what a lot of the liberal gay population in this city fail to understand, is that Sam Adam's is the worst enemy you guys ever had. Those of you rallying behind the pathetic liar, look like fools & moron's. Worse yet, something you all stamp your feet about -- biasedness leanings based on orientation. Bunch of pathetic liberal double standards. RECALL ADAMS (and get him some counseling)
Do I trust any politician, ever? No. What good would it do me or the city to have someone I trust as Mayor. I trust results, I trust that if Sam Adams continues to be Portland's mayor, there will be better results than if some PBA crony gets elected in a recall.
So, a challenge to you re-call fanatics:
If there is a recall, who do you propose could deliver better results than Sam Adams? I promise that if you can come up with a candidate that could do that, I would vote for them.
Sam's apologists continually claim that he's the only person who can lead this city. Nonsense! Here are some candidates who would work to enact truly progressive policies, would resist the pipedreams of rich developers and sports owners, and (incidentally) not have sex in the city hall bathrooms: Ted Wheeler David Bragdon Kate Brown Erik Sten Nick Fish Bev Stein Diane Rosenbaum Bob Liberty Chip Shields Tina Kotek That enough? Want more?
Thanks for this list, I will do research on these people and come up with an opinion. Although, a quick glance at them doesn't seem to turn up any "winners". Who on this list could stand a chance against someone propped up by the PBA?
And, for the record, I apologize for no one. I don't like any politicians nor do I accept their apologies.
Okay, so I guess you don't have any actual results to point to, though you claim that's your basis for deciding to support Sam.
I'm shocked, though, that you don't recognize any of the names I listed. Are you a Portlander? Ever lived here?
Every one of these people has a history in the public eye, and every one has won elections here, yet you've never heard of them. None are "winners," apparently.
Perhaps you should leave the process of selecting a mayor to people who live in Portland?
I grew up in Vancouver but moved to Portland in 1997.
Did I say I didn't recognize ANY of those names? I have voted for (or would have if I could) some of them. I would need to do quite a bit of research on what they've been up to lately before deciding to vote for any of them. Sten always seemed kinda cool. A lot of them are spoiled brats I wouldn't vote for.
Don't make assumptions on things by what I DIDN'T say.
My "winners" comment was to ask if any of them could win against a PBA shill.
