In the movie, Cusack's character is worried that nobody's going to like Jack Black's band. But it bugs me that Cusack is surprised that they end up liking them, simply based on them doing (an admittedly good) cover of "Let's Get It On", aka a pop standard that most people enjoy anyway

And, by the way: "Let's Get It On" is a pop standard, but one of the good ones, and this is really a good version (when I saw the movie the first time, I must have looked as surprised as John Cusack).
