@sparklepop2000 Cold porcelain is an air dry clay that dries translucent, unless you color it with acrylic paint, it is SUPER soft and really easy to work with :)
Also, i've seen people microwave it. Would that work this well too? It's just if there is glue in there, i am not alowed to cook it in a dish where we place our food. :(
i did mine ytd, it turns out to be good and when i pull it it has the string thingy there, but there is a LITTLE cracks. Is dat consider okay? medium? or I overcooked ?
@jadarocks15 Cold porcelain is an air dry clay that you have to color with acrylic paint. Polymer clay is an oven bake clay that comes pre colored in 2 oz. blocks :)
@nailbiter64 oh thanks for your answer hehehe i was just asking because i didn't have cornstarch but i think i will need to buy some love the vid by the way :)
Hey! I want to try this but one question.. Can you use that same pot you used to make cold porcelain for cooking again? Or do you have to dispose the pot?
@dakotalaniestudioz how does ur stove work? if it has a dial, then put the dial in between medium and high. if it shows degrees, take note of the lowest degree and the highest degree, put it in the middle of those two, divide the degrees in between the middle and the highest in 2, add it to the middle. there u go :) i kno its a little confusing, but that's the best i can explain right now :p
I luv this I tried it today works great! But I found that if it is sticking to ur hands when u knead it and r impatient to knead it for 16 minutes to make it non sticky u should just put a little cornstarch on the baking sheet and knead it in :) srry for long comment lol
@HelloKitty59766 the glue helps it stick together and have the right consistency. I dont understand why youcant make cold porcelain, I mean cant you go out and buy some glue???
Do you think I could use rice flour instead or cornstarch? (no idea what cornstarch is XD) ALSO if I cook it in the pot can i not use the pot again for food?? x
@pinkandglitter Thanks for watching. I would not recommend using any flour because your creations will crack. And you can definitely reuse your pot. Hope this help :D.
mine gets really sticky after i store it for lik 2 hours. i take a chunk out and there are a bunch of air bubbles that cant come out. and also it feel kinda rubbery and when i mix it for a while it gets better but also slightly whiter. i stored old cold porcelain (from a while ago i did it) and it was soft but after the 3 months i didnt touvh it and all the baby oil came out a ruined the container.
@adorablekitten191 Your problem might be that you are not kneeding it for long enough. You need to knead the pate until cold or at least warm. Also you should let the paste sit and should not touch it for at least 24 hrs. Hope this helps... :D
@Polymerclaynerd Cold porcelain is an air dry clay that you color with acrylic paint. You don't bake it but it will take 1-3 days to completely dry. You would let it dry before glazing or painting on it... hope this helps. sorry it took a while to respond.
@Polymerclaynerd I'm pretty sure that mineral oil and baby oil are the same, I used baby oil in the tutorial so yep you can use whatever one you want... :D.
@chewythechihuahua Yep it works great, but if you want it to be more sticky knead it in not only lotion but glue to. You want to knead it until when you brake it it forms peaks.
