Now before you want to kill me lol all I have to say is this Oakland is famous for it's defense just like Texas is famous for it's offensive unit and if the your bullpen and pitching staff are giving up tons of runs each night. There Claiming the source of the problem is communication then yeah Geren needs to get the boot it should have happened alot sooner.
@12stanhumphries He kept it for finishing 81-81 last season. It also took some time for Beane to find a replacement. The defense has been awful... very error prone.
@jbeachboy1 We would take even a further step backward if Beane gets fired. That's not happening anytime soon. The ownership situation is screwed... and probably will be awful for awhile.
@jbeachboy1 The bullpen has been underrated, If used properly they can be fine. Yea, screw ups happen, but it's not as painful as say.. the Rangers bullpen.
@jbeachboy1 Owner. All of us HATE Lew Wolff. The Bullpen is ok. It's a little down now, but relationships with Geren were bad. Tim Hudson's contract was up, he had to go. It's one of the few trades we've lost. Jason Giambi left for FREE AGENCY... something none of us can help. The Owner wants to move this team out of Oakland... he barely cares about winning or not. At least Al Davis actually has the will to win.
@jbeachboy1 He used the lineup like candy. Take a look at the tactical lineup changes he had against the SF Giants this year. It cost us two games and a series. He uses the bullpen like candy, as my video said. 2009 showed his true incompetence
@jbeachboy1 The Starting pitching is elite and a new Hudson, Zito, Mulder. It doesn't happen overnight to create a starting pitching staff. Brett Anderson was acquired when we traded Haren, Gio Gonzalez came when we dumped Nick Swisher to the white sox, and Cahill is a home grown 2nd round pick of 2006. We'll see what happens, but we do have room to spend, it's better than splurging on Adrian Beltre. Gotta be careful what you spend on.
@jbeachboy1 Beane has done what he could. The Free Agency last offseason wasn't a highly rated class. The big thing is, most of the starting A's lineup (5 of 9) will be Free Agents this offseason, so I'm expecting easy changes to the hitting lineup. Geren has been idiotic for quite some time. If you're going to call Beane Overrated, something is wrong, it's just a book that got more attention.
I thought that Billy Beane should have waited a little while since we had all of those injuries...but I DO understand Beane making his decision after the humiliation of being swept by the ORIOLES!
(BTW, I went to Monday's and Wednesday's games in Baltimore...they weren't much fun to watch. The bad defense on Monday was especially disenheartening to watch.)
Geren did had a bad habit of monkeying around with the lineup, I don't really see much improvement for this year -- again, the injuries!

Bob Melvin was a great manager for the Dbacks in 07. Even though I'm a Giants fan I have a lot of respect for him.
