And calling mustelids "the weasel family" is inaccurate. Badgers, wolverines, polecats, ferrets, and many other species are mustelids, and by some definitions skunks and raccoons are as well. Weasels are certainly a large and prolific part of the mustelid family but they're by no means the whole of it.

Actually, a "stoat" is infact a weasel. It is in the Weasel family Mustelid. There are Long Tailed Weasels, Short Tailed Weasels (which are called Stoats or Ermine), and also Least Weasels, which seldom get bigger than 9" total. However, other mustelids like the Wolverine and Marten are also "weasels".
