I have all 3 movies in collection. I agree the 1st is and always will be a classic to me (among my top 10 fav sci-fi) however the 2nd was just a cash grab movie, made to make more money due to the success of the 1st. Lastly the 3rd one I found to be very close to the 1st movie in its story of roles of a military controlled government and single minded patrotic propaganda.

the author gave reasonable explanations for the political structure of the Federation. It had little to do with Nazism, but more to do with responsible use of power.
Also, before the Bug War, the general impression was that it was pointless to join the army, because there were no more wars to fight.

The movie is awesome and is better than your average Direct To Video movies. And i thought the visuals for a low budget film were great. The bugs still look good; that's all that matters. Also, the Roku San battle Was pretty cool. I did my part by buying the movie. Are you doing your part?

As bad as this movie was, I did still enjoy the satirical mockery of the republican party and in particular the pro war Christian religious right in America. While this satire lacked subtlety it still provided a scary insight into the one dimensional dogmatic thinking of so many right wing Americans, ie. the unbashed militarism, the pro war mentality, the belief that if one doesn't like war one isn't patriotic, etc. We should always support our country, and our government when it deserves it.
the ppl that are making this movie are making the guy that wrote the book look like an idiot lol. it's very sad. i mean the whole citizen thing makes sense but omg If I could see the Diractor of this movie would slap him in the face for trying to make a fast buck. don't even call it Star ship troopers call it somthing else. really it's sad. if you guys read the book you know what i'm talking about.

The movie is awesome and is better than your average Direct To Video movies. And i thought the visuals for a low budget film were great. The bugs still look good; that's all that matters. Also, the Roku San battle Was pretty cool. I did my part by buying the movie. Are you doing your part?

As bad as this movie was, I did still enjoy the satirical mockery of the republican party and in particular the pro war Christian religious right in America. While this satire lacked subtlety it still provided a scary insight into the one dimensional dogmatic thinking of so many right wing Americans, ie. the unbashed militarism, the pro war mentality, the belief that if one doesn't like war one isn't patriotic, etc. We should always support our country, and our government when it deserves it.

the ppl that are making this movie are making the guy that wrote the book look like an idiot lol. it's very sad. i mean the whole citizen thing makes sense but omg If I could see the Diractor of this movie would slap him in the face for trying to make a fast buck. don't even call it Star ship troopers call it somthing else. really it's sad. if you guys read the book you know what i'm talking about.
