With pollution being a real problem CO2 should be kept high. NASA reasearch has shown that CO2 stimulates plants to detoxify air.

CO2 is also plant food. It will help grow biofuels and reduce world hunger.

CO2 levels can rise or fall quickly, they do EVERY YEAR!

The Argo data shows that the oceans are cooling. As they cool the CO2 uptake increases again.

The 200 and 80 year solar cycles are causing earths albedo to climb. Increasing cosmic ray induced cloud cover will cool it.

Also, data shows that earth keeps accumulating heat. recently antarctica is losing ice mass in the East as well. It is losing 196 Gigatonnes every year. Biofuels are conducent to mor ehunger, not less. They deplete soils to produce the same kind of fuels... It's not because they're somewhat less dangerous that they are safe. What is safe is renewables. Safe = sustainable. I don't find it cool to be occupying someone's land to feed cattle and make pollutants while the local population is starving. But this is another debate altogether.

It is a mute point your are making by saying that we have been seeing a less substantial worsening of the situation, even if it was true, which is not, since all IPCC predictions are falling short as optimistic by the most recent observations.

The rate of rise is decling at an accelerating rate. It looks like it will cross zero and the become a decline in the absolute value. "If it aint broke don't fix it"!

If the level ever gets below 100ppm, all plant and animal life may die.

It is interesting to note the beetle has been found help the trees in three ways.

1) Reduction of combustibility

2) Synergistic natural selection which is dependant on climate change!

The real critical point to worry about is when carbon uptake exceeds supply. Only wild bushfires are holding the CO2 level up. Fires in Australia, Spain, Italy, France, Greece, Portugal, Kenya, Canada, Indonesia, Nepal, Sweden, Norway the U.S. and more combine to dwarf 2009 industrial CO2.

Even with all that, the rate of rise has fallen to 1.4ppm for the last year. For the last month the seasonally corrected value fell 387.99ppm to 387.75. Regrowth after the fires mean uptake will increase.
