Morgan Freeman is a pig. He cheated on his wife with her grandchild for 10 years before she found out. He also injured a 'so-called' female friend in a car crash after drinking. He then refused to make a public statement stating that they were only friends, even though his female friend asked him to. He also refused to pay her medical bills. Nice guy. I loved him until he showed his true colors. Done, done and done.

I find it ironic how a company that is actively preventing the Olympics from using any other card can preach about "coming together". Maybe Visa are the ones that need to put aside their differences with Mastercard...
Anyone else thinking "Orwellian" when the 2012 Olympics say they are "proud to accept only Visa"? Does doublespeak mean anything to these people?
@Tommyksan It's called a sponsorship deal, and Visa has the exclusive rights to the Olympics because they are willing to pay more than Mastercard... Fuck, if I had enough money and sway I could get exclusive rights. Capitalism's a beautiful thing...
in my opinion the olympics are about the world coming together and put aside the troublesand differences and enjoying this world for what it was meant for
well technically yes But if you look at it from another point of view, the Olympics is about being glad for our fellow man won even though they are not from our country. They are putting their whole lives, and ambitions into that 1 moment of truth. In my opinion that is what the Olympics is about, being happy even if it is not a person from our country or someone we know directly, being proud of them and enjoying this moment of glory with them while they sing their national anthem.
I love the Visa's campaigns for the Olympics, I love the spirit of the Olympics, when people from all over the world come together to compete in peace.
@MMegaminx if you took the time to see. you would've noticed that i'm a voice actor and narrator that's why i wrote this comment. but all you saw was an opportunity to show off and to insult someone.
@ccnea dude calm down. how was i showing off by saying i would have a certain person narrate me life? it's not like i'm going to calm them up and have them follow me around. god, relax. how would i even know you're a voice actor?
Aw, that's just Morgan Freeman. He could do a commercial on the most absurd thing such as chilly cheese dogs, or slim fast tablets, and the commercial would still sound epic.
"we don't always agree, but for a few shining weeks, we set it all aside we come together to stand and cheer and celebrate as one. We forget all the things that make us different and remember all the things that make us the same [GO WORLD]" not gonna lie, this brings tears to my eyes.
It's not about that. It's an honor to host an Olympic Games You're missing the point, just because there are impoverished people in the world doesn't mean we shouldn't celebrate Life and Unity.
I think the Opening ceremony was one of the most incredible shows Ive ever seen. China has an incredible GDP growth rate, good for them if they are being unselfish by spending a lot of money on the opening ceremonies and the Olympic Games.
Funy how at least 10% of the chinese population are under the povertyline, and that is chinese statistics which are dubious at best. if we do take this ten percnt then about thirteen million live under the povertyline.
This maybea stupid question but do you think the hearts of these thirteen million people fill with pride at the so called unity of the olmpic games or are they going to wonder about there next meal?
Like I said before, you're missing the entire point. It's an honor for the Host country. Just because we have people living in poverty doesn't mean we should stop celebrating life and unity among countries.
Excuse me I meant one hundred and thirty million people. Sorry
The government has not right it to spend 100s of billions of dollars while ordinary people suffer from the lack of basic needs.
When 130 mill people receive less than a dollar a day Should there government spends 100s of billions on the Olympic Games? To acquire an honour that has no correlation with those poor what so ever. I would think that those 130 million people would rather have no honour and a meal then honour with no meal
We should still have the Olympics we should, just not spend 100s of billions on architectural monstrosities.
Should we give the so called honour of the Olympics to a government that treats its people in an a disgraceful way, should we give a government the honour of the Olympic games when they send there military in to quell peaceful protests...killing thousands people. A government who actively suppresses free press and a government who blocks all sources of information accept for its own?

ahhhhhh this makes 130 million people, in china living off less than a dollar a day irrelevant? I never knew?
Interesting if unrelated point, if china used 150 billion dollars, it could create a health care system for those 130 million that functioned without being biased.
also curious though this may sound, but most people do think 130 million people are more important than having a multibillion dollar stadium.
If we always should think like that, then there should be no sport at all right? No cinemas, no museums, no nice parks, no nice buildings! Everything should just go to the poor right! =)
Can I ask you, what are your hobby? And what do you like doing with your friends?
If you and your friends never went to cinema and never used your money on candy and soda and alkohol, you could have saved thousends of lifes. Is that not worth it?
the state is required to look after it people. there first and foremost obligatoion is to look after the needs of its people. when 130 million people are living under a dollar a day i do not think the state is looking after those people.

The state is a body that is representational of the entire country. I am a Individual.
The state should not spend hundres of billions of dollars, while it only benifits a very small margin of the poplulation, this margin came be represented as under one percent.
When 130 and thirty million people are in poverty, in china, the state cannot spend 100s of billions on stadiums that do not benfit them.
Please despence with the vulgar language, we are not 12 years old.
Okey. Seen the movie "Sicko" from Micheal Moore? Download or buy it, but see the extra material, about Norway, we have by far the best healt system in the world. Thats how you should help your nation. Look at USA, if they used half of the money from military expences to the poor, there would be no poor people in USA. You should run more and talk less, you have Peter Snell to live up to:)
On a minor note, the sort of capabilities & industry required to build these stadiums acts a HUGE advertisement for the trade potential and industrial capacity of the nation, which could partially be accountable for the trade boom in China, bringing jobs to many destitute.
More notably is the fact that the Water Cube and the Bird's Nest TOGETHER cost less than a billion US dollars. So by saying the Chinese government is wasting hundreds of billions you sound like a tool. Learn to google.
i love the olympics for the simple fact that when they are going on,everyone seems to get along and we can watch such amazing athletes strive for gold and sometimes struggle knowing that 6 billion of us will be there to pick that back up for a second attempt or pat them on the back for a well-done no matter what place they earn. People around the world should learn we all need to love each other, help each other. Because when one of struggle, all of us struggle. We are all people, we are one.
it was my first time watching them also. i wasnt even planning on it actually. but im so glad i watched them, i was blown away! only 1383 days until london 2012!

hey but does anyone have the source to the longer version of this. Because when the olympics was ending they showed a longer version of this with inspiring thoughts from this guy's voice. Anyone know what i'm talking about?
and okay, this might be a little on the side of propaganda, but its amazing, and the idea is great. Yes lets contenue all the violence in favor of peace aye? This Commercial has nothing to do with Communism, and has everything to do with Morgan Freeman being awesome.
Tell me why I just sent an email to the Visa people about that ONE commercial! I AM HUMAN and I want to see that commercial that EVERYONE is looking for!!!! It's My Favorite!!!!!!!
Dear gd, for the love of the YouTube viewers please someone put that other commercial where they explain how we are all human. That is honestly the best "Go World" ad there is, it just give me a warm feeling inside and I really would like to watch it once more.
The "we are human" one (which doesn't focus on any athlete) isn't here or anywhere. it's not even on VISA's website. it seems like other people want to see it....what gives?
I love the entire 2008 Visa "go world" Olympic campaign, but I am baffled as to why I cannot find my favorite one. Similar to this one - it speaks of us rooting for anybody, not just Americans because they are human and we are human, etc etc. "...because when they succeed, we succeed." If anybody finds this commercial PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know.
Yeah, out of all the commericals that they have on Visa's main site that one isn't one of them! I'm trying to get the name of that piece that was playin in the background of that commerical.
One of these ads is missing. I know I saw one on NBC with Morgan Freeman that didn't feature an athlete. It was about how we could all celebrate the olympics and feel accomplishment merely because these incredible athletes are human and we're human too. Anyone know this ad?

one hundred billion dollars on a stadium that costs 25 dollars to get in isnt exactly promoting sport.

and okay, this might be a little on the side of propaganda, but its amazing, and the idea is great. Yes lets contenue all the violence in favor of peace aye? This Commercial has nothing to do with Communism, and has everything to do with Morgan Freeman being awesome.

I believe all of you guys would love to lick Morgan's balls. He isn't God, he's just a bad driver with a nice voice and full of money.

Wow, you sure are a jerk. If you don't like Morgan Freeman, DON'T WATCH THE COMMERCIALS. You don't have to go out of your way to insult people.
I love these commercials and the messages that they give.

Morgan Freeman should take driving classes before teaching the world lessons.

Dear gd, for the love of the YouTube viewers please someone put that other commercial where they explain how we are all human. That is honestly the best "Go World" ad there is, it just give me a warm feeling inside and I really would like to watch it once more.

morgan freeman seems to always be the actor/voice of the old uncle or long lost friend and guru. morgan freeman is my hero
theonlykasadilla 3 years ago 2
The "we are human" one (which doesn't focus on any athlete) isn't here or anywhere. it's not even on VISA's website. it seems like other people want to see it....what gives?

I love the entire 2008 Visa "go world" Olympic campaign, but I am baffled as to why I cannot find my favorite one. Similar to this one - it speaks of us rooting for anybody, not just Americans because they are human and we are human, etc etc. "...because when they succeed, we succeed." If anybody finds this commercial PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know.

I love these commercials. I just hope that one day most of the world will be like the olympics are every 2 years.
Satellitegirl41 3 years ago
They are held every four years not two.
gbenay 3 years ago
There's an "olympics" every 2. Summer and Winter alternate. In 2 more years there will be the Winter Olympics.
Satellitegirl41 3 years ago
no, the summer olympic games are held every four years. the winter and summer switch off. every 2 years

One of these ads is missing. I know I saw one on NBC with Morgan Freeman that didn't feature an athlete. It was about how we could all celebrate the olympics and feel accomplishment merely because these incredible athletes are human and we're human too. Anyone know this ad?
