Hi Y'all,J'aime bien ce son, je ne peux m'empecher de l'ecouter sans cesse. Pr la petite info, Feelingue Hiroshima est bel et bien decede des suites de Cancer de foie si je m'abuse. RIP man!
I would love to do research on Cameroonians of both Anglo/Franco descent and study groups who have never left Cameroon, grps that have grown mostly in US, grps mostly in Europe and see each groups varying opinions on the dissension present amongst Colonial and Tribal division lines.
Now, I'm sad I didn't do a thesis in college! But it would be interesting to see : what would affect ones's sense of unity more? experiences, education levels, cultural exposures? ok i won't ramble anymore :0)
In my opinion, nothing is wrong with people addressing injustices based on Anglo/Franco identities. Things like differential funding, political proceses, police response all have and do affect both Anglo and Franco. We should be able to address disagreements amongst OUR people without perpetuating this notion that one group doesn't belong or is genetically inclined to be evil/stupid/etc.
We all know better than to bunch a group of people into ONE...it's anger talking, not reason!
The sense of unity as a "nation state" is essential for any country to prosper and protect itself. The people of "Cameroon" were not given a chance to create OR define this sense of unity (Berlin Conf.) Heck, our country name is even reflective of how defined it and other African countries are by "former" Colonial Powers.
My point is this: we can't move forward as a country if we continue to perpetuate this concept of "you" v.s "me" on any level.
Please Rescue MAKOSSA. I hate to see makossa stars are dumping makossa for zaiko.. Iam a Nigerian. I lived before in K-Town. when Makossa is Number I hits... DONT ALLOW MAKOSSA TO DIE.

Fact is if you are still a Cameroonian, not a refugee, your passport is Bilingual, there are many bilingual schools existing in Cameroon- and I know many educated Cameroonian who are Bilinguals ( never mind politics) in both sides Anglo and Franco- If there is something that is missing, enlighten my ignorance- and send me some reports stating the killings of people in Cameroon just because they speak English- Because I do and many of my friends Do and we never got killed! This is a fact!
There is also a fact that the Democracy in Cameroon was wanted by most Cameroonians! Not just the anglophones- And when speaking of anglophone you seem to ignore this element: Not all anglophone thing the same! The SW anglophones never try to align themselves with the NW ones. even politically- Cultural difference and perception push them to think that way!
-English? The world should know that they have pushed us English-speakers to the back bench. We are back benchers and without a voice.Idiots supported by their father---France,but in Canada, they claim to be victims of English domination. What hypocrisy!!!!
Bilingualism starts individually- Officially Cameroon is Bilingual- All official documents are written in both English and French- And most educated Cameroonians are bilingual if not multilingual- The problem with the "Anglo" in Cameroon and elsewhere is their lack of taking advantage of the dominance of the Anglo Saxons economical and cultural power and apply it in Africa to create a better economical environment. Something different from the latin paternalism! Hypocrisy goes Both ways!
You surely lack a clear understanding of the political climate in Cameroon or are simply ignorant.Better still, you may be adamant to change.Who started fighting vigorously for real democracy in Cameroon?--Anglophones!!!! Who is sustaining the oppressive status quo?---the oppressive and repressive regime of Mr. Paul Biya, actively supported by the French, your gods!!!!!They are not my gods,I mean the French, neither are the English. You francophones are so stupid to a startling degree.
"You francophones are so stupid to a startling degree. " and as a smart anglophone ( i mean you the person), what have you done to improve your region? Cane we go to your region and find some smart developments? I am really curious to a point- Well... Colonialism has really made some damages to some Africans! LOL... I will be in Canada pretty soon to see how actively smart you are to even better the life of your community! LOL
Everyone knows it to be French. But did you know that constitutionally it was supposed to be English and French on par?Just so the world knows, there is a massacre of a people who speak English as their official language in a country in Central Africa called Cameroon.
Same ole attitude! Anglo Franco and when the facts come out then we move to the insults- As you see we both communicate in English- As a Cameroonian I chose to be bilingual and I am proud of being such- I could had responded to you in French - but let's state the facts. The oppression in Cameroon is affecting everybody- Anglo or Franco that is the facts- Who is everyone in your opinion? Are you everyone? Get out of your circle and you will see many Cameroonian living there are bilingual.
And I tried to Google your assertion- unfortunately I do not see anything specific regarding what you say- I queried many libraries to confirm it- again nothing is related to a specific massacre of Anglophone- Where do you get your information? I am interested to read about it. Oh another Fact! as a product of Ngoa Nkelle- I can confirm that I took arbitrary classes in English and French! So bring me the difference!
