I've had a eris and moto droid. The eris is like the playstation 1 of the sony series. Its slow and laggful. I have a moto droid now soon to get the droid bionic and i can play alot more games that i couldnt play on the eris. Due to the slow ass processor.

You can't go with the phone they have on display, those phones are always a lot worse than the ones they'll sell you. Some due to the wear and tear of so many people playing with it, but the phone dealers KNOW that so they're not going to risk a prime piece of merchandise. You should always ask to touch one out of the box.

Hey, 3lite, how's the battery life on the eris? I listen to my iPod a lot, and I was hoping I could get this phone to replace my iPod so I don't have to carry both a phone and an iPod everywhere. The vzw site said the phone has 3 hours of usage time or something like that. So does that mean I would be able to listen to music for 3 hours before i had to recharge?

It CAN actually multitouch. It is more of that they will get sued if they use mutlitouch as a default function. Applications such as Dolphin Browser and other applications DO use mutlitouch as a feature. The phone CAN use mutlitouch but in the US they are not allowed to.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I preferred the Eris over the Motorola Droid. The Motorola doesn't have multi-touch, but the Eris does. I like that.

@eddiemsmith The Droid actually does support multi-touch, just not in the default browser. Most of the downloadable browsers from the marketplace do support it, such as Dolphin.

It is POSSIBLE... Get a free .apk and get Linda Manager but you will either have to find a store selling the .apk on the internet for the computer to download... and then put it on your SD card and then install it... It is more work :)

Can you get a photo flash app on the eris like you can on the iPhone? thats the only thing stopping me from getting the Eris. I use the camera on my phone alot and a flash is nice to have for dim light n night time shots.

The droid eris does not have a flash if that is what you mean. But in comparison the Droid Eris does work better in the dark then the Droid.

well i was just curious if they have an app like the iphone has its called photo flash or one called photo plus. i guess it fixs the photo after its taken acting as a flash and making it easy to see even shots taken in the dark. im new to the whole app thing.

currently iphone has more apps but the droid will soon catch up. I would say choose between those two depending if At&T or Verizon works better in your area.
