Yes it's slow on 1mbps but that's 3g Verizon and At&t cannot match that they can only output 768kbps, plus on 4g you can get up to 10mbps, that's true broadband speed.

who says it's 4g? Clearwire? Sprint? Of course they will as they are the only contributers to that technology.. Real 4g is LTE and HSPA+ technology on a fiber network. Wimax is not even mobile yet. You should be at same spot to complete a download or a stream. Also still no voice over IP on Wimax. And it is not a proven technology. It is nothing but a wider range of Wi-Fi

It's called WiMax and its still 4G. This is the biggest mistake Sprint did they should have gone to LTE route but I guess WiMax is a lot cheaper to deploy.

In Europe some countries (including Sweden) have up to 24mbps on 3G. But every country has at least 16mbps.

In Sweden our 4G speeds are up to 120mbps and they never get slower than 80mbps.

Is 4G connection relying on that dongle thing? I got a Wi-Fi dongle and the connection started getting "choppy" when the dongle heated up after a few hours of use. That is okay for surfing but for gaming it kinda blows. Maybe I just got unlucky with my Wi-Fi dongle.

Wow, that's a great packing job by Sprint. Considering that I would really love to have fast internet access on the go, I'd love to get a 4G card. That little hotspot device is certainly a plus. $60/month is a bit steep though, considering I've got my iPhone, it wouldn't really matter for me, provided AT&T could get their service to actually work over here.

Man pretty soon, it will be a good idea to just ditch home internet and use a 3/4G type data service everywhere, and only have one bill. That will be great.

However, even though the reviewer said it was 59 a month, when I looked just now it appears to be 69 a month for this sprint 4g. Also there's the problem of the 5GB limit. I've tested and I use about 40-45GB of data a month on my home PC so thats not enough for me. Then again I use TONS of streaming video (youtube and blogtv).

Since I pay 40 a month for 8mb cable, with no GB cap, so prices will need to come down and bandwidth up on this 4g stuff.

First there are two kinds of carrier gsm (att, tmobile and the rest of the world) or cdma (verizon, sprint and china mobile).

In gsm 2g is just phone services (branded voice), 3g is both EDGE (branded as such or 2.5g) or HSPDA (branded as 3G).

On cdma there is 2g (branded as voice), or 3g that is EV-DO and is (branded as 3g)

4g has not been released on either system, what sprint brands as 4g is actually a really really big WiFi network

Can someone help me? I'm REALLY confused. When you buy internet from a company, they measure it in megaBITS per second, but when downloading something my browser measures it in megaBYTES per second. In binary there are 8 bits in a byte. So if someone gets, for example, an 8 megabit per second download speed from like Comcast, should they realistically download things at 1 megabyte per second? Because I have a 31 megabit download speed but realistically download things at 1 megabyte per second...
