  • lol holy crap, im lovin this

  • This is beautifully done and illustrates the work far more clearly than other dances I've seen, plus the complexity of the choreography and costumes are very impressive. I have kind of an absurd affection for Mr. Whiskers.

  • Christin,

That was GREAT!!!! I am going to be in Tampa next March for a show....I hope I get to see you. Love,

    Uncle Brian

  • lol this video is pretty interesting. Imagine how much strength one must have to support themselves with a cloth.. Wow that must be really hard. I loved the songs! My favorite was the one that started about 3.20. Very cool with the lights and the fire. That must take some guts to circile fire around your body especially face. Loved the video!

  • Dumbed down? This is brilliant. Scientists are not one dimensional -- hooray!!!

  • Science was poor. Art was great. I felt like I was watching an early rehearsal for a Cirque de Soliel show. I completely failed to understand the scientific message. Come to Vegas. We'll put you to work!

  • Dumbing it down?

QUESTION: Is this more "dumbing it down"? Who will win in the long run - those with the dumbed down knowledge or thosew who did the hard work - digging, questioning, proving and disproving? I suspect this is more dumbed down knowledge for the academically lazy.

  • Wow Matthias your friends are even more of bionerds than I am. I'm impressed.

  • JUST heard about this phenomenon on NPR a few days ago! But hadn't seen your email til today! SO AWESOME!!! Wow.

  • Well - I cannot believe this did not win ... awesome fun video - I do like the tune myself

Drop me a line if you ever head to NYC! Love ya- Iya

  • wow christin, you have really outdone yourself! i'm so glad to see that you are keeping your beautiful spirit alive and spreading your fun and happiness everywhere you go still! take care and congrats on your phd!~shannon

  • Dr. Heidi Harley would be so proud (remember your bacc?)!!!!! :)

  • Interesting. Can't say I've marine science ever presented in quite this way before... brilliant!

A very clever and creative way to demostrate a phenomenon that doesn't come quite so alive in the written word! I love it.

  • Best PhD ever.

  • Brilliant and fun!

  • That is awesome, I love it!!!

  • youre a nerd

  • yeah... she's a nerd because she's applying what she's learned in her PhD program into interpretive dance...

And what have you done with your life?

  • Good entertainment is hard to find. Thanks for the laughs. I love the interpretation. Fish head was cute, along with the fire hoop. Good friend will do anything for you! I look forward to future postings. Good luck with the PHD. Signed-Im with the band.

  • OH MY GOD,I LOVE THIS.

I'm so glad this was part of getting your PhD.

  • Goodluck with your phd...I do have to say though, I didn't get the message it was supposed to be conveying. *sorry*

  • gb is not gay anymore. irl.

  • Absolutely fabulous :)

  • How did I not see this coming? A simple PhD would just be too boring for you, yea? Did put a smile on my face.

  • I'm in the flippin competition, and I hope you win this. (well, I'm in the postdoc category & am the only other marine scientist). This is a masterpiece of kitsch art.

  • oh so awesome....

  • Lobster Stick To Flaming Hoola Hoop!

  • Brilliant!

  • This is wonderful! So clever, symbolic, informative and adorable, what a combination.
