  • This is so brilliantly shot. It really is addictive, these documentaries.

  • Scary as fuck.

  • LOL! What kind of weirdness? Serving food to tables with nobody sitting at them. Wow.

  • not even a nail can get through north korea's border, but apparently they don't even have metal detectors at the airport since these guys managed to introduce cameras and possibly batteries :/

  • poor people

  • From the other news reports I've seen from North Korea it would seem the hotel rooms are not bugged. I gather that simply by the fact that they said shit that would totally get them killed, but they came back alive. It's pretty shocking when you think about it, but I wouldn't take any chances myself.

  • This isn't even North Korea. This is where the white people go. This is NOT north korea.....

  • @mychokehold I think he gets that...

  • NO whispering wont help

  • Frankly, Pyongyang is like Jakarta in 1960-70's... :)

  • That's fucked up.

  • Proof right there: NKorea doesn't need food-aid, NKorea needs shipments of cook books!

  • I though Vices liberal pussies would love N.Korea's government

  • @NorStarReviews jackass!

  • why are these all 3 min long?

  • @jmosler9

    youtube rules

  • Of course the room is bugged, the one you stayed in in China was bugged also. If you are that ignorant, I'm surprised you made it out alive.

  • im scared just watching this shit man. lolol

  • I am really grateful for the documentary but couldn't they make it in one part

  • for some reason this reminded me of the restaurant or w/e in jurassic park.. all empty and barren xD

  • how did they get the cameras in?

  • Haha the woman laughed when someone actually brought a customer in.

  • @ILikeToMong: I ve been to NK, folks there are really nice, even undercover agents, like to talk and make the joke once after you show the firendly gestures. It is only the high pressure policy, that shuts down the mind and nature of these people

  • the democratic republic of career

  • Those ladies were laughing and saying, "Let's pull the wool over the eyes of the unsuspecting, capitalist fool".

  • This reporter is an idiot whose sole intention it is to arrogantly dismiss other cultures and totally ignore the facts of what happened on the Korean peninsula. Every coin has two sides, but this moron doesn't realise that. Let's go and laugh and mock and ridicule others, that makes us Westerners look sooo much better ... Idiot ! 90% of what he says is inaccurate, he should go to North Korea and report the facts as they are, not as he would like us believe. Shameful journalism !

  • @passwordforgetter Apparently you work for NOrth Korea.

  • @passwordforgetter i'm sorry dude...but you're defending North Korea...that's like defending a giant pile of shit..that happens to have nukes and hate everything else around it. I don't think this was made to make the West look any better...more to show how horrible life in North Korea is. I'm sorry if you're offended man, but North Korea sucks...

  • don't know when they did this but its easy to go to north koea by now, the have ther own tourist beuros etc. they have even whole resorts on the beach just for tourists, just damn google it lol

  • im more partial to broiled or steamed matter,...mmmmm...mattteeerr..

  • @hamiltonau Matter is delicious!

  • This is the second video i've watched that raywilliamjohnson has watched. I feel special

  • @HamishMuggatron You know the guy under you';s name is raywilliamjohnston, right? he's a fake.

  • @TheLegomania11

    Good call. My bad

  • @HamishMuggatron He's a fake one -_-.

  • @HamishMuggatron Read the name more carefully!

  • NK it's not crowded outside at all.

  • Why do they even have a 30 floor Hotel in the 1st place?????? it's like pratically a dead business

  • made exactly the 120000th view :P nice videos!

  • Mmmmm, matter.

  • --hahahahhaha...look at those streets..no vehicles. haha.

  • 7 people got caught with cameras

  • He looks so ronery in that banquet hall.

  • how are their hotels in NK? How did you get a camera? I never knew NK had any cities

  • how are their hotels in NK? How did you get a camera?

  • are u insane how can u have a camera in

  • this team of people have some serious balls to go into NK. I'm glad they did though

  • he is so spoiled. Matter is one of the most delicious thing in the world

  • lol @ 3:30 hes just sitting there looking at those lady's thinkin...you think this is normal

  • who does this guy think he is? what has he ever acomplished? all this redneck does is constantly diminish an entire culture (way of thinking) or the efford of a lot of people with a few words. this asshole just mockes and gets helpfulness, trust and friendly respectfulness in return, althoug, as the portrays it, everyone was educated to hate him. i dont have anything to do with NK or asia, but i am truely disguested by this man!

  • @aleken What's wrong with pointing out how bizarre it is in a bizarre country? Why should we be so politically correct that we're only allowed to say nice things about a country and be in denial of the bleeding obvious?

And the pretentious nature of the North Korean tourism industry has nothing to do with culture. Blowing money on lavish, under-used hotels and pampering a few lonely tourists while the wider population starves is not Korean culture, it just shows the crookedness of the regime.

  • @Balthic I agree on your comment 100%. Its always the people of the US (meaning US nationals) that have to be sensitive to other nationals, nations, religious beliefs and other point of views. I never hear any leader or news media telling the opposite to be sensitive to the US and our point of view.

  • @Balthic Technically there's nothing wrong with lavish hotels for tourists as long as the hotel makes money for NK. I mean that's what capitalism is about actually. A manufacturer selling $10,000 toiler seats to Wall Street CEOS while other americans are homeless, we allow it.

  • So how did they get cameras in?

  • @itsCindybietch I was wondering the same, how did he able to film in the hotel banquet room?!

  • @itsCindybietch Hidden camera in his glasses

  • @itsCindybietch up their arses probably xD

  • @itsCindybietch it said in PART 2, they are allowed the most basic point and shoot cameras....

  • @spawnofmydecay Alright, I didn't hear that. Thanks.

  • @itsCindybietch He said so in the second part. "You can basicly bring a point and shoot... that's it."

  • @itsCindybietch you can bring a point and shoot camera, that's it.

  • @itsCindybietch The fat one ate them

  • @itsCindybietch they mention it in part2, they just take one.

  • @itsCindybietch

He said you we're aloud to bring a point and shoot

  • @itsCindybietch inside they b... ouch

  • @itsCindybietch gewd question...

  • @itsCindybietch point and shoot they brought in

  • @itsCindybietch They got them in by being sneaky

  • @itsCindybietch

    Didn't you listen ??

The guy said they could only bring a point-and-shoot.

That's what they did, that's why the quality is merely 360p.

  • @itsCindybietch he said in Part 2 that you can't take anything BUT a point and shoot

  • @itsCindybietch point and shoots

  • @itsCindybietch they allow cameras in certain areas

  • @itsCindybietch they said, they're allowed to bring in simple point and shoot cameras, do you even pay attention to the shit you watch?

  • @itsCindybietch You can bring simple digital cameras but not professional video camras

  • @itsCindybietch They brought point and shoot cameras with HD video...

  • The country was putting on an act for this guy lol

  • Comment removed

  • i fucking love those propaganda short films

  • @mah0aga reminds me of the political videos running upto the elections..

  • Crazy Land!

  • The propaganda at the beginning of most parts is so odd...

Anyway, he has the power and the nation following him, instead of using it correctly like Sherwin930 said he fucks it up lol.

  • Wow kim jong ill is so fucking lucky!I bet he has a huge arsenal of north korean girls to do anything he wants with them!!!><DAMN IT

  • WOW, THEYRE ALL LAUGHING RIGHT BEFORE YOU EAT THAT "FRIED MATTER" HOPE YOU DIDNT SWALLOW IT!

  • If they are not allowed to bring any kind of video cameras, how could they film North Korea then???

  • these people r such idiots. they think any word or label is legit. like america is a democracy or capitalist, another country is communist etc. idiots. america has many communist and socialist policies. and almost all countries are usually dictatorships or they are a combination of communism, socialism and tyrannical government. there is no communist country in principle. jesus, people r shallow.

  • Okay, I've come to crazy land!

  • Looks like a pretty good place. Bit sterile maybe. Nice music. I like that soviet era propaganda music.

  • Chairman Mau's China, was worse than this before they became industrialized. "THANK YOU RICHARD NIXON & NUMBER ONE CHINESE ENVOY, GEORGE BUSH SENIOR!" Now the Chinese have some freedom, and a restaurant on every corner in the USA with plenty to eat, and if your from the USA like me..............they have your job! I laugh when I hear the comments at how superior we think we are! This style of living is coming here. so just stay asleep with your heads up your asses, and laugh at me.

  • @Hotrodluvmut1

Very benevolent of you to give your job away to a Chinaman.

    My sincerest congratulations..

(You forgot to mention that they now have our nuclear & rocket propulsion secrets which the Clintons traded in for campaign contributions.)

  • @lakeeriejew I didn't forget. If I had the room, I could write several books on these facts! You are correct, Chairman Bill Clinton did sell us out. Jimmy the joke Carter, Gerald ford, LBJ, all of them! In my opinion, The last real president this country had was murdered in Dallas Texas by the C.I.A. The fact that no one cares, is what scares me! Why should they care? We have The Cowboys! we can slobber on ourselves looking at the cheerleaders, and argue stats. Oh and brag about our freedom!

  • @Hotrodluvmut1

JFK was killed by Lee Harvey Oswald, a lone sharpshooter, who was a Communist loyalist. End of story.

(If I would consider any alternative to the CIA, it would be LBJ himself.)

  • @lakeeriejew JFK was killed by Oswald??? what are kidding me? Maybe the Easter bunny did it! ROFLMAO!!!! LBJ, and Richard Nixon, both their reasons for killing JFK. I think it was because, Kennedy signed executive order 11110 in June 63 that stripped the power of the federal reserve to lend money to the government. The order replaced federal reserve notes, with real money backed by silver. If they would just inact this order, our current problems would be solved!

  • @lakeeriejew LOL a communist loyalist. Do much acid buddy? no one will ever know who really killed him just like no one will ever know who really set up 9/11.

  • lol, whats for dinner? "Fried Matter."

  • Am I the only one who thinks the propaganda guy at the beginning of the video has one of the funnest voices ever?

"De nu apperance of pyonyang will hand down to posterity de fact det Kin Jong-il is a jenios of cretun."

  • @FiddlerAdam no, you are an idiot. a typical brainwashed idiot.

  • I think they're laughing at his beard.

  • i would be shit scared if that was me :|

  • @FiddlerAdam you idiot. there are no communist countries. never have been, just oligarchies and dictatorships with the label/disguise as communism.

  • DPRK's "showcase capital" is really fairly common Soviet-era drab.

  • haha! put the beggining parts on auto captions xD

  • why the fuck are parts only 3 minutes long?

  • Listening to those ladies laugh at Shane is funny! It's like they have some inside joke!

  • @pakkurisu

Yeah, it's that a white guy came to N.Korea from America :P

  • @pakkurisu If I was in North Korea, I'd be scared for any women that smiled at me or touched me because I would think Kim Jong Il would imprison them for expressing pleasure around an American.

  • @pakkurisu They are probably laughing at his beard. Those of oriental descent have no beard, and nearly everyone in North Korea is oriental. I would guess that it is the first time when they ever saw a beard. Just imagine never seeing one before, and then sticking a wig on their chin.

  • @AbsentMaverick

Asians can have beards, its just that in the PRK they aren't permitted. There are only 2 acceptable hairstyles for men as well.

  • i wouldnt complain about being waited on by 20 cute ladies

  • What a waste of space. Those poor people, how is this still going on? Do they really have such dangerous weapons? I just want every force everywhere to just raid this place.

  • 5 north koreans voted dislike

  • @marvin117 probably Kim Jong Il.

  • the URL has "QQ" in it.

  • Amazing...

  • Take off the sanction....so this poor country can breath...

  • I feel bad, they produce this image, to keep their moral up. Same as how the USA makes "being in debt" look fashionable

They along with all of us around the world, really want help, but it's hard for them to ask... not ask, but let other people into their hearts.

    peac-e-caeq

  • The whole banquet he experienced sounds an awful lot like something out of Alice in Wonderland.

  • MAAAATAR FRIEEEED MATAAAAR

  • my parents generation always use to say better dead than red i now know what they meant by that!

  • is that really NK?

  • lol..@ crazyland....hahaha

  • mmm, fried matter!

  • Is there a can of North Koreans to give his opinion?

For me, it looks as if the whole nation is degraded completely and most have a meaningless job so that whole population can be kept in check.

  • @Talasnet

Meaningless jobs such as removing the wild grass on the empty highways or brushing the curbs with a little brush, sitting on the pavement. Old ladies also carry terribly heavy backpacks, I have no clue what was inside.

No men wear jeans of any kind. I did not think about it until I read this, but this is true I saw noone wearing jeans.

  • "Fried Matter" best description ever of bad food.

  • An entire country turned into a prison.... that's what North Korea is.

  • "OK, I've come to Crazy Land!"

  • You wear blue jeans though you're past 30 and visit the large banquet hall? Shoddy, disrespectful. Didn't the hippie fad die in the 1970:s? Sort yourself out, lad.

  • @SevenHundredMillion The large and empty banquet hall. Who is he going to offend by wearing jeans? The crazies?

  • @CanadianForcesEric

How about the hosts, and the viewers?

  • @SevenHundredMillion Well, who cares about the hosts, really? They're offended by him being American in the first place. As for the viewers, you're really the only one with a stick far enough up your ass to complain.

  • @CanadianForcesEric

*Checks ass*: no stick. But I have a sensible visual sense and I cannot and will not accept hippies.

  • @SevenHundredMillion I'm guessing you're from the generation that has a severe phobia of Communism, too.

  • @CanadianForcesEric

Grown men shall not wear blue jeans. Simple as that. Dress your age.

  • @SevenHundredMillion "Dress your age"... An odd comment, considering if jeans weren't appropriate for certain ages then they wouldn't be made for said ages.

  • @CanadianForcesEric

Yours is the odd comment. They are available because bufoons like him in the clip keep buying them.

  • @SevenHundredMillion That's because people like him have the freedom to do so. Go to North Korea if you want to live among clones.

  • @CanadianForcesEric

I'm sure you can wear blue jeans in North Korea, but only an absolut c*nt would wear them at a banquet hall where the hosts have made an effort for maximum elegance.

  • @SevenHundredMillion If you're allowed to wear blue jeans in North Korea, a country where everything is dictated by the Great Leader, then i'd assume it's perfectly appropriate for him to wear them. Your bitching is irrelevant.

  • "Fried matter."

  • your just eating you matter going ive just come to crazyland lol

  • Dude you rock this is amazing

  • dude if i had complete control over a nation for free like kim i would put them to good use like, make super buildings, cures for cancer, and shit you woudn't be able to do without the 100% following of your citizens. Think about it people the man has the potential to help the world and his people but instead he has to be a fag and sit at home drinking wine all day watching the rest of the world prosper and modernize, while his ppl are still stuck in the cold war

  • @Sherwin930 this is a very good observation. thumbs up

  • @Sherwin930 power and money corrupts any man... even a saint

  • @denyfate true but im no man im a 16 year old boy ;D

  • @Sherwin930

In order for his form of totalitarianism to work you need constant war and constant fear. The indoctrination there is terrible, people are poorly educated and poorly fed. The capacity for a society of slaves to outperform a free society is non-existent.

  • @D0g63rt i see your point but that is what i am saying if i had the following of a people like that i would even if they lived in fear they would still be able to do whatever they want, not be sick, and prosper but i have no idea how i would make that work though lol.

  • @Sherwin930 you just blew my fucking mind.

  • @Sherwin930 Its just that if he educated his population, he would not be able to control them.

  • @moj0llama

    oh so true

  • @Sherwin930 When people dont get payed shit its hard to get them motivated to do all the stuff you talk about lol. You think kim hasant thought of that.

  • @Sherwin930 THAT is the best comment I read on YT ever!

  • @1MIESERTYP

You're either easily pleased, or it's the only one you've ever read.

  • @Pepotamo1985 and you read YT-comments all day without any satisfaction. no either. great life.

  • @Sherwin930

You say that, but I would wager that if any one of us "little people" gained complete control of a nation and became worshiped like gods, never having our perception of reality questioned, we would end up exactly like Kim jong-Il, able to have dissidents killed, rewriting history to keep up the illusion of infallibility disregarding human rights for lofty projects that testify to our "glory."

I suggest that you rethink that. It's the framework for the totalitarian impulse.

  • @Sherwin930 I'm sure a lot of us would do that, but it's not entirely possible.

Of course, that doesn't mean one has to go the Kim Jong Il route, either.

  • @Sherwin930 that's a nice thought. but unfortunately, these people just live in fear and that's how kim jong is able to have such a tight grip on these people. he needs to be put down, seriously.

  • @Sherwin930 ------------make super buildings, cures for cancer, and shit you woudn't be able to do without the 100% following of your citizens.--------->U need MONEY aka CASH FLOW to do dat, not peoples followings :) Cash flow's hard 2 come by when your blanket sanctioned. The "rest of the world" ain't prospering. Most "free market" economies are 3rd world shitholes by absolute majority except for G-8 and G-20 may b.

  • ignorance is bliss? or is this too much?

  • This is when ur counter-intelligence training come to work xD

  • Can't help but feel terrible for these people trapped in this delusional state.
