Obama has promised, if elected, that he will pass FOCA (the 'Freedom of Choice Act') which will strike down all existing legislation that in any way regulates or restricts abortion, including the ban on partial-birth abortions. A trap is something you have no control over. You have either been decieved or manipulated to this end.

God allows us to make our own decisions, because he doesn't want a bunch of people pretending to accept Him and His way by just saying they believe. God gave us free will, and we should be allowed to use it. You do not have the right to judge someone, as you so put it. Only God does. Let Him do His own work and you live your life the way you see fit to do so.

I love this issue. It demands our philosophy on our selves and our universe. I'd like to see the battle each of our minds go through in this contemplating this, as there never seems to be a right answer. The truth is that 25% of pregnancies are aborted naturally. So those who say abortion is anti-life should look more closely at life. In this perspective, I believe the decision to abort or keep a fetus is the parent's alone. And they will have to hold themselves accountable to it to their end.

Personally, I would never have an abortion. But I would like to have the choice. Why decide for someone else? Its not your choice, its theirs. If they make a "bad" decision, why should it matter to you? Live your life the way you want, but let others make their own decisions. You wouldn't like it very much if someone told you what to do with your own body. This isn't communism, You aren't being told anything to do other than pay your bills and taxes like the rest of the country.

I do have the choice to murder someone, as does every human being. We are defined by the choices we make, that being said, we live in a country where we have the freesom to make them. Everyone has their own God-given free will to make choices. If you personally think abortion is wrong and make the choice not to ever have one, then good for you. But if you don't think it's wrong, or if you do and still have one, you shouldn't be punished for someone else's beliefs.

I can also understand why you believe abortion is murder, and therfore barbaric. Please keep in mind that not everyone agrees with you. Abortion should not be a fundamentally black and white issue. We need to find gray issues where there can be tolerance from both sides. Both liberals and conservatives can agree that we need to find a solution for unwanted teen pregnancies. However, most conservatives believe in abstinence only, and that clearly does not work. Teens need to learn about safe sex.

There are a lot of white voters who won't vote for Obama because he is black, and a lot of black voters who won't vote for McCain because he is white. It'd just something you will have to deal with. Racism is wrong, but there are still people who practice it. However, one is free to vote for who they want, based on whatever they feel is right and while it really is sad they are basing their vote on race, it is their vote, and that's all that matters to them. Sad, but true. Same about sexism.

4. These cases deal with innocent human beings. The central purpose of government is to protect those who cannot protect themselves from aggressive force. A murderer facing the death penalty is not innocent, knew the price of his action, and choose to kill.

4: I think many may be an overstatement, but you are correct. Wrongful is a serious issue. However, the issue of the wrongly convicted is a procedural issue. While it has moral implications, it does not in itself make the very act of capital punishment immoral.
More importantly, my point was that abortion and the death penalty are independent legal and moral issues. The morality or lack thereof of one does not determine the morality of the other.

It is one of the oldest republican tricks: you connect two bills together so that they are both voted on at the same time. One of them is something the democrats support, and one of them is something they oppose, so they have to vote against the one they support! Dishonest! And a 13 year old would not be able to get a legal one without a parent's consent, just so you know. But she would be able to find one on the street, or use an unsafe method herself, like a coat hanger, hot bath, excessive exercise, or punching herself in the stomach. Those are actual acts that women do perform on themselves if they can't find an abortionist. Look it up.

Over 250,000 Iraqi civilians sufferd violent deaths so far as a result of the conflict of the war between the U.S. and Iraq war. Those are people that were killed from U.S. soldiers over the past seven years. And not only have innnocent Iraq civilians been killed, but almost half a million U.S. soliers have been killed since the start of the war. 4. To prevent the birth of a child with birth defects/severe medical problems which are unknown until routine second-trimester tests are done.
5. Pregnancy resulting from rape or incest.
6. Physical or mental conditions that endanger the woman's health if the pregnancy is continued.

So most women who have an abortion weren't planning to become pregnant. They were using some kind of contraceptive method and it failed. And, as the previous facts stated, women will always have abortions, legal or illegal. By keeping abortion legal, we keep it safe so that those very close female friends of yours will still be alive after their abortions to tell you their stories. And its not just women who should use contraceptives, there is a male birth control pill also so men can be safe.
