I agree. This car looked super exciting and filled with joys to no end but because it is a merc, it is "tamed" as every mercedes is. Its almost a waste of money to convert an SL into a black edition because of the examples stated in this video.

I played around with one on Forza 3 and it had top speed and nothing else. So I reduced the weight, changed the gear box, tweaked the gears (now at 6), and let the bitch run free the way she ought too.

When reviewing cars like this jeremy always says ooooohh its too expensive. But thats irrelevant because the people who buy these types of cars are so rich that the price just isn't an issue. They don't even consider it. They see the car, they want it, they buy it. They're not looking for good value. Most of them will probably never drive it on a track.

i don´t get one thing...why should it differ so much from the SLR...I think it´s better than the SLR. I mean they both weigh about 2 tons , but then the SL black has 40 hp more and about 210 Nm of torque more than the SLR...It´s just better!!!

It looks like a DTM car. It has more horsepower than a DTM car. It has more luxury, plus a little bit more weight than a DTM car. What's not to love about it? (Besides the extra weight, but some luxury is necessary.)

@D111CKY not really. he's talking more about the practicality of the car. the chasis/tires are not built to handle the sort of power/torque engine offers (just like typical American cars) so if you keep it ON and want to pull hard by going full throttle, always traction control will kick in to limit the speed and you will go no where.

And if you turn it OFF, the torque is so much that you will waste the whole power by spinning the wheels and in turn damaging the tires and would need a new set.

@brucecheewai don't know much about foot/pounds. but about mpg - 1 mile = 1.6 kilometres, 1 gallon - aprox. 4 litres. mpg is how much miles you can go on 1 gallon. do the maths)
