BTW If you remove the racial politics and war mongering, Nazi Germany was pretty successful in its economic policies. They were very popular back then as millions of Germans were lifted out of unemployment and poverty after WW1 and the great depression. Obviously China is following the same path.
I'm an American who lives in China and has studied China extensively for years. China most certainly does not advocate child labor, gender inequality, or indentured servitude. China has the greatest gender equality in East Asia (though it lags behind the west) and employment of anyone under 18 is nearly non-existent. Indentured servitude? This economy crisis is affecting everyone because i have to pay $50 dollar more for my college tuition in Georgia because the government wants to balance their budget. And i don't even want to mention the taxs.

Observation: I didn't see any obesity, everyone was neatly dressed and clean, civil to one another, orderly and respectful. Streets and surroundings were clean, no litter/junk. Parallel all these things against America's poor (even middle class) and see the contrast.

But believe me it IS filthy, poluted, with scum everywhere. People can be really gross like not wearing deodorant or spitting inside buildings. There should be an international effort to provide internet and one computer to every household in the world. Instead of traveling thousands of miles and spending a life's savings trying to find some crappy job, people in rural areas could be searching online for that job and maybe even creating a virtual business. Observation: I didn't see any obesity, everyone was neatly dressed and clean, civil to one another, orderly and respectful. Streets and surroundings were clean, no litter/junk. Parallel all these things against America's poor (even middle class) and see the contrast.

EquivocallyAbsurd I've been in china I liked it a lot specially the people.
But believe me it IS filthy, poluted, with scum everywhere. People can be really gross like not wearing deodorant or spitting inside buildings. Chinks are so orderly and respectful you could call them feeble, the ones that r not are scamming u. And they are not fat but the eat warm food rich in fast calories even for breakfast.
I don't expect you to understand the cultural acceptance that lies behind my comment though.

I don't doubt that there are parts that are filthy as you say. It stands to reason a Country with that population just now catching up to the West must have disadvantages and problems with regard to waste disposal.
Still my comment was only directed toward this particular video. If I could, I would travel the Globe. People and cultures fascinate me.

I badpacked 70.000 km of china, where most of the population lives. Sure there's cleaner parts not like %90 of the population benefits from them. I did like china, I was expecting a bigger cultural clash though -quite comparable with colombia- still it was fascinating. I understand the cultural reasons why they are not as clean as westerns and I accept it. Population there is not trying to catch up with anything, it's the way it is. You just have to go, it's like 9 times cheaper than USA.

There should be an international effort to provide internet and one computer to every household in the world. Instead of traveling thousands of miles and spending a life's savings trying to find some crappy job, people in rural areas could be searching online for that job and maybe even creating a virtual business. Rich people who spend their wealth unwisely (Paris Hilton, anyone?) need to reevaluate their place and impact on the world.
