I've applied for a few jobs on there, and I can assure you that nobody has attempted to kill me, at least that I know of. And if they have, they're really really bad at it. It's no more dangerous than putting an ad in your local newspaper, but you don't have to pay for it.

Also, imagine how many thousand people visit craigslist, and there have been less than a handful of "incidents". Percentage-wise, you probably have a higher threat of death by driving down your average city street.
