Very pretty piece. Not everyone could sing all those parts himself. It's nicely somewhere between the King's Singers and the Beach Boys. I guess singing with yourself like this is like singing with your brothers. Just a little easier to control the relationships I imagine.

I have never before heard this selection, and find it completely captivating--and reassuringly beautiful. The bird calls serving as a "frame" are a very nice touch!

A delightful interpretation of what is surely one of the loveliest short choral works ever written. I remember conducting a performance of it by singers from the Durham Colleges Light Opera Group late one balmy June evening in 1962 (?) along with Delius's "To be sung on the water". We had taken out punts on the Rive Wear ............
