think about David Tennant, he is scottish has a fairly strong accent but can easily change to fluent english, obviously he feels that his doctor's personality is more comfortable in an english accent but during interviews and outside of doctor who he switches back to scottish

Born/Lived in Bermuda for a few years then returned to England. I think that's a bit of Bermuda in her accent. But yes, once Hugh Laurie (House) shows a British actor is successful in a US show, Fox instantly employs Brit Headey to star in TSCC, and Australian Anna Torv to star in Fringe. Coincidence? I doubt it.
