Check your computers help files, they are likely to contain a keyboard short cut that will print screen.

dude, i got an easier idea other than photoshop, copy it to paint, cut out the unwanted parts, then save it ad bitmap (.bmp) then open it on pivot, it comes out fine and perfect

I'm on windows, Mac doesn't have paint but it probably has some similar program, failing that you can just download some photo editor easily.

Here's how to do it on a Mac:

Press shift + command + 4

drag to select a screen region

that screen region will be saved as a .png

open it in Preview or iPhoto and make any edits you want

import into Pivot

all you have to do is these steps....

step 1:get a picture you wanna turn into a sprite

step 2:press -prtscn- button to get the picutre of the page

step 3:open ms paint and paste ur picture in there

step 4:copy the area you want around the item/picture

step 5:open a new ms paint and paste it there

step 6:save it as -gif*- best results...

or as bitmap...

step 7:open pivot beta 3.0 (will not work with 2.5) and press open sprite

step 8:find it, click it and enjoyXD

If your using a windows computer it will be in the start menu in accessories.

you can just go to google images and type in pivotmasterdx and the burger image comes up. then you save it in my pictures as a .bmp (bitmap) format then open up pivot 3.0 beta and click add sprite simple as that.

I use it because there are lots of off white pixels around the sprite and photoshops magic eraser gets rid of all the similar colours. If you don't use photoshop then you wil have lots of off white pixels around the burger when in pivot.

Just stick with photoshop it's really easy but the new CS4 is about 1gb download so it can take a while but it's a very good program.

Do you mean what would happen if you change the colour of the background?

The background colour is the the colour that will be invisible when in pivot so that's why I use one that isn't in the image or that colour in the image will be see through in pivot.I think PivotmasterDX uses white because I think I've seen things through the onions.
