  • This is the tech that will be incorporated in the first real light sabers!

  • OK. i'm subbing now :)

  • @hardstyle905 that's great, thanks

  • where the hell do you get a transparent neon tube? (seriously, I don't know this) :D

  • @SotaSystems these are germicidal uv tubes, there are quite a few available on ebay.

  • @radumotisan Thanks! :D

  • A REAL LIGHTSABER

  • @PunchLine44 yes, and it emits ionizing UV light too!

  • @liketechnologie11 yes. 10KV. it was a simple HV supply made of a 555 driver and a rectified flyback, running at 12V input.

  • @liketechnologie11 yes, that is correct

  • Can you tell me if the plasma is making the glass hot??? Can you touch the glass with out it burning you? Basically how much Heat dose that plasma tube create?

    Thanks for the help! ~Russ

  • @rwg42985 the plasma inside was not that hot, because the current used to create it was relatively small

  • that bar looks like a cal. block

  • made in china XD

  • @DigiDavidex yes, and bought from a US seller on Ebay, and sent to my place in Europe . International UV tubes :)

  • @radumotisan And once it breaks, you can "recycle" it. Then, it will get sent back to China and dumped in a huge pile where slaves can extract all the precious metals from it with toxic chemicals and the circle of life goes full circle. Simba would be proud.

  • @burchified take care not to break them , then :)

  • @DigiDavidex junk

  • makes sense

  • @juniortore1 the light coming out of the tube is mostly germicidal UVC, not something you would stare at it with unprotected eyes.

  • @radumotisan mmmm, Worse than a violet laser xD

  • @juniortore1 for germs yes, :-)

  • Wait, UVC light tubes give off dangerous radiation and would cause damage to the skin cells on your hand right ?

  • @WestbourneStudios that is correct. I did this test only once, so I could film the tube, and I've under-powered it to make sure the UVC level is low.

Ozone could be felt in the air after the tube was lit.

  • @radumotisan Ah ok, cool (:

  • @WestbourneStudios Don't you have anything else to say? Do you go to car videos all the time and warn people about all kinds of accidents that may occur, too? faggot

  • How did you get the plasma into the tube?

  • @BlackShatOnU it's an UV germicidal tube, I've applied the current from a HV Power supply.

  • light saber

  • never thought of that :)
