Foley is the most hardcore man in the history of wrestling. He took the two craziest bumps in the history of wrestling within five minuites of each other.
@edge9090 I watched it on netflix as it seems most of the WWE dvds go to instant stream within 3-4 weeks. Usually the actual dvds have matches on 2 extra discs but I;m not sure about the buying it. It was cool to remember alot of that stuff but it was basically a clip show with no full matches. There are 50 moments but I'm not sure if there are matches on the actual discs.
thanks for answering my question, sounds like a great disc set. It's actually similar to the greatest superstars of the 21st century dvd that i own at home, there are 20 profiles (like clips) that last 5-10 minutes each documenting each of their careers in the 2000's decade. One the two extra discs there were extra matches where disc 2 had 5 matches and disc 3 had 8 matches
Actually maybe it was his left shoulder - he holds it for rest of the match, you can see blood coming from the area. But he still climbs the cage again with that busted shoulder - and then ends up losing 2 teeth, dislocated jaw, hole in cheek etc. Crazy match.
@attentionaddicts dont forget a concussion after smacking his head off the chair on the chokeslam and the thumb tacks stuck in his arm he couldnt feel because of the concussion taker told him backstage they were still stuck in his arm
Foley dislocated his right shoulder in this fall - in the next 8mins the medics stretchered him off, popped it back into place and then he continued the match! Imagine that happening in any "real" sport - how can anyone say wrestling is "fake"?
Mick Foley deserves way more respect he provided the WWF with some of it's greatest moments he's taken so many falls so many hits he was truly an entertainer
@takiyasamsama yup and even if it was cardboard it would still hurt like freaking hell falling off and onto that. it wouldn't hold up well. still smushed the floor lmao.
@gospelkeys07 In other words, you have no idea what you're talking about and you're trying to prove that wrestling doesn't hurt although you have never and probably won't ever take bumps in a wrestling ring. If you're going to play Captain Obvious, you can CLEARLY see how thin that black mat is that Foley landed on. Anyone who has a brain would know that getting slammed on it would still hurt. Now falling off of a structure like this? Just be glad that only Foley can take pain more than others.
i remember watching this live at a friends with a bunch of teens, i looked away from the tv for less than 3 seconds, and when i look back foley isnt on the cage anymore. my jaw hit the ground and i just thought HOW THE HELL DID HE GET DOWN SO FAST? considering michaels fell off the side
This is why WWE sucks now they set the standard way 2 high between 1997-2002 with the crazy hell in a cells, tlc matches etc. There is nothing higher than this than throwing some guy of a building I mean common no wrestler is gonna do any of this shit no more
@gospelkeys07 it's still a fucking table, man. don't try and deny the fact that it HURTS. you clearly have never taken a bump in your life, especially on a wrestling canvas.
oh boy, Cena and Miz matches of today so beat ones like this from back in the day. No I'm just kidding. Todays wrestling sucks balls compared to these jaw dropping matches from the 90s to early 2000s
Actually Jr broke Kaybface while commentating he actually thought Mick Foley got killed and when he went through the cell roof that wasnt supposed to happen
Undertaker must have been nervous as fuck doing this. One slight mistake from either of them here would have fucked that up horribly. they must have really trusted each other to be willing to do this with no visible hesitation
Everyone credits Mick Foley for taking the fall (and rightfully so) but everyone forgets that the Undertaker had real balls for throwing him off. I mean, he could have killed him or left him a paraplegic the rest of his life. And yet the Undertaker doesn't seem to hesitate at all.
i no wrestling is fake, but most of the falls mick foley take looks pretty damn real .. i guess thats why he was my favorite back in the day. "have a nice day" lol.
This just makes me laugh. It's awful but i can't help but laugh at how ridiculous it is, knowing the story behind this match and how Foley told Taker to throw him off, Taker thinking he was crazy but did it anyway. Everybody just sold it so well, despite the very real injuries Foley received as a result. Great match, greater moment in my storied wrestling memory banks.
Actually that was real, he wasn't supposed to do alot of things in that match, falling off and falling through are some, when JR says stop the damn match, that's some legit concern. You can even see the Undertaker is alittle caught off guard by it.
@gospelkeys07 That was not kayfabe (in character) but rather a legitimate concern for Foley's well-being, same as when he cried "will somebody stop the damn match" later on.
@cra0422 Yeah, Ross was a Foley mark no doubt and I think Foley truly felt the same way abut Jim Ross. Only JR could make marking out for his best friends like Austin, Foley, HBK (yes I think he was and is an HBK mark too) look cool. When Michael Cole marks out for the Miz he sounds exactly like Daniel Bryan calls him - a nerd.
Well King of the Ring 2010 is upon us, though I doubt we will get to see anything like this onthe 3-hour RAW in a couiple of weeks. Though its nice to see the installment being brought back!
Check out my thoughts on WWE bringing back the WWE King of the Ring-tournament plus a Survivor Series preview, in my videos in my channel.
After watching this over a 100 times i just realised that the tv's were still on the table if he hit his head or landed on those it woulda sucked so worse. Foley is God
I heard he injured himself doing this particular stunt (cant recal what he injured if someone could reply) but oddly enough....He actually looked like he pulled the move off pretty smooth...pretty good and accurate...but i remember hearing in an old interview or an internet radio show or something about he broke his collarbone, or nose, or something....cant remember for the life of me
@dafpunkkk Getting thrown off the top of the cell was Foley's idea. He was afraid the match would stink because fans were apathetic to his Mankind character (at the time) and Undertaker had a broken foot. 'Taker actually argued against it right up until the match itself.
If he had landed a foot further he would have been impailed on the steel barrior and literally DIED on live TV and in front of those thousands of people.
in later interviews of Mick Foley on this match. mick, terry funk, and vince were at wwf HQ in CT watching the 1st HIAC match with Undertaker and Shawn Michaels and tried to come up with ideas on how to top it. Then Terry look at Mick and said "Catus, I really think u should start the match on top of the cell". laugher insues b/c Terry was serious and Mick said yeah I can do that. there were two falls in this match, the 1st fall the iconic fall where Mick was thrown off the cell on to the S
cool i want undertaker to do that 2 me haha i challenge him right now ( i know he wont be watching this video or read the comments ) so im pretty much safe haha
for a second, the undertaker looks like: omg, is it real? did the fall end the way it was not supposed to? i hope i didn't really hurt him. what if i ended his acting carreer? if that's the case i will have to fight (act) another 857 matches to afford the case. NOOO!! :D
THE best moment in wrestling history!! i remember watching this genuinely shocked but thinking well its all scripted anyway hes probably fine. then i seen "beyond the mat" and mick foley was NOT fine after this match believe me!!!
@Alpstarr50 Yeah, if he landed an inch off, either he would've broken something, or he would've broken something on the Spanish Announcers who probably were scared shitless the entire night knowing what was going to happen...at least, I HOPE someone told them this was going to happen.
Foley is the most hardcore man in the history of wrestling. He took the two craziest bumps in the history of wrestling within five minuites of each other.

Cole: I don't think that's the case, this match just started.

for a second, the undertaker looks like: omg, is it real? did the fall end the way it was not supposed to? i hope i didn't really hurt him. what if i ended his acting carreer? if that's the case i will have to fight (act) another 857 matches to afford the case. NOOO!! :D

@Alpstarr50 Yeah, if he landed an inch off, either he would've broken something, or he would've broken something on the Spanish Announcers who probably were scared shitless the entire night knowing what was going to happen...at least, I HOPE someone told them this was going to happen.
