Maybe this is a dumb question, but why is it that everyone using a GoPro for r/c plane/heli use takes it out of the case? Is it a weight issue? I have several GoPros and have done all sorts of stuff to them, including run one over racing one time, yet the only damage I have is to the case. Considering the likelyhood of an r/c plane crash, I am surprised nobody runs the case. Why is that?

It looks like a lovely piece of kit and well made but why would you take it out of its protective case? It provides protection from everything. Even hard landings.

Rotator mounting - allows the mount to be placed below the fuselage and when landing it rotates the mount to the top of the fuselage. Look on You Tube for: Go Pro Hero retractable

There are several versions of it.
top mounting,
lower mounting - using undercarriage
