its good form... for a bicep workout. When you do a Proper Lat Pulldown you pull using your lats first then arms second, this guy is using mainly his biceps. which is good if you want to work your arms mainly.
@k39564 It will, but keep trying to pull ups also. When I started doing pull ups I could only do 1, but I did 1 every day and I eventually was able to do 2 after about a week. Keep doing it and you'll be doing lots in no time!

Composure is the most important thing to get the best results, not showing off as if it's some kind of competition.

His back is lightly arched which is how it is supposed to be yet he said keep it straight.
It is one of the only exercises you are meant to keep your back arched whilst doing.
