Lately I have been feeling like Jesus in this scene. There are so many people and causes that need help, but how do you do it without becoming overwhelmed and losing yourself? There is so much to be done, but if a person becomes buried under the responsiblity no can be helped. I GUESS IT IS AN IMPORTANT LESSON. (that's saying a lot, since I am an atheist.)

Then they would be disappointed because He isn't God himself and therefore capable of magic (which isn't possible to begin with) and end up torturing and killing Him.... asking Him for something no human is capable of. What people should have done is ask Him for guidance in how they should live... or even better, watch how He acts and mimic His ways. He is our guide for how we should live our lives now, so should it have been back then.

guys, how about we judge christianity on whether you believe in the ideology, not whether you believe jesus christ existed or not. Its extremely unlikely that a movement that formed itself around a messianic person like Jesus made up that messiah.

I've been visually impaired my whole life. I like this scene because you see the truth behind the glamour. It puts you in the position Jesus was in. Sick people would crowd you, cover you with their sickness. Can you honestly say you would be ok with sick, old, dying people touching you all over? And can you imagine how this would be in today's society? Someone who could heal any disease. A riot would start and everything would be a disaster.

This is a fantastic musical. So many people haven't heard of it. It's a wonderful blend of Jesus' time and our time. It almost feel lighthearted, but it's the whole story. It seems like, if you didn't watch the whole thing, that it would be sacreligious. But when you watch the whole thing, it just tells the entire story, but with singing. Beautifully done. It's not ridiculously depressing like Passion of the Christ. That's just unneccessarily gorey and depressing.

Now watching it again and no longer a believer, I still find myself reacting the same way. That's a sign of a terrific musical; except Herod's Song that just confused me then and still I'd feel no sense of loss with that song gone.
