So grateful to see this special. One of the best things to come out of the oft-maligned New Wave safety net title was hearing such great 'dangerous' hits by Nick and Dave on the radio. Pure Pop for Now People, Get It, Tracks on Wax 4, and Labour Of Lust were a best friend to my ears back in 10th grade. Wish they had more success as Rockpile past Seconds Of Pleasure but sometimes things actually work out for the best the way they do. Cheers!
In addition to their album "Seconds Of Pleasure", you can also find Rockpile studio recordings on Nick Lowe's albums: "Pure Pop For Now People" (released in Great Britain with the title of "Jesus Of Cool") and "Labour Of Lust".
In addition to their album "Seconds Of Pleasure", you can find Rockpile studio recordings on Dave Edmunds' albums: "Get It" (minus Billy Bremner), "Tracks On Wax 4", "Repeat When Necessary", and "Twangin".
@bushface1327 Yeah, that's Keith. He was in the film STARDUST with Edmunds, as a member of the band in the film - small role. He had played the same role in the film THAT'LL BE THE DAY (STARDUST was the sequel), which is the only one of the two films available legitimately (though, there are plenty of bootlegs around of STARDUST).
@knowvirtuoso Really? A legit release? Wait, this must be a UK release, right? I'm in the US, and I think the securing of the music rights to all the 50s/early 60s tunes in the first part of Stardust are what is preventing its legit release over here. Man, I could really use a multi-region DVD player! Thanks for the info, though.
Drink in one hand, cigarette in the other. I'll bet they always worked that way; I wonder if that makes it easier or harder to sing. It's a wonder both Dave and Nick are still alive. Thanks for posting all of these! After years of hearing the finished product, it's interesting to see how they put it together.
nick lowe was in stardust tooo in a support band which seemed to consist of most of brinsley swartz

Great to see this after all these years. I saw it when originally broadcast and taped the audio which I eventually burnt onto CD. A real treat!

After three drinks or so you can't "hear" notes properly, music gets sloppy. Ideally, musicians record on two drinks.
