Germans in russia and UN forces in Korea hated fighting in close combat because they just simply they couldnt reply with enough volume of fire to the swarms of troops armed with ppsh. The soviet infantry often used tactic of putting a massive wall of fire on germans in which covering troops were firing whole magazines just like you see above. Ppsh was my grandfathers weapons that kind of tactic they used against german mg nests or strongpoints
