@DbaBro1 Although I do agree that moving your hands does create heat, I doubt it would create enough heat to bend a spoon, or in this case a fork (which was very thin metal).
@theoriginalJASONXYZ how would you know? if you actually had psychokinetic abilities you would know that it helps a lot to have your "bio-field" within reach of he object you want to manipulate...thus said,if your hands are closer..the easier it is for your mind to get to it...
@GavinClementMelanson lol. u know its a trick fork in the video right?.. I DON'T know absolutely for sure that psychokinesis doesn't exist. I just have absolutely no reason to believe it does. cause every video Ive ever seen is an obvious fake, like this one.
@theoriginalJASONXYZ yeah im aware of that, but im just letting you know ;) and yeah i can see why its so hard to believe...its something you have to see for yourself but there are legit psychokinetics :P im not telling you to take my word for it...but look it up on sites that aren't filled with 8 to 13 year old wanabes ;)
here's a natural way of explaining this, instead of believing in supernatural powers: that fork is a fake,I mean it looks and glows like it's made of metal but is something softer like plastic. There are thin cables attatched to the both ends of the fork and those cables go through the table through tiny holes,so that you can straighten a bent fork when those cables are pulled under the table. That's what goes on in this video and when you play it backwards it looks like you're bending the fork.
@SunriseNYC999: That doesn't make a difference forward or backwards. Let's say it was played backwards. If it were played foward, he would've been bending the spoon down without touching it. So it would be the same type of thing either way.
Skeptics here r commenting even when they hve not seen this so-called 'trick' in person. They totally dismiss it out of a lack of logical explanation, n come up with feeble attempts tht it is a trick fork/an illusion. See it in person or let it happen in your own palms, then reassess your perception & views.
Until then, don't sound like a Mr-Know-It-All...the bigotry is quite annoying, really. There is much left to be discovered in this world. A mere 50-year existence is nothing by comparison.
Devonbuy, how are you any better blindly believing it is true? You disregard logic and evidence, and rather use you're childish wish for magic to be real to guide your beliefs. You're a retard.
And you're childish by resorting to name-calling. Talk like a proper educated person, and bring forth your own evidence to support otherwise. Not everything can be explained by logic and scientific evidence...you cannot explain love with logic. Maybe you have never been in love, or need logic to love your spouse.
If you've never seen or felt this in person, I suggest you not to comment in order not to look like a fool.
I don't think you're even old enough to understand the ways of the world...
Explain the mother who could lift the car to save her child in danger. Adrenaline? Most likely, but I could point a gun to your head, u probably can't lift it an inch with all your adrenaline. Adrenaline and power of love...maybe.
I suppose premonition, deja vu, psychic energy, poltergeist & placebo/nocebo all don't make sense to u. I'm sure you've experienced at least one of the above, but probably dismissed it out of ignorance n lack of knowledge.
The placebo effect does have scientific evidence to back it up, if that's what you were talking about. Deja vu is not paranormal, it's a normal occurrence. You feel smart, putting out what you think are philosophical questions. You live in a fucking fantasy world and then you mock the bible? You're in the same position as religious people. You have no evidence, you have no proof, but you won't change you're mind no matter how many times you've been proven wrong.
Maybe it does. But my point is do you need to understand/have hard evidence to appreciate placebo for what it does? I don't think u even know the true mechanics of placebo, yet exploit it like real cure. I don't too. But it works for me when i want it to.
I may be in the same position as religious people, but the difference is I accept things (within limits) to be true until proven otherwise, without condemning people like u did by calling them a retard. Therein lies the difference between us.
If we're on the same page on a placebo, if someone gave someone an aspirin, but told them it was Viagra, they might get a boner from it. It's been well documented, but only to a certain extent. You think that I'm the close-minded one, but I'm the one here looking at both sides. I see the evidence for both parties, and I choose which one is better. You could easily change my mind if you showed me clear evidence of your "powers".
I am a first degree reiki practitioner. Once, I had a pain on my right shoulder blade that lasted for days but did nothing about. One day when I was at a shopping mall, it had become too unbearable and decided to apply reiki to it. I used only an image of my smoky quartz crystal in my head n placed my left hand on my right shoulder. In 2 minutes the pain which had lasted for days was gone for good! Placebo? Maybe. I didn't need evidence/explanation to use this "power".
I am also a Quantum Touch practitioner at the most basic level.
My wife suffers from scoliosis and I have applied QT on my wife's spinal column. In a 2-hour treatment, I had corrected my wife's spine much better than all the chiropractor and western medical treatments had in the past since she has suffered it.
Quantum Touch is quite well documented online. There's evidence that it works, but i don't think there's an explanation that the science community will accept. If so, how? Dismiss it?
Deja vu is chance. A lot of people in this day in age have high cholesterol, a high fat-diet, and clogged arteries. You don't necessarily remember the specifics of a dream. When you're wife saw the children, she might have just assumed they were at the correct age. How do you know you corrected your wife's spine? You may have made her think you did, but there's no evidence. Even if it did help, it's again the placebo effect.
The way u explained it, it is obvious u have a very poor understanding of deja vu. My boss who smokes more than he eats unhealthily is more likely to die from lung cancer than a heart attack. Most people don't remember the specifics of a dream, maybe u don't...but some people do. Those who are interested to investigate further often write down the details of their dreams the moment they wake.
I suppose dreams don't make much sense to u...likely for someone devoid of the finer meanings of life.
That is simple. Just ask the patient! No evidence needed. Sometimes I think u complicate things more than they need to b, n in the process lose sight abt how simple they can b.
My wife's back is already more straight and can be verified visually considering how slanted it was before. Lower back now less pain. Another simple test, sitting on any chair, she now has both shoulders (previously one) touching the chair. Only retards (like me) would need a ruler to confirm something as simple as this.
Sometimes I dream something and it eventually happens. The only, true explanation is that shit happens and sometimes you guess right. I can sometimes finish people's sentences, other people can finish mine. How is that a special ability or even paranormal if everyone can do it? It's just a guess and sometimes you guess well. Nothing more, nothing less. Also, you may have spoken of your boss' children to your wife. Although she may have forgotten, her subconscious might not have.
I guessed u were going to mention the things u did. That's the usual response from people who doesn't truly understand deja vu. It's NOT the completing of people's sentences. That's intuition or just plain intelligence. This is SEEING the exact same setting as u did, everything in its EXACT place. You could classify this as clairvoyance, but i believe this word (as are many else) is not in your vocabulary. If it is, obviously there's little that u know about it, but yet want to (try to) comment.
The scientific community accepts it as the placebo effect, sorry they don't want to agree that you have magic powers, but science isn't supposed to be fair, it's supposed to be logical. Something is studied, evidence is gathered, conclusions are made, and conclusions are peer-edited.
You don't have to convince me about science. I am a science graduate, I started studying mid school science at the age of 8, and did college physics at the age of 13. My job and career today depends on my knowledge of science to keep people alive. I still rely on evidence, facts and figures, but that doesn't stop me from accepting new ideas that SOUND logical, not necessarily PROVEN logical. Science can only go so far, before it stops short of any explanation. You should know that by now.
The way I see deja vu is that you see something happening, and then it happens. You think of something before it happens. It's a normal occurrence to imagine something before it happens. You can dream something, and than you believe it happens. The point is that you can't trust yourself. You can think it was actually what you dreamed, but you can't be positive. Accepting ideas that SOUND logical is illogical. You could have saved some characters by saying you accept new, illogical ideas.
Come on...u yourself accept ideas that sound logical on a daily basis! You drink 8 glasses of water a day for optimum health, u stay away from egg yolk to reduce cholesterol...eventhough these have been proven otherwise, or remain to be investigated.
My earliest post still applies...the bigotry can b really annoying - a Mr Know-It-All who doesn't yet realise that man's understanding of the world is never absolute but only partial truths. If u understood this, u wouldn't b talking the way u are.
Devonbuy, all I'm stating is that all these supposedly paranormal powers can be recreated using simple tricks. Psychic abilities can be recreated using cold reading. If I'm really asked to make the decision where I believe the psychic, or the person who says he's not psychic and can do exactly what the psychic can do, who am I going to believe? If scientists show why telling someone you fixed something can fix it, why would I believe in quantum touch?
There's even proof that prayers can help heal a person. Do I accept this as true? Somewhat. But that doesn't mean that it's God doing the work. It's just the human mind. Here's an example of a type of placebo effect. You stub your finger, you look through binoculars in reverse at your finger, which makes it look smaller. This makes your brain think there is less pain to be felt. Does that mean all the pain went away? No, it just means that you think it's not as painful.
Science doesn't have the answer to everything. But it has come up with answers for these tricks. Psychics have been debunked, mental spoon benders have been debunked, and psychic surgeons have been debunked. Could there be real psychics out there? Maybe. But if they can do what they say they can, why don't they just take Randi's challenge and the million dollars?
Sorry, been busy. Let me try to address this question.
Take my case. I can heal family members, friends and myself very effectively with reiki. If I was told to try and prove this under lights and camera, I don't think I could pull it. Maybe I don't work well under pressure. Put in a situation like that, despite already having proven the gift I have acquired, I would have been debunked. Does that mean i can't heal people and myself? No.
To the better psychics out there, why not? Let me answer.
Take another example. As a violinist and pianist, I play reasonably well at home entertaining guests and family members. I sound like a seasoned professional and why not? I have been an active musician for the last 25 years of my life. I have played in many high profile concerts as well. But put me centre-stage under a spotlight with a solo piece and a discerning audience and all of a sudden, I'm no better than a novice. Does that mean I play the violin terribly? No. I'd like to think that! ;-)
It is this reason that many great musicians shy away from the solo scene and take orchestral desk jobs instead. Even seasoned soloists have admitted trembling when playing on stage, and many are nervous during recording sessions. some even resort to superstitious acts before giving a concert, like Vanessa-Mae.
Nigel Kennedy, whom I've had the pleasure of knowing personally, was already a remarkable violinist before he became famous. Before he became a multi-millionaire as a solo artiste...
...he had clinched a perfect 100% score for his diploma, the first ever, with his rendition of the Brahms Concerto. He could have taken part in the Queen Elixabeth international violin competition then, boost his
career and stand a chance to make £10,000 along the way? I'm sure he could use the money. Why didn't he? Perhaps the same reasons psychics don't take Randi's challenge? Perhaps some people don't have a need to prove themselves, or make money that way. I believe so. What do you think?
Take another example closer to home, something you could relate to perhaps. This is something that applies to me as well. As a speaker, I do extremely well when addressing a conference room of about 15 to 20 people. I also love talking when i'm with a group of friends. Now put me in a big seminar room in front of 200 people to talk about something i'm really good at, and all of a sudden my tongue gets tied. I would have looked like, as you've put it, a retard on stage, making a fool of myself...
...Honestly, I wouldn't b interested if someone offered me $100,000 to participate in a speech-giving contest on TV. Bound to only embarrass myself.
A more delicate operation like proving psychic abilities would have crumbled on stage. Bear in mind, the majority of psychics probably require concentration and a calm environment to operate in and thus would fail miserably under Randi's spotlight/cameras. I believe Randi knows that himself!
Hey, thanks for the change in tone. I appreciate it! ;-)
You make a very good point, and I completely agree with you on everything you said. And yes, it's very obvious that there is a definite possibility of pressure when being tested. But, your healing powers can be explained scientifically. Technically, you do have the power to heal people, but it's nothing paranormal. It's placebo. And psychic abilities can be recreated using cold reading. No offense, but I just don't have the mentality to put faith into something like that.
Furthermore...psychics are neither great orators or excellent showmen, and would definitely crack under pressure.
Yes, there is strong scientific backing for Quantum Touch, n it's based on entrainment of one body to another, where the less healthy adapts to the healthier person. This is similiarly observed in heartbeats n menstrual period synching in matching rhythms when in close vicinity after some time.
Unfortunately, it's not as easy to explain reiki (energy channelling) scientifically.
Despite the lack of scientific backing, I personally find reiki to be more effective, at least in the results that i get. No evidence to show for it, so I don't blame you for being unable to place faith here. It may not be entirely accurate to say it's placebo as well, as it is only an assumption it is placebo, hence maybe only 60-70% likely it's placebo. There's still that remaining 30% that we may not yet understand, and for all we know, that could be the real absolute truth that we'd ignored.
Cold readings used by conmen, mentalists n fake psychics have taken away the credibility of the real McCoys. I think real psychics are less commercialised who have no reason to prove themselves beyond necessity.
I highly recommend tat u read the book "We Don't Die: George Anderson's Conversations with the Other Side" available at Amazon. I'd like to also suggest u read some of the readers' comments there which r applicable to wat we've discussed.
George Anderson had always ensured there's no input of information before he did a reading, no last names, to avoid being accused of cold reading. He's a true psychic who's done it successfully on TV with a live audience, despite initial objection. Why he doesn't take Randi's challenge...I guess it's not important anymore.
Nostradamus's predictions have also been incredibly remarkable, leaving aside his quatrains if u find them too ambiguous. Closer in time, Edgar Cayce is another true psychic.
When you really look into Nostradamus, he's not very impressive, at least to me. He's made thousands of predictions, and a few of them have come true. And the ones that came true were extremely vague. I'll look into George Anderson.
By the way, cold reading doesn't require any information. That's hot reading. I watched a video on youtube about Anderson, and to me it still seems like cold reading. He's saying things very similar to that of Sylvia Browne and John Edward. I'll continue to look in to it, though.
You can say they're may not be a million dollars, you can say that they're is too much paperwork, and you can even say they don't need the money. But even if there isn't a million dollars or there is too much paperwork, isn't it worth it to prove it to skeptics world wide? If they don't need the money, can't they just give it to a charity?
I understand you're trying to insult my intelligence, which is something you scolded me for earlier when I called you a "retard". I see you want to show me how intelligent you truly are by showing how you excelled in science at an early age. You're just making excuses for your own stupidity. I ask for proof, you give me personal experience. You're a retard. Good day to you, 'mam.
Given that the circumstances cannot be explained scientifically, all I could offer you were personal experiences, not proof. I thought we had established that already. I guess you don't put two and two very well.
Your resorting to more name-calling only shows that u have run out of points to argue with. I have debated with more eloquent people standing on your side when it comes to these topics. You're beginning to sound like you're intimidated by me. Understandable...they all are, eventually.
I warned you about commenting on things you know little about. You are already beginning to sound like a fool trying to make the best of his last few points. It really doesn't matter whether you call me a retard, idiot or moron...your choice of words only expose your childish mentality n the way you were brought up. Judging by the way you've brought your points so far, you're far from being qualified to even debate on any topic. I feel sorry for your parents for having a child like you. Grow up!
I revealed my background as far as science, evidence and figures are concerned, so that we can establish our level of communication. I was hoping you would reveal your background as well so that I know I'm not wasting my time arguing with a school kid.
Now it doesn't matter whether you are still schooling or are an adult. It seems I've wasted time arguing with someone who graduated elementary school at best, and uneducated at worst.
Deja vu is a normal occurence yes, but is there a REAL explanation for it? I take it when u say normal occurence u accept it as a valid phenomenon then. How is it then that deja vu allows us to see the exact event happening in our dream, only to be unfolded months or years later? There was a time when i've had 3 deja vus in a week, and could tell the EXACT words the next person in the room was going to say, who was wearing the exact same clothes, in the exact same settings as it had appeared...
My wife had a dream 9 months ago of my boss lying dead from a heart attack. She was so disturbed that she groaned during sleep. I asked her the next morning about the groan n she told me about it. I went to office, told my boss the exact scenario, which he initially dismissed. Later that night, he could not sleep well given the scenario my wife had in the dream was uncannily accurate eventhough my wife knows nothing about my boss and his family, aside from his face. He was warded a week later...
...for flu. Recalling my wife's dream, he decided to conveniently do a checkup on his heart, n was told it was severely blocked. An angio was impossible, so he did a bypass.
In my wife's dream, he laid stone cold surrounded by his wife and three children, 2 girls and a boy, the elder girl wearing a headgear. Remember, my wife doesn't know my boss's family, how many children he has, their dressing style...but now she does.
My boss is a devout Muslim who absolutely dismisses these things...
...as only Allah can tell what the future holds, no mere mortal can. He could have easily dismissed my wife's dream and ended up dead before he could see his children grow. If he had also insisted on hard evidence for the way these things work - scientifically or religiously, he could have most likely ended up the same way.
When my wife eventually got to meet my boss and his family after the operation, she was glad to confirm that even the age of the three children were estimated correctly!
I suggest if you're really keen to investigate this further, attend a real spoon bending party. If you can't just google up "spoon bending party" n read the first few entries.
You could attend one, but with all the resistance in your head, you'd probably end up with unsuccessful attempts and end up looking like a real retard in front of everyone.
That is why people like you resist phenomena like these. It makes you look like a retard in public. People fear what they cannot comprehend/explain.
I researched spoon bending parties online. The first page brought up Uri Geller, someone who has been proven to be a fake. I suppose you think James Hydrick has powers too? I feel the complete opposite of a retard now, knowing that Uri Geller has something to do with your beliefs. Isn't it funny, when put to the test, none of this psychics can do what they say they can do? Isn't ironic that when their ability is in a controlled situation, none of them can do it?
I see...u're another James Randi fan...the bunch who are missing out on the better half of this world. Like I said, it's not yr fault u think the way u do. It comes with experience, and if you have not experienced anything it in real life, you're bound to think it's a fucking fantasy world. If hard evidence is all you're after, then you'll have to accept that there are certain things in this world/universse that cannot be explained at this time, and probably remain unexplained in your lifetime.
If you can't believe Uri Geller (i used to many decades ago, now i'm just not that sure - he could still be the real deal - i don't dismiss that), then at least the other parties done at the University is at least valid? Granted it may not be controlled, but like mentioned, it has a better chance of working in a noisy and fun-filled environment. I don't have the explanation for that also, but i know (and so do many people at that party) that it works. I don't need hard evidence to believe why.
100 years ago, if i were to tell u crystals could be used to store information n focus energy to beams of light that could burn/cut, as the atlanteans did thousands of years ago, u would probably call them n me a retard as u do now.
It isn't so hard to believe now that thumbdrives are made of silicon dioxide chips of quartz crystals and that the first laser in 1960 was from a ruby rod crystal.
Man is arrogant to think that they know it all, and it's arrogance that will lead to their downfall.
You're not wrong to laugh in disbelief. The slow learners usually do. It is not really yr fault. If every scientist ever lived had your kind of skeptism, nothing important would ever have been invented.
After all, u do believe in the talking serpent in the Garden of Eden do u? That's call blind belief to me. To u mayb it's faith. You have faith in something from a storybook, but not something right in front of u. It's hard being a christian n a skeptic at the same time. That's why I'm neither.
Devonbuy, I'm only skeptical because I choose to believe that hard evidence is necessary for something to be true. I'm not religious. And by the way, it was adrenaline that made that mom able to lift the car. There are actually scientific studies to prove that, and it's not like she fucking threw the car in the air. She lifted it just high enough for the kid to get it, which is still extremely impressive.
I realize it's cool and all to think that maybe we can move stuff with our minds, maybe we can talk to the dead, and maybe ghosts want to fucking roam around and talk to us. But couldn't that all just be human arrogance? Isn't it much more reasonable to conclude it's a magic trick, it's cold reading, and it's just our imagination? Doesn't scientific evidence seem more reasonable than bullshit, paranormal pseudoscience?
I agree that scientific evidence IS more reasonable than paranormal pseudoscience, but like we agreed, science doesn't have the answer to everything. And for things that science cannot answer, we can choose to accept them in good faith through empirical observations. Man have lost many faculties over the years evolving into what we are today. Talking to the dead is a true talent few have, like George Anderson. Google him up.
I have real life proof of medium work, but u're too arrogant to learn.
The prongs of a fork were made to bend in different directions (exactly as described by EDDN20), and was done in front of our eyes without any physical contact except by holding the fork handle. The handle was also made to twist along its length while in the gentle grasp of our palms, not the operator. Not only did we banged the forks on the floor to test, we were given the same fork for inspection before AND after the bend. The bends happen from a distance, not by physical force.
Wrong!!! There is not a person anywhere that can really bend or move anything with there mind. Nor is there anyone that can really read minds. Those are the facts. This is a trick done by a magician pure and simple.
I saw this done in my living room with MY own silverware...no joke, nothing touching the tines of the fork and they bent different angles with no touching other than far down on the handle...it was amazing Joe Riggs magic.
Hi everyone. I posted this video several years ago. I just found it elsewhere on the web. I know nothing of the validity of the act. I wish I knew more about it.
The reason the fork is so thin is because it has to be in order for the bending to occur through heat transfer alone.
Much the same way a coil in a thermostat works, this "fork" is composed of two different metals. Having different properties, these metals expand more or less due to change in temperature. When fused together, one metal expanding faster than the other produces a bending effect.
Trick yes trick fork no. People have tried to make forks in the way you describe to make it look like there bending the fork or spoon with their mind but it never works out well at all.
It is a trick there is not a person in the world that can bend anything with there mind it is always a trick. That is a fact.
Question .Are you willing to do this in front of real people as they watch you mind bend this fork.Or ar you useing photo shop tricks to gain this alluision.I challange you to see if you are for real.Show me
Suddenly everyone becomes an expert in the realm of neuroscience when they see a telekinesis video hahah XD. Everyone uses that 10% of your brain thing too. First off, its around 7%, second off, you're always using every part of your brain, that 7% is the collection of what is considered your concious awarness, that doens't mean processing only occurs in this region, you're brain processes thoughts all throughout the rest of your brain.
A very old spoon bending trick. It's a prop "fork". Its made of two different metals that contract/expand at different temperatures. When cold(he prob had it in the refrigerator or something) the two metals are the same length and the fork is straight. When heated, one metal expands more than the other causing it to bend(this is also how thermostats work so it's not a new idea).
TK isn't real!!! Get over it. Even for magic trick it's kinda lame.
well my friend i will agree that this is probably phony- but after my own experiences with tk im forced to disagree with your final statment of tk not being real-because you my have failed to employ it or havent made the attempt is a different story...
there are no scientists that believe in the 5%, 6%, 10% brain use myth. There is no evidence for it. on the contrary scientists have not found any dormant parts of the brain which would mean this 6% crap is nonsense. if you believe in evolution you might have already figured this out. what point would there be to grow/evolve a larger brain (expensive to maintain for the body) if we didn't use all of it.
It is not a myth, just a misunderstanding. Because our brain is separated in many different parts handling different tasks, and we are not doing all these tasks at the same time, we only use about 10 % of the brain at any given time. However, during a longer period, all parts of the brain will be in use.
No they don't. Besides, there's nothing scientific about "belief." That's why it's based on faith. A scientist can believe whatever he wants, just like anyone, but unless he did a study on something, his opinion has no more value than anyone else's.
lol. it's a rubber fork. roflmao. he bend it first. it was really hot in there and it melted. it was aluminum. that is SO fake. who the fuck cares. it still looks cool. :P
roflmao. YOU are a retard. I...ME...I was being SARCASTIC. read it again douche bag. or just forget about this message and go talk shit to more people...OVER THE INTERNET. YOU'RE cool.
you DO realize, of course, that psychokenesis is completely impossible? This is simply an illusion. You seem to think that everyone is stupid to beleive this. Take a few classes in physics or engineering and see what you learn.
Here's the thing I think we all must take into account. Great minds, Einstein for example, believed that thinking inside the 'box' of possibilities and/or reason, is not where we need to look. But outside that 'box'. Impossibilities continue to become possibilities. Perhaps it is a hoax, a trick. But what if it's not; we need to realize that we are surrounded by energy, heat, force, etc.. I personally like to Keep an open mind, and never say never.
hahaha. soo easy. look at the fork. does it look normal?!!! it's made out of 2 pieces of metal layered. when heeted up it's straight but when they cool down, one shrinks mor that the other and couses a bend. my chemistry teacher did that trick for us. this guy needs to get a life. lol
Doesn't seem like a magnet to me. Really, it seems more like he has a heating device under the table (he's probably controlling it with his other hand) - and the "fork" looks like a really thin piece of metal made out of something that probably has a very low melting point.
When it's heated, the metal expands causing it to bulge upward in the middle.
I am baffled; i can see how the last part is done (you can see him exering pressure with is fingers) but can't see how it is bent before he touches it. I assimed it was already bent and the camera moved but I can't see any sign of that. Well done. That's better than geller by a mile!
notice the bending gets faster after he touches..which is because it also starts to cool by his hand touching(another method of heat transfer is occuring-heat trasfer by conduction to finger...before he was touching, there were less factors->convection by air, and and conduction of heat to cooler parts of the fork)
i think it consists of two layers of different metal, the up and the down facing parts.and it should be heated before the video was started, so it should be cooling as the video goes..since thermal elongation coefficients are different for 1 side to another, it bends from the heated(cooling) point.for a short video, the fork seems to be specialy designed thin so that it bends faster as it would be cooling slower by means of temperature per time if it was thick or masser..
yup definitely a trusty magicians fork. look at the end of the clip and you will see how the fork is very, very thin, like sheet metal or tin foil, that gives it away the most.
How the hell???

@DbaBro1 moving ur hands around makes heat. he could of made that thing bend with a hair dryer or a match.

4nerub 1 year ago

@theoriginalJASONXYZ yeah im aware of that, but im just letting you know ;) and yeah i can see why its so hard to believe...its something you have to see for yourself but there are legit psychokinetics :P im not telling you to take my word for it...but look it up on sites that aren't filled with 8 to 13 year old wanabes ;)

get a flexible object (like those flexible plastic rulers) except in the shape and colour of a fork or spoon.
Bend it till it into a U shape. Stick it on the table and do some fancy hand stuff. Then play the film backwards

That is James Twyman, he is the real deal.
Seriously. He has a free spoon-bending course .
He lives in Ashland and is super great:)
natureday 1 year ago
here's a natural way of explaining this, instead of believing in supernatural powers: that fork is a fake,I mean it looks and glows like it's made of metal but is something softer like plastic. There are thin cables attatched to the both ends of the fork and those cables go through the table through tiny holes,so that you can straighten a bent fork when those cables are pulled under the table. That's what goes on in this video and when you play it backwards it looks like you're bending the fork.

this film is runing teh backword. LOL cheap film trick
SunriseNYC999 2 years ago

A mere 50-year existence is nothing by comparison.
devonbuy 2 years ago
Devonbuy, how are you any better blindly believing it is true? You disregard logic and evidence, and rather use you're childish wish for magic to be real to guide your beliefs. You're a retard.
MINIH3NN 2 years ago
And you're childish by resorting to name-calling. Talk like a proper educated person, and bring forth your own evidence to support otherwise. Not everything can be explained by logic and scientific evidence...you cannot explain love with logic. Maybe you have never been in love, or need logic to love your spouse.
If you've never seen or felt this in person, I suggest you not to comment in order not to look like a fool.
I don't think you're even old enough to understand the ways of the world...
devonbuy 2 years ago
Explain the mother who could lift the car to save her child in danger. Adrenaline? Most likely, but I could point a gun to your head, u probably can't lift it an inch with all your adrenaline. Adrenaline and power of love...maybe.
I suppose premonition, deja vu, psychic energy, poltergeist & placebo/nocebo all don't make sense to u. I'm sure you've experienced at least one of the above, but probably dismissed it out of ignorance n lack of knowledge.
Read more...school doesn't teach everything!
devonbuy 2 years ago
The placebo effect does have scientific evidence to back it up, if that's what you were talking about. Deja vu is not paranormal, it's a normal occurrence. You feel smart, putting out what you think are philosophical questions. You live in a fucking fantasy world and then you mock the bible? You're in the same position as religious people. You have no evidence, you have no proof, but you won't change you're mind no matter how many times you've been proven wrong.
MINIH3NN 2 years ago
Maybe it does. But my point is do you need to understand/have hard evidence to appreciate placebo for what it does? I don't think u even know the true mechanics of placebo, yet exploit it like real cure. I don't too. But it works for me when i want it to.
I may be in the same position as religious people, but the difference is I accept things (within limits) to be true until proven otherwise, without condemning people like u did by calling them a retard. Therein lies the difference between us.
devonbuy 2 years ago
If we're on the same page on a placebo, if someone gave someone an aspirin, but told them it was Viagra, they might get a boner from it. It's been well documented, but only to a certain extent. You think that I'm the close-minded one, but I'm the one here looking at both sides. I see the evidence for both parties, and I choose which one is better. You could easily change my mind if you showed me clear evidence of your "powers".
MINIH3NN 2 years ago
Yes, something like that.
Placebo? Maybe. I didn't need evidence/explanation to use this "power".
devonbuy 2 years ago
I am also a Quantum Touch practitioner at the most basic level.
My wife suffers from scoliosis and I have applied QT on my wife's spinal column. In a 2-hour treatment, I had corrected my wife's spine much better than all the chiropractor and western medical treatments had in the past since she has suffered it.
Quantum Touch is quite well documented online. There's evidence that it works, but i don't think there's an explanation that the science community will accept. If so, how? Dismiss it?
devonbuy 2 years ago
Deja vu is chance. A lot of people in this day in age have high cholesterol, a high fat-diet, and clogged arteries. You don't necessarily remember the specifics of a dream. When you're wife saw the children, she might have just assumed they were at the correct age. How do you know you corrected your wife's spine? You may have made her think you did, but there's no evidence. Even if it did help, it's again the placebo effect.
MINIH3NN 2 years ago
The way u explained it, it is obvious u have a very poor understanding of deja vu. My boss who smokes more than he eats unhealthily is more likely to die from lung cancer than a heart attack. Most people don't remember the specifics of a dream, maybe u don't...but some people do. Those who are interested to investigate further often write down the details of their dreams the moment they wake.
I suppose dreams don't make much sense to u...likely for someone devoid of the finer meanings of life.
devonbuy 2 years ago
That is simple. Just ask the patient! No evidence needed. Sometimes I think u complicate things more than they need to b, n in the process lose sight abt how simple they can b.
My wife's back is already more straight and can be verified visually considering how slanted it was before. Lower back now less pain. Another simple test, sitting on any chair, she now has both shoulders (previously one) touching the chair. Only retards (like me) would need a ruler to confirm something as simple as this.
devonbuy 2 years ago
Sometimes I dream something and it eventually happens. The only, true explanation is that shit happens and sometimes you guess right. I can sometimes finish people's sentences, other people can finish mine. How is that a special ability or even paranormal if everyone can do it? It's just a guess and sometimes you guess well. Nothing more, nothing less. Also, you may have spoken of your boss' children to your wife. Although she may have forgotten, her subconscious might not have.
MINIH3NN 2 years ago
I guessed u were going to mention the things u did. That's the usual response from people who doesn't truly understand deja vu. It's NOT the completing of people's sentences. That's intuition or just plain intelligence. This is SEEING the exact same setting as u did, everything in its EXACT place. You could classify this as clairvoyance, but i believe this word (as are many else) is not in your vocabulary. If it is, obviously there's little that u know about it, but yet want to (try to) comment.
devonbuy 2 years ago
The scientific community accepts it as the placebo effect, sorry they don't want to agree that you have magic powers, but science isn't supposed to be fair, it's supposed to be logical. Something is studied, evidence is gathered, conclusions are made, and conclusions are peer-edited.
MINIH3NN 2 years ago
You don't have to convince me about science. I am a science graduate, I started studying mid school science at the age of 8, and did college physics at the age of 13. My job and career today depends on my knowledge of science to keep people alive. I still rely on evidence, facts and figures, but that doesn't stop me from accepting new ideas that SOUND logical, not necessarily PROVEN logical. Science can only go so far, before it stops short of any explanation. You should know that by now.
devonbuy 2 years ago
The way I see deja vu is that you see something happening, and then it happens. You think of something before it happens. It's a normal occurrence to imagine something before it happens. You can dream something, and than you believe it happens. The point is that you can't trust yourself. You can think it was actually what you dreamed, but you can't be positive. Accepting ideas that SOUND logical is illogical. You could have saved some characters by saying you accept new, illogical ideas.
MINIH3NN 2 years ago
Come on...u yourself accept ideas that sound logical on a daily basis! You drink 8 glasses of water a day for optimum health, u stay away from egg yolk to reduce cholesterol...eventhough these have been proven otherwise, or remain to be investigated.
My earliest post still applies...the bigotry can b really annoying - a Mr Know-It-All who doesn't yet realise that man's understanding of the world is never absolute but only partial truths. If u understood this, u wouldn't b talking the way u are.
devonbuy 2 years ago
Devonbuy, all I'm stating is that all these supposedly paranormal powers can be recreated using simple tricks. Psychic abilities can be recreated using cold reading. If I'm really asked to make the decision where I believe the psychic, or the person who says he's not psychic and can do exactly what the psychic can do, who am I going to believe? If scientists show why telling someone you fixed something can fix it, why would I believe in quantum touch?
MINIH3NN 2 years ago
There's even proof that prayers can help heal a person. Do I accept this as true? Somewhat. But that doesn't mean that it's God doing the work. It's just the human mind. Here's an example of a type of placebo effect. You stub your finger, you look through binoculars in reverse at your finger, which makes it look smaller. This makes your brain think there is less pain to be felt. Does that mean all the pain went away? No, it just means that you think it's not as painful.
MINIH3NN 2 years ago
Science doesn't have the answer to everything. But it has come up with answers for these tricks. Psychics have been debunked, mental spoon benders have been debunked, and psychic surgeons have been debunked. Could there be real psychics out there? Maybe. But if they can do what they say they can, why don't they just take Randi's challenge and the million dollars?
MINIH3NN 2 years ago
Sorry, been busy. Let me try to address this question.
Take my case. I can heal family members, friends and myself very effectively with reiki. If I was told to try and prove this under lights and camera, I don't think I could pull it. Maybe I don't work well under pressure. Put in a situation like that, despite already having proven the gift I have acquired, I would have been debunked. Does that mean i can't heal people and myself? No.
To the better psychics out there, why not? Let me answer.
devonbuy 2 years ago
Take another example. As a violinist and pianist, I play reasonably well at home entertaining guests and family members. I sound like a seasoned professional and why not? I have been an active musician for the last 25 years of my life. I have played in many high profile concerts as well. But put me centre-stage under a spotlight with a solo piece and a discerning audience and all of a sudden, I'm no better than a novice. Does that mean I play the violin terribly? No. I'd like to think that! ;-)
devonbuy 2 years ago
It is this reason that many great musicians shy away from the solo scene and take orchestral desk jobs instead. Even seasoned soloists have admitted trembling when playing on stage, and many are nervous during recording sessions. some even resort to superstitious acts before giving a concert, like Vanessa-Mae.
Nigel Kennedy, whom I've had the pleasure of knowing personally, was already a remarkable violinist before he became famous. Before he became a multi-millionaire as a solo artiste...
devonbuy 2 years ago
...he had clinched a perfect 100% score for his diploma, the first ever, with his rendition of the Brahms Concerto.
What do you think?
devonbuy 2 years ago
Take another example closer to home, something you could relate to perhaps. This is something that applies to me as well. As a speaker, I do extremely well when addressing a conference room of about 15 to 20 people. I also love talking when i'm with a group of friends. Now put me in a big seminar room in front of 200 people to talk about something i'm really good at, and all of a sudden my tongue gets tied. I would have looked like, as you've put it, a retard on stage, making a fool of myself...
devonbuy 2 years ago
...Honestly, I wouldn't b interested if someone offered me $100,000 to participate in a speech-giving contest on TV.
I appreciate it! ;-)
devonbuy 2 years ago
You make a very good point, and I completely agree with you on everything you said. And yes, it's very obvious that there is a definite possibility of pressure when being tested. But, your healing powers can be explained scientifically. Technically, you do have the power to heal people, but it's nothing paranormal. It's placebo. And psychic abilities can be recreated using cold reading. No offense, but I just don't have the mentality to put faith into something like that.
MINIH3NN 2 years ago
Furthermore...psychics are neither great orators or excellent showmen, and would definitely crack under pressure.
Yes, there is strong scientific backing for Quantum Touch, n it's based on entrainment of one body to another, where the less healthy adapts to the healthier person. This is similiarly observed in heartbeats n menstrual period synching in matching rhythms when in close vicinity after some time.
Unfortunately, it's not as easy to explain reiki (energy channelling) scientifically.
devonbuy 2 years ago
Despite the lack of scientific backing, I personally find reiki to be more effective, at least in the results that i get. No evidence to show for it, so I don't blame you for being unable to place faith here. It may not be entirely accurate to say it's placebo as well, as it is only an assumption it is placebo, hence maybe only 60-70% likely it's placebo. There's still that remaining 30% that we may not yet understand, and for all we know, that could be the real absolute truth that we'd ignored.
devonbuy 2 years ago
Cold readings used by conmen, mentalists n fake psychics have taken away the credibility of the real McCoys. I think real psychics are less commercialised who have no reason to prove themselves beyond necessity.
I highly recommend tat u read the book "We Don't Die: George Anderson's Conversations with the Other Side" available at Amazon. I'd like to also suggest u read some of the readers' comments there which r applicable to wat we've discussed.
Edgar Cayce's book "Reincarnation" is another!
devonbuy 2 years ago
George Anderson had always ensured there's no input of information before he did a reading, no last names, to avoid being accused of cold reading. He's a true psychic who's done it successfully on TV with a live audience, despite initial objection. Why he doesn't take Randi's challenge...I guess it's not important anymore.
Nostradamus's predictions have also been incredibly remarkable, leaving aside his quatrains if u find them too ambiguous. Closer in time, Edgar Cayce is another true psychic.
devonbuy 2 years ago
When you really look into Nostradamus, he's not very impressive, at least to me. He's made thousands of predictions, and a few of them have come true. And the ones that came true were extremely vague. I'll look into George Anderson.
MINIH3NN 2 years ago
By the way, cold reading doesn't require any information. That's hot reading. I watched a video on youtube about Anderson, and to me it still seems like cold reading. He's saying things very similar to that of Sylvia Browne and John Edward. I'll continue to look in to it, though.
MINIH3NN 2 years ago

MINIH3NN 2 years ago
Given that the circumstances cannot be explained scientifically, all I could offer you were personal experiences, not proof. I thought we had established that already. I guess you don't put two and two very well.
Your resorting to more name-calling only shows that u have run out of points to argue with. I have debated with more eloquent people standing on your side when it comes to these topics. You're beginning to sound like you're intimidated by me. Understandable...they all are, eventually.
devonbuy 2 years ago
I warned you about commenting on things you know little about. You are already beginning to sound like a fool trying to make the best of his last few points. It really doesn't matter whether you call me a retard, idiot or moron...your choice of words only expose your childish mentality n the way you were brought up. Judging by the way you've brought your points so far, you're far from being qualified to even debate on any topic. I feel sorry for your parents for having a child like you. Grow up!

He was warded a week later...
devonbuy 2 years ago
My boss is a devout Muslim who absolutely dismisses these things...
devonbuy 2 years ago
...as only Allah can tell what the future holds, no mere mortal can.

People fear what they cannot comprehend/explain.
devonbuy 2 years ago
I researched spoon bending parties online. The first page brought up Uri Geller, someone who has been proven to be a fake. I suppose you think James Hydrick has powers too? I feel the complete opposite of a retard now, knowing that Uri Geller has something to do with your beliefs. Isn't it funny, when put to the test, none of this psychics can do what they say they can do? Isn't ironic that when their ability is in a controlled situation, none of them can do it?
MINIH3NN 2 years ago
I see...u're another James Randi fan...the bunch who are missing out on the better half of this world. Like I said, it's not yr fault u think the way u do. It comes with experience, and if you have not experienced anything it in real life, you're bound to think it's a fucking fantasy world. If hard evidence is all you're after, then you'll have to accept that there are certain things in this world/universse that cannot be explained at this time, and probably remain unexplained in your lifetime.
devonbuy 2 years ago
If you can't believe Uri Geller (i used to many decades ago, now i'm just not that sure - he could still be the real deal - i don't dismiss that), then at least the other parties done at the University is at least valid? Granted it may not be controlled, but like mentioned, it has a better chance of working in a noisy and fun-filled environment. I don't have the explanation for that also, but i know (and so do many people at that party) that it works. I don't need hard evidence to believe why.
devonbuy 2 years ago
100 years ago, if i were to tell u crystals could be used to store information n focus energy to beams of light that could burn/cut, as the atlanteans did thousands of years ago, u would probably call them n me a retard as u do now.
It isn't so hard to believe now that thumbdrives are made of silicon dioxide chips of quartz crystals and that the first laser in 1960 was from a ruby rod crystal.
Man is arrogant to think that they know it all, and it's arrogance that will lead to their downfall.
devonbuy 2 years ago
You're not wrong to laugh in disbelief. The slow learners usually do. It is not really yr fault. If every scientist ever lived had your kind of skeptism, nothing important would ever have been invented.
After all, u do believe in the talking serpent in the Garden of Eden do u? That's call blind belief to me. To u mayb it's faith. You have faith in something from a storybook, but not something right in front of u. It's hard being a christian n a skeptic at the same time. That's why I'm neither.
devonbuy 2 years ago
Devonbuy, I'm only skeptical because I choose to believe that hard evidence is necessary for something to be true. I'm not religious. And by the way, it was adrenaline that made that mom able to lift the car. There are actually scientific studies to prove that, and it's not like she fucking threw the car in the air. She lifted it just high enough for the kid to get it, which is still extremely impressive.
MINIH3NN 2 years ago
I realize it's cool and all to think that maybe we can move stuff with our minds, maybe we can talk to the dead, and maybe ghosts want to fucking roam around and talk to us. But couldn't that all just be human arrogance? Isn't it much more reasonable to conclude it's a magic trick, it's cold reading, and it's just our imagination? Doesn't scientific evidence seem more reasonable than bullshit, paranormal pseudoscience?
MINIH3NN 2 years ago

I wish I knew more about it.
starfire0007 2 years ago
Hmm, could that be a trick fork? I think so!
The reason the fork is so thin is because it has to be in order for the bending to occur through heat transfer alone.
Much the same way a coil in a thermostat works, this "fork" is composed of two different metals. Having different properties, these metals expand more or less due to change in temperature. When fused together, one metal expanding faster than the other produces a bending effect.
joker102877 2 years ago
Trick yes trick fork no. People have tried to make forks in the way you describe to make it look like there bending the fork or spoon with their mind but it never works out well at all.
It is a trick there is not a person in the world that can bend anything with there mind it is always a trick. That is a fact.

It was kinda cool until you told how to do it. But now I know how it is done;)
olvew 2 years ago
well my friend i will agree that this is probably phony- but after my own experiences with tk im forced to disagree with your final statment of tk not being real-because you my have failed to employ it or havent made the attempt is a different story...

there are no scientists that believe in the 5%, 6%, 10% brain use myth.
MrDooknet 2 years ago
That's because scientists are sheep,
and science is a lie. FACT.

Stop using your computer then.

mate, if science wasn't real you'd probably still be lying in bed coughing up the plague
jackylegs45 2 years ago
It is not a myth, just a misunderstanding. Because our brain is separated in many different parts handling different tasks, and we are not doing all these tasks at the same time, we only use about 10 % of the brain at any given time. However, during a longer period, all parts of the brain will be in use.

No they don't. Besides, there's nothing scientific about "belief." That's why it's based on faith. A scientist can believe whatever he wants, just like anyone, but unless he did a study on something, his opinion has no more value than anyone else's.

Its so FUNNY seeing how people can create like 10000 excuses to say psychokinesis is fake... really.

you DO realize, of course, that psychokenesis is completely impossible? This is simply an illusion. You seem to think that everyone is stupid to beleive this. Take a few classes in physics or engineering and see what you learn.
vanished306 2 years ago
Here's the thing I think we all must take into account. Great minds, Einstein for example, believed that thinking inside the 'box' of possibilities and/or reason, is not where we need to look. But outside that 'box'. Impossibilities continue to become possibilities. Perhaps it is a hoax, a trick. But what if it's not; we need to realize that we are surrounded by energy, heat, force, etc.. I personally like to Keep an open mind, and never say never.

funny how the fork is already bending before you start doing anything :)

eeh ... psychokinesis
joaklm2 2 years ago
hahaha. soo easy. look at the fork. does it look normal?!!! it's made out of 2 pieces of metal layered. when heeted up it's straight but when they cool down, one shrinks mor that the other and couses a bend. my chemistry teacher did that trick for us. this guy needs to get a life. lol

Doesn't seem like a magnet to me. Really, it seems more like he has a heating device under the table (he's probably controlling it with his other hand) - and the "fork" looks like a really thin piece of metal made out of something that probably has a very low melting point.
When it's heated, the metal expands causing it to bulge upward in the middle.
antybu86 2 years ago
notice one hand is below the table...

That's not a spoon! That's a fork!

WTF are you doing with your other hand, wanking or just having a magnet?
altrnt 3 years ago
I am baffled; i can see how the last part is done (you can see him exering pressure with is fingers) but can't see how it is bent before he touches it. I assimed it was already bent and the camera moved but I can't see any sign of that. Well done. That's better than geller by a mile!

that's made out of foil or something
xoxpriscilla 3 years ago
notice the bending gets faster after he touches..which is because it also starts to cool by his hand touching(another method of heat transfer is occuring-heat trasfer by conduction to finger...before he was touching, there were less factors->convection by air, and and conduction of heat to cooler parts of the fork)
gyrolabs 3 years ago 2
big mouth. LOL!!! and yah proved nuthin just like the video hehehe
xxxxxDIABLOxxx 3 years ago
i think it consists of two layers of different metal, the up and the down facing parts.and it should be heated before the video was started, so it should be cooling as the video goes..since thermal elongation coefficients are different for 1 side to another, it bends from the heated(cooling) point.for a short video, the fork seems to be specialy designed thin so that it bends faster as it would be cooling slower by means of temperature per time if it was thick or masser..
gyrolabs 3 years ago 5
Very nice trick!
marchepied 3 years ago
It's not a real fork... look how thin it is... I could bend that by breathing on it

yup definitely a trusty magicians fork. look at the end of the clip and you will see how the fork is very, very thin, like sheet metal or tin foil, that gives it away the most.
