what people need to know is that the movie was completely different. grease started out on broadway pretty much the same way as the current revival. themovie completely fucked up what grease is supposed to be. its just cuz john travolta and olivia newton john were big stars and they needed the movie to surround around them so the director changed the whole concept of grease. the greas eon broadway is pretty much the right one with the exception of some songs that they added in. so no complaints!
I saw it. It wasn't very good and apparently the reviewers agree with me. I'm just now reading all of the bad reviews and they are horrible some even a bit too harsh! I don't like the way they squezeed in the songs from the movie, especially Hopelessly devoted to you, I mean it was sung right after the It's raining on Prom Night song, which IMO was overkill. I see it closing by fall 2009.
yea rite GREASE ON BROADWAY is the BEST EVER!!!!! i had ever seen in my life...........who cares about the reviews is not like they are going 2 c it everday!!!! SOOOOOOO many people LOOOOVE this broadway show!!!!! they are AMAZING!!!!! #1
We are all entitled to our opinions of course but personally I didn't care for it at all and was a bit disappointed since Grease is one of my favorite movies but I will admit it wasn't a complete disaster some of the scenes were pretty cool. And as I said, I honestly see it closing with in the next couple of years if not sooner and it's not just because of the reviews.
You're certainly entitled to your opinion, and the reviews were mixed, but I think some of the critics didn't give the leads a fair shot because they disapproved of how they got the roles. The fact is, the show is still going strong with Max and Laura. Word of mouth and the TV show beat out the critics. Usually the theater critics rule, so the public must have really liked them.
omg.i just saw the musical about 3 hours ago. AMAZING!!!!!!

Max and Laura are cool.

I didn't like it all. Laura was a bad actress. I wasn't buying her as an innocent school girl.
