense of Worth, NOT by the State saying "You're Married " but with commitment to each other. Why then does he see Gay families as 2 nd class because they don't have the same Paper, A PIECE OF Paper that by his own word does not derive self worth

  • could the piece of paper translate to tax benefits (etc.) that heterosexual couples are getting?

  • @usinoz --It is about equal justice and equality. Plain and simple. EQUAL JUSTICE UNDER THE LAW!

  • There´s no sound...

  • @12Chinyere Ugh, yes there is...

  • this is absolutely incredible. anyone who doesn't agree, just don't even be here. just go away. you're unbelievable.

  • @LifesPain666

what are you talking about? unless you are being sarcastic, i can't believe what you're saying here.

  • @LifesPain666 Troll harder.

  • So amazing and motivational!!!

  • 1 word A M A Z I N G ♥

  • @DancingKittyCat - If you mean that people who are violent go to jail, and if you're equating that kind of behavior with "happiness", I believe you're confusing things here. Happiness doesn't mean the all out license to do anything you want to do. First of all, that usually is an indicator of extreme unhappiness and frustration. Happiness is reaching full stride, it's living in a place that allows you to grow to your full potential without being hampered by artificial barriers. Get it?

  • This guy's speech is really inspirational!

  • asking whether gay couples can raise children is besides the point

  • This was amazing and inspirational

  • probably the best speech i have ever heard .!!!!

  • Also most of the arguments that I hear against gay marriage are almost identical to the arguments against interracial marriage, which is now legal and has had no negative impact on society. I hope that this young man has shown that gay marriage also will have no negative impact on society.

  • The constitution says that men have certain unalienable rights, life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I consider marrying someone you love is protected under the unalienable right of being able to pursue happiness.

  • @DancingKittyCat Well it can't protect everybody! There's plenty of people in jail for pursuing the things that make them happy.

I'm not against homosexuality but I get irritated with the unalienable right to the pursuit of happiness. Mainly because I don't understand it too well. How can one have the right t
