  • One problem... QWERTY was designed to slow down typists by spreading commonly used letters throughout the keyboard, preventing lock-ups on mechanical typewriters.

This will make almost 0 difference in typing speed, maybe saving a few repeat-presses, but that has nothing to with it being QWERTY. Using anti-dvorak would be better by splitting commonly used letters to be the first letter in the list of letters on each button, reducing the number of repeat-presses.

  • I had made one myself a while ago using four keys accross and three down that only had two letters for most of the keys, and it followed the ETAOINSHRDLU pattern to make it as easy as possible

  • I don't see the big deal in this. It's no different than what we currently have on cellphones. And this proposed idea is exactly why there's "txt spek" and why I prefer a qwerty board on my phone.

  • And with this keyboard layout, we wouldn't need that retarded txt spek and we could all just speak normal English like civilized people who don't have to type deficient in order to be liked.

And no, I have no trouble reading 'txt spek', but it looks so much better if you typ normally.

  • If you are using a computer keyboard with QWERTY layout, you would find the layout here is easy to live with. It's a simplified version of the full QWERTY layout in a simple form considering input efficiency.

  • faster texting, duh.

  • to save space and type faster. altho, i'm not sure i want to learn yet another way to type

  • Whats the point?
