:( how do u get ur swr so low like that i can only get mine in between 1.5 to 2.0 :( and i cant get it any lower :( and also my antenna is a magmount lil wil and its on top of my roof of my car and all the readings i get is 1.5 to 2.0 or mayb just 2 :( can u plz help :(?
sorry but how is "unkey the mic" were to change the readings on this type of meter .... ? as far as now this is not a variable. when tuning a system ( radio) you are pretty much fine-tuning the "variable" witch is the antenna, so it can perform the best to the radio/'s wave, wire used, and location of this antenna ..
as far as now the mic is just an on an off switch that you use to transmit a signal at wherever frequency the user has selected not changing infrequency, power, color, shape, etc. (not a variable) as for the meter is not a automatic anything. you set the meter (calibrate) it stays were you set it.
now i down know everything there is to know. but if i can find a better way to tune my radios and get better results please i will like to hear it .
Yeah I guess your right now that i think about it. I just always never unkeyed when I checked mine but now that I just checked it didnt make any difference. Anyway I was looking at the same meter today for 49 bucks, might buy it tomorrow. How do you like it?
I got a Cobra 29 LTD classic radio with a K30 mag antenna on my P/U truck (on the center on cab top). When I key the mic, the RED antenna light comes on. I set swr to 1.5 on chnl 1 & 2 on 40chnl. What does this mean? Will it hurt my radio? Thanks...........BoogyMan
a 40 channel radio i will prefer to tun at 19 because of the reason that if i have to run in a higher channel or a lower chanel the radio will perform at its best with out any damage to any conponents / if u only run on chanel 1 or 2 them i will set it to best perform at does channels "swr".. 1.5 swr is good // but try and see what the swr is on chanel 40 and u will see what i am talking about
I have the same meter! Had it for a long time and it still works perfectly.

Your not suppose to unkey the mic when your checking swr.. Thats a false swr reading, everytime you unkey it needs recalibrated..

my antena is a non ajustable type ..
cutting to best fit my radio "wave"
i find it to be more accurate than using a tunable antena sistem..
