As an American who has grown to love the Persian people and their beautiful culture I'm so saddened to see the state of affairs of Iran today. Iranians were friends and allies not so long ago. We had much to share and learn from each other. I hope people in America don't forget that the Iranian people desperately want a change to come about. I'm Iranian-American second generation, grew up in the US and really completely Americanized. But Persian history, and also the Pahlavi Dynasty of Iran really bring about pride in my heritage. @DaysOfPride I didn't live in Iran but I did know some visiting scientists from Iran in the 70s, they were awesome! Zarah (sp.) was a scientist and one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. Her sister-in-law was a government official of some sort ... she taught me to play the organ. :)

As an American who has grown to love the Persian people and their beautiful culture I'm so saddened to see the state of affairs of Iran today. Iranians were friends and allies not so long ago. We had much to share and learn from each other. I hope people in America don't forget that the Iranian people desperately want a change to come about. Egypt an ARAB country was the country that gave Shah and his family hospitality and buried the Shah in a full ISLAMIC burial as per his requests. I'm Iranian-American second generation, grew up in the US and really completely Americanized. But Persian history, and also the Pahlavi Dynasty of Iran really bring about pride in my heritage. It's humiliating that now Iran is ruled by a half-chimpanzee dimwit who spews hate, but the history shows that it's a lot better than the current state of affairs. Hopefully it'll go back to those glory days and my grandkids can go back and visit where their great-grandparents immigrated from. Thank you!

Do you know who created Iran's space and aviation industry? It was the Shah. who built these factories that the mollah's are building f-5 knock offs? If you dont know, shah built the northorp industry scale in tehran where they know build the f-5's and overhaul their fighters

Some of the garbage posted by abdallahbindress is comical. Shah killed hundreds of thousends? The amnesty international who claimed shah had a 100,00 oprisnores after visiting iran's prisons later admited to being wrong.
Also by all accounts there were no more then 3,000 political excecutions all together in almost 38 years of rule. Khomenie in one weekend orderd the execution of almost 11,000 thousend teenagers, men and woman and childern because they were against his beliefs.

I think the Shah was and is an amazing man. I only hope that one day the Pahlavi family can somehow be reinstalled in Persia and get rid of this vile Adinajab who does not allow any freedom of speech!! oh and Im a true British girl and also love the Dignity of the beutiful Farah Diba xx

But just for your information, Iran was producing its own cars starting in the 1960's, starting with Peykan. @DaysOfPride I didn't live in Iran but I did know some visiting scientists from Iran in the 70s, they were awesome! Zarah (sp.) was a scientist and one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. Her sister-in-law was a government official of some sort ... she taught me to play the organ. :)
None of them could go home after the revolution, they were killing and jailing educated people.

There were no freedom in Iran during the Shah's regime. Now after revolution in Iran, Ayatollah Khomeini offered the Iranians an election whether it should be a Islamic republic or not. And the majority voted for it. But stay out of Iran and like that dictator. We are proud of Iran today. GOD BLESS ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN!

@Baqarkhi Khomeini offered that election when he blatantly lied to the people. When he gave that election he never told that women are going to be forced to wear hejab. He lied and told the people that gas, electricity, water will be free, he told people that the mullahs will stay out of politics and he will go to Qom and not interfere with the cabinet of Bazargan, these are just afew lies that were told, so get your facts straight. If he had told what he planned, NOONE would have voted for him.

Because, then when the Iranians elected for an Islamic constitution, you should also know, that in Quran, you will find that it's important for women to wear hijab. Now I'm not Iranian, but I will Insaallah travel to Iran, and visit many important sights in your country etc. like Mashhad and also Qom, mostly due to Ziyarat. Why should I trust you. I even have an important video, about who Mr. Khanenei is, if you want?

I am Iranian, and I was there when Khomeini came to power..i was there when he lied to people,i was there when he excuted over 10,000 people in 3 month,.i was there when he lied to the Army and then turned around and excuted all the officers, i was there in the demonstration before he came to power and saw how his agents slaguhter a sheep in a back ally, put their hand in the blood and go in front of cameras and say its the blood of people

Then if you state, that Ayatollah Khomeini, can you then show me the evidence, before I even should begin and trust you? The reason for I like him, is he cut all diplomatic relations to the enemy of our DEEN. The reason for Shah is not respected in the Ummah, is the way he was. He was seen as an "Yazid", only caring for himself and his money. Nothing else.

@Baqarkhi You dont have to trust me. Just go to Iran and talk to people on the street. Specially those old enough that were alive then. Dont blindly follow what your mullahs say. And most Persians are not as relijouse as you Arabs. We dont care what the Ummah thought of the Shah. We care that he brought Iran out of the dark ages and made it a progressive country. We care that he gave freedom to women to choose if they want to wear hejab or not. Religion has no room in politics.

@DaysOfPride I will do Insaallah. I am not even arab. But I saw in the end of 2009, this video; "My nation will never break". Shah was not even a good muslim, he was a coward, who escaped, a True momeen would never do that. Myabe you can say that what Shah did was good for you, but did you ever notice the way he did, was only on the West's interest? It's more important for any Islamic countries, to care more for them, than others.
