  • I heard about this song in a Philips commercial back in 2001. That means till now, I was searching for it 10 years.

Internet can make miracles! I had no idea it was a beatles cover. The only part of the lyrics I remembered was the "better".

    Amazing cover

  • Philips brought me here

  • In 1998, Philips Electronics chose Gomez to cover The Beatles song Getting Better for a $100 million ad campaign for Philips new lines of flat panel and high-definition television sets.

  • is not a cover, is a version. and a very good version.

  • If you dont know its from the album "ABANDONED SHOPPING TROLLY HOTLINE" released in 2000 on virgin records track 15, it was also used in the philips duel cd recorder ad, gettin the audio discs for it is very hard, i have the machine other than ordering the discs on line the only place i can get them is in wilkinson superstores.

  • i gotta say this is a great cover

  • i bought a phillips boombox after listening to this

  • the lead singer is the guy at the back bwetween the one with glasses and the guy with glasses. His name is Ben Ottewell...Gomez arwe my favourite band...so i'm full of useless information about them

  • which one of all these dudes is the vocal singer?

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Horrile cover uh ima throw up! PEACE LOVE HARMONY FROM AMERICA!!! By the way try beatles version infinity times better in my opionon.

  • @erscott13 the lead singer is the guy at the back bwetween the one with glasses and the guy with glasses. His name is Ben Ottewell...Gomez arwe my favourite band...so i'm full of useless information about them

  • @Loudfool Thank you! Elisa

  • @erscott13 True for this song, but in actuality, there are three leads: Ian Ball (center in the pic) and Tom Gray (far right) are the other two. I've adored the Mez for years and am looking forward to more music, mischief, and sneaking backstage in 2011...along with a brand spankin' new album!

  • @TheRankledRaconteur righteous dude need more thumbs boy

  • I like this, I like the Beatles' version more, but this is definitely good. Just because it was originally a Beatles song doesn't mean it should be immediately written off.

  • @JesseBochekTV Nothing should be written off, this ain t a bad cover, but IMHO Slade made the best version of this song.

  • where can i find this version of the song for download in a good quality?

  • @katiaft Not sure about where you can download the song, but it's off of Gomez's album Abandoned Shopping Trolley Hotline, if that helps.

  • + u -

  • Better than beatles? Don't be soft, it sounds like students jamming. The beatles were master craftsmen

  • @badge74 Nope this one is not better than the Beatles mr. Prejudice but there was a band that could equal or maybe even better the sound of this song, but I am not gonna argue with Beatles conformists like you so stick with your idols pls.!

  • @proslade I think you'r right... The Beatles are the landmark for all who want to play beat/pop or Rock'n'Roll musica, but it isnot correct to deny the skills of these groups like Gomez

  • @Isithrim88 I don t think I wrote that.

  • @proslade AHAHHA, LOOK AT THIS FAGGOT, HE IS ALL OVER THE PLACE.

HE'S TRYING TO GET MY ADDRESS TO SUCK MY DICK OVER ON THE SLADE VIDEO...WHAT A FAGGOT!

  • I've just enjoyed Rosemary again.

I've got to admit that rousing yourself from ennui and procrastination has its benefits.

  • Gomez's "Abandoned shopping trolley hotline" is one of my favourite albums that I once had. I lent it out and, alas, never got it back.

Call me lazy, but I can't get my hands on it right now. Via Youtube, can anyone suggest other examples from it?

P.S. It doesn't have to contain motion pictures. Just the sound will suffice.

  • better than the beatles

  • @nottoogoo Psssssssssssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhh. Get a grip, mate.

  • IMHO Slade have made the best version of this song

  • I wished they didn't leave out the

    (Tho I can't complain!)

But i suppose it doesn't really matter, I still hear it in my head when it comes to that part.

  • anghè meeel!

  • Check out Fionn Regan's cover of this song, it won't disapoint!

  • Comment removed

  • @ExOh1993 Very disappointed by this insanely stupid depressed version of the song by Fion Regan, that is supposed to contain an upbeat, positive message

  • I love this guy's voice! It's so sexy. Elisa

  • The singer needs a cough drop.

  • oh i thought i wasn't gonna like it..but it's pretty good actually . Nice job.

  • whahaha the beatles version is much better. And they made the song. To cover a song is easy but to make it and wright the text!

  • @gibsontshirt

"Whahahahahat? The Beatles' original is much better, and they wrote the song!

To cover a song is easy, but to come up with the music and lyrics..."
