Thank you for posting this. It's kind of like this person who is 23 keeps on telling me they are going to kill themselves but they never do it. Yet they expect me, a 16 year old girl, to be able to carry their burden. I've told them about every way and method they could go about getting help, but they don't do anything about it. No one can help her until she helps herself. I would know, I've fought depression. She is my friend, but her life is her responsibilty, not mine.

I had a "friend" who kept phoning me at 3 am to tell me he was going to commit suicide. At first I took it seriously and spent hours talking him out of it. Finally I realized he was just seeking attention. So about the fifth time he pulled this shit I just said, 'Good, I'll see you at your funeral.' and hung up. He never called me with suicide threats again. And yes, 20 years later, he's still alive but annoys other people now.

I've been to that dark place and the only and one thing that got me through it, was the intact ability to realize I would devestate my parents if I killed myself. It was my sense of *obligation* towards them (not even love anymore at that point because I was just almost an empty vessel) that ended up saving me. You're never too far gone to realize you have impact on others, even if others no longer have impact on you.
The present me now has traveled to 20 different countries opening chilies restaurants world wide on the chilies world team making 35 dollars an hour paid flight and 3 extra dollar an hour bonus built my own working house, garage and lawn included. All at the early age of 26, it appears my shitty aptitudes at school got made up for by my badass aptitudes at trades and cooking. Haven't stepped foot inside a college and I'm so glad I'm alive today I just had to get out of school.
I had had it up to here with school and people and now I thought I wad born worse than them. I lay down in the hospital and sall the sink cleaner and tried a little drink, by the way to whoever reads this, it didn't kill me, I instead earned turbo diarrhea for about a week. The year finally passed and 8th grade is blurry, high school was downright fun. I was and still am dyslexic and a little a.d.d. so school was never for me anyway.
In 7th grade things only got worse, that bipolar fuck head was in football and he got strong, strong enough to break one ofy legs with his helmet, and instead of helping me out the coach encouraged me to take it like a man and mocked me while I was crying and they were laughing. On that day I went home and got a failing report card with a letter tellling my mom and dad that I wasnt cut out for learning with the other kids and they recommended me to basically get placed with the special kids...
Sorry about the double texts, and I know I'm going to sound as hypocritical as they come but I was suicidal at the early stages of my life (6th and 7th grade) I was a fat kid with a.d.d, dyslexia (try not being able to read doctor seus books till high school and survive that kind of name calling) and a bipolar athletic bully that seemed to just love pushing me to the ground.

I had a "friend" who kept phoning me at 3 am to tell me he was going to commit suicide. At first I took it seriously and spent hours talking him out of it. Finally I realized he was just seeking attention. So about the fifth time he pulled this shit I just said, 'Good, I'll see you at your funeral.' and hung up. He never called me with suicide threats again. And yes, 20 years later, he's still alive but annoys other people now.

I've been to that dark place and the only and one thing that got me through it, was the intact ability to realize I would devestate my parents if I killed myself. It was my sense of *obligation* towards them (not even love anymore at that point because I was just almost an empty vessel) that ended up saving me. You're never too far gone to realize you have impact on others, even if others no longer have impact on you.

The present me now has traveled to 20 different countries opening chilies restaurants world wide on the chilies world team making 35 dollars an hour paid flight and 3 extra dollar an hour bonus built my own working house, garage and lawn included. All at the early age of 26, it appears my shitty aptitudes at school got made up for by my badass aptitudes at trades and cooking. Haven't stepped foot inside a college and I'm so glad I'm alive today I just had to get out of school.

I had had it up to here with school and people and now I thought I wad born worse than them. I lay down in the hospital and sall the sink cleaner and tried a little drink, by the way to whoever reads this, it didn't kill me, I instead earned turbo diarrhea for about a week. The year finally passed and 8th grade is blurry, high school was downright fun. I was and still am dyslexic and a little a.d.d. so school was never for me anyway.

In 7th grade things only got worse, that bipolar fuck head was in football and he got strong, strong enough to break one ofy legs with his helmet, and instead of helping me out the coach encouraged me to take it like a man and mocked me while I was crying and they were laughing. On that day I went home and got a failing report card with a letter tellling my mom and dad that I wasnt cut out for learning with the other kids and they recommended me to basically get placed with the special kids...

Sorry about the double texts, and I know I'm going to sound as hypocritical as they come but I was suicidal at the early stages of my life (6th and 7th grade) I was a fat kid with a.d.d, dyslexia (try not being able to read doctor seus books till high school and survive that kind of name calling) and a bipolar athletic bully that seemed to just love pushing me to the ground.

i feel bad for anyone going through suicidal tendencies and seriously hope they can find something to bring them out of those thoughts and tendencies. everyone deserves to live a rich life. metal helped me find a "constructive release" to my problems and haven't turned back since. obviously this is just one of many solutions but I've met some amazing stories through metal. keep it heavy my friends and find that release. dont give up!

You just have to realize that it could always be worse and you need to see the good in what is happening with you. And if words won't change one's mind on committing suicide then what is it that one would want when asking for help? others can't make you happy, you have to make yourself happy.

Who ever doesn't want to be alive is a hazard to the environment. Unless they kill themselves before hurting other people. Murder-suicides Suck! I realized I wouldn't REALLY kill myself! That's too permanent. I just hung in there and guess what?! I got over it:) Praying and not focusing on negativity helps a lot!
