Loved these guys back in the early 80's. Amazing album from some pretty young bucks too. Still one of my faves. While there were other punk/ noisy bands out there ( melvins, etc) these guys definitely had a style all their own, in part because of the ridiculously awesome drumming. Kudos!
this was the first song I ever heard by them, I was on the GSP south just outside of exit 72, and I was listening to WPRB and it started to fade, so I pulled over and backed up so that it came in again, on the shoulder. I never stopped loving them.
Changed my entire idea of what Punk could be when I first heard them in 85. But by that time, we all knew (or thought) that punk was dead, dead or at least dieing. Then, 5 or so years later, I started hearing this stuff which sounded like watered down SB and they called it "Grunge". I STILL get goosebumps hearing SB.
Actually, it's "I don't need no pig stompin' on my BUZZ." Man, what a great band, these guys arrived out of nowhere and just knocked us out. Thanks for posting -- mine's locked in vinyl, no turntable at the moment.
Bought this in Atlanta right after it came out..had heard a single on a local punk show in Birmingham..it was unlike anything I'd ever heard. Their brand of melodic, punk-tinged garage rock would become a staple sound in the 90's, but they were really the only one's doing this stuff in the late 80's..they were innovators and, in my opinion, did more to formulate what would become the "90's sound" than Nirvana.
SO fucking glad I decided to check out this band

what does "i don't need no pig stomping on my buzz" mean exactly?
emptyheadbrokenbones 2 years ago
I think that this means that kid is trying to fight his assailant on the street, so he basically says - get away or something like that.
Lyrically, its all about some of fight which breaks out on the street and involves a lot of kids.

@emptyheadbrokenbones pretty sure it means the cop is bein a buzz-killer for him, that is, ruinin his high of sorts.

It means they don't want some pig faced ass hole like a cop fucking up their good times and opinions.

Ben Daughtry on drums and Petey Searcy on vocals made this band hotter than a urinary tract infection.... great stuff.

@JayProgg
Ever heard of green river and the Melvins???
or Mother Love Bone???ALLL those bands were active in the 80s... and they did plenty. Squirell Bait was not alone.
But they certainly were different then the main stream, and they certainly were amazing.
