  • Also, I should add that Kenny openly acknowledged it was about Waylon and Jessi. And I meant to write in my original comment that his *voice* touches my soul. Not just one song. He's my favorite overall artist and celebrity that ever was or will be. And thanks again for all the great videos. I am a regular visitor to your channel. :)

  • Waylon had this Great Big Natural Gift, to sing a song, as if it was just to you.. whether you were sitting in a jam-packed venue, or alone, next to your record-player...Love this tune.......Thank you so much for this lovely Waylon version......xx

  • What a voice. I wonder if the world will ever get the honor of hearing anything as beautiful as that ever again. I seriously doubt it. R.I.P Hoss, the world misses ya. PURE GENIUS

  • @MrOzzie11 I could not agree more. I wondered the first time I heard this song if it was about him, because his song touches my soul, and NO ONE sings a love song--or any song--quite like Waylon! <3

  • @editorkim Kim i doubt that the song was written and originally recorded by Kenny Rogers

i do agree with the sentiment of your comment

  • @teddie488 Hey teddie, love all your vids. According to Reba McIntire, she was on the plane in 1977 when Kenny sat next to Jessi and talked to her about Waylon. He supposedly wrote/recorded it the next day. Some say Reba claimed Jessi actually wrote it and Kenny stole it, but Waylon told her not to worry about it because "karma would take care of it." So she kept quiet until after he died, then released her version with the story in the front (check it out on Reba's Vevo). Good story, great song

  • What a voice. I wonder if we'll ever get to hear a beautiful voice like that again. I think's it's fair to say that we won't. Never be another like ya hoss. R.I.P Waylon, the world misses ya.

  • Waylons, and Dottie Wests, are THEE Best Verisions. Hands Down.

    Miss Ya Hoss!

  • Sing your song sweet music man. Yea, Kenny wrote the song about WAYLON. Too bad for Kenny (who's music I like) that Waylon sings it best!!! And I like Reba's verson too, but no version will ever top this. Thanks for posting!

  • Don't think i ever heard Reba's version thx for the comment tt

  • Well, I prefer Kenny's version! The funny thing is that Kenny wrote this about Waylon after a talk with Jessi Colter, Waylon's wife! I really like Reba's new version of the song also, I believe Alison Krauss produced it.

  • Thats fair comment and i must admit it is a nice thing of KR to do about Waylon what a tribute, thanks for that great little piece of information.

  • Yet again more quality from Eddie....and Waylon plays his part too!

  • Thanks Alf

  • I prefer this to the Kenny Rogers version. Great performance, and great photos in the video, especially the one at 01:41 with Jessie in the background.
