@julealgon The reason Idra went vultures and tanks every time was because iefnaij was going for early dragoons every time. He trains with koreans what do you expect? Vultures are the only counter for dragoons.
first of all, deep six or any MnM build would be horrible on this map. you get 1 reaver on the other side of those bridges and guess what? your marines are never getting across. Plus having no 2nd gas does not mean OH GO DEEP SIX. having no gas depletes your tank count, so going deep six actually costs MORE gas. GENIUS BOYS
in addition, if you think P needs more gas than T then you need to do some simple addition. keep in mind every tank is 100 gas. and you need tons
What are you talking about? 'Racks don't cost any gas, and, last time I checked, neither do marines. If I spotted that the 'toss wasn't going reavers on this map, I'd throw down six barracks and spam "m".
hahha yeah and medics don't cost any gas do they? neither does researching stim or marine range... or +1 armor for that matter HMMMM
plus even if they don't initially go reavers, they can still always get them once they see your ridiculous 6 rax. also if they want they can get high temp because they will have a 2nd gas since toss usually is a base up. (and they have more gas stored up than you anyway because goons run fine off 1 gas)
plus marines arent good at crossing bridges vs goons anyway
your stupid, i ve seen this strat work from progamers and you with decent micro you would have an big advance imho, besides it would be cool and unexpected from idra so it could probably WOrk and let him be a bit more incalculable.
and btw iam no idra hater.
i still think a good gamer could pull off a win with it ^^
i'm not saying its impossible, but its not the fucking amazing build all these guys are making it out to be. I like how you call me stupid but don't actually site any specific reasons why the build would be good or bad (other than it would be cool and unexpected)
guess what? nuke rushes are cool and unexpected but they certainly aren't a good build. Learn to play starcraft then start talking shit you illiterate retard.
next time we discuss in german or if you prefer french?
stop bitching around because i don't speak your language 100% correct.
it dosn't matter at all if i play starcraft good or not ( i haven't sc installed anyway)
maybe you can go and read my post once again? i haven't ever said that i know all about sc. i just recently found out about the six rax strat and i thought since marins don't cost any gas and medics arent that expensive either it could work really good. (with tanks aiming reaver
great game by both of these guys... but man, as soon as idra gets a slight advantage he seems to turn it into a huge macro advantage.. favorite part of the series, the second game scout build!
5p1t, the 6 rax switch is called the Deep Six. And it's really risky. It has to surprise your opponent. In general, vulture mines (also all minerals) tend to be more effective vs protoss.
Isn't deep six supposed to use ghosts with nukes and lockdown? That should cost quite a bit of gas.
Something similar to what UpMagic did agains NalRa would surely be awesome though, were he went fast marine range and +1 armor, hiding both his academy and ebay. Loved that game.
I just hate Idra's conservative style. There was nothing innovative in any of those 3 games. He just followed his build order blindly. The most surprising thing he did was make those two marines in the previous game to fight the scout... Very disappointing.
Well, where in my comment did I say Idra wasn't smart? I realize he did play very well, but that wasn't my point at all. Maybe he just loves his tanks a bit too much? Mass factories lead to very boring games in my humble opinion. That's the main reason most of Boxer's games are so entertaining in the first place, and also one of the core reasons why he is praised.
It took Idra 2 games to figure out that if he wants two gas, he should expand to a place that has a second gas.
not too clever. It's not P favoured, HighT and Arbies cost WAY more gas and there are few alternatives, where as vultures and medics are still awesome units (marines would've had a field day due to the lack of HighT on Nostalgia)

lawl, he shoulda gone scout/reaver. It's the ultimate strategy.

alright i'm sorry about the language insult. you're right, I was being a shit.
we'll just have to agree to disagree about deep 6 being good here.

Lame map, and I can see where someone like Idra could be frustrated after the game 1 loss, but no need to be a dick about it.
It isn't lefnaij's fault that they have to play on a shitty map.
>_>

at 5:00 jf did nothing nice, it was just that idra's vults were out of place to kill the probes
omuploii 2 years ago
@ 4:50
Idra was focusing on the probes and cannon instead of the attack force. Pretty good micro imho.
yoshimojo 2 years ago
Man.... I wish I could play like any of those 2.... but Idra is too hard to beat for a protoss...
TRYCLOPS1 2 years ago
I think idra coulda done a lot if he built a dropship or two, the lower left expo coulda gone down to a couple tanks in a dropship fairly easily...

iDra made JF look like a little bitch on a map P shouldn't lose to T on, Idra also had game 1 won.
SadegoGG 2 years ago
Except this map isn't P favored. And the fact that Idra lost a game in a best of 3 is sad, given JF isn't even a top 10 foreign player.

why didn't idra went this "secret 6 rax strat " or how its called, where u go into m&m tanks
i imagine it fucking amazing on this map where u only have 1 gas at start.
would have been fun, wtf is he learing in korea ._.

Yeah Deep Six is what these maps are designed for. No matter; he just went for mass vultures w/mines instead. Not to bad either.

Idra's play is actually really really smart. I doubt you know much about the game if you say hes just playing a build order blindly lol.
Plus in game 2 he did a 2 fact? I mean what more do you want from him
Props to Idra for great play on a jank map I say
