Year 1993: I was in a record store, checking Levs albums. I only owned their third at the time, so I picked up "Levelling The Land" and went to have a quick listen to it... I already knew about "One Way", so I skipped it. Next was "The Game". FIVE SECONDS later I was buying the CD! That opening fiddle riff is fuckin' awesome! Oh, and I still believe "Levelling" is by far their best record ;)

I think the metaphor is a bit obscure on purpose, so you can interpret it as you see fit - but I've always heard it as meaning "this is no game, it's the only life we get, so when confronting our oppressors, we must play for keeps".

Saw this band at Glastonbury 1992 - before the film cameras! So no footage sadly (unless any one here filmed it!!) nice violin work. What happened to spirited youth...Murdered by Xfactor, I'm a Celeb,and the other Big brother dross...NO Souls anymore......
