@JustinReg Right, but surely that's the choice of the viewer? Hugh Grant had more patience with him than I would have.
@WORLD8NSH5KNIGHT1 Didn't I watch a documentary not too long ago, showing the same Hugh Grant knock a cameraman's camera on the deck for filming him in the street? Oh, I can just imagine him as PM, if he can't cope with 1 camera how would he be with 6 or more. afraid not, lol.
If you don't like Fox News you don't have to watch it. Simple as. That's the problem with all you liberals and leftists; if you don't like something you presume to speak on behalf of the nation when calling for its banning. Murdoch's organisations can promote whomever they want; they are private companies. We don't have to heed their advice. The BBC on the other hand is noted for its left wing bias, and yet we are compelled to pay for it regardless of our opinion.
Hard leftists think it is right wing; but according to the hard left if you're slightly to the right of Lenin then you're a bigoted Tory monster. The BBC is left wing; its 'stars' have admitted as much, including Jeremy Paxman, Andrew Marr etc. Mark Thompson admitted that it suffered and still suffers from left wing bias, and the writer of Yes Minister, Sir Antony Jay, remarked upon its far left bias from the 50s onwards, saying it was opposed to anything to the right of Labour.
@Bastiat90 I think I'm correct in saying you will also find those within the Beeb who would say it as a right wing bias. The fact remains everybody accuses the BBC of this or that bias. The fact we all know that Fox like the Mail, Sun, Mirror or Guardian all pander to their readers own prejudices do not negate the need for balanced honest unbiased political reporting the BBC on the whole supplies this.
@mikesheen741 Isn't that the point if he was a right winger then he would stop it, if left wing bias was their. It is very rare to hear from any BBC journalist or reporter and certainly when it comes to current affairs programmes any bias to the left or the right . I just don't think it's their unless the viewer is himself so bias he would takes any action or comment the criticises his political believes as BBC bias.
@mikesheen741 that would be left wing bias that lied in a live broadcast about uk uncut protest in that store as being disruptive and violent.when it was nothing of the sort..
We can't allow television stations to operate under the umbrella of 'news' if they present and promote a particular political agenda, whatever it may be. If a channel with political leanings like that of Fox News emerged in the U.K., don't you agree they should not be banned, but rather forced to promote themselves under the banner of 'debate' or 'talk'?
No; if it is privately owned it is free to promote whatever it wants. One of the biggest myths perpetuated by its opponents is that it tells it viewers what to think; Fox simply comfirms its viewers' biases. That's why it's the biggest news channel in America despite its youth.
Fox News does have debate platforms; Hannity does his show with Colmes, Bill O'Reilly often interviews leftists and is much more balanced than Hannity, Beck etc.
Yes it's privately owned meaning it can promote whatever it wants, but the issue I raised is whether it should be called a 'news' channel given it's obvious partiality. Personally I think the news should be free of political agenda...or else we start getting news stations operating as propaganda vehicles with opinion masquerading as fact. Which is why I said there should probably be a distinction between 'news' and 'debate'.
Have you ever watched it? Fox does have a rolling news stream and a Fox Extra service which focusses on local news. Most of its shows are opinion shows based on current affairs and news, so the Fox News moniker is justified in my view.
@Bastiat90 thats not balanced fool.andrew marr has never said or paxman.marr said the bbc is cuturally biased but not politically. fox news is a joke.it can promote whatever t wants?so if wanted to promote anti gay slogans or pro muslims slogans or communist prpoganda or whatever ideology.school of thought it should be allowed?lol britain has fallen in the world but not as low as america, but we are getting there because f people like you.
''The BBC is not impartial or neutral. It's a publicly funded, urban organisation with an abnormally large number of young people, ethnic minorities and gay people. It has a liberal bias not so much a party-political bias. It is better expressed as a cultural liberal bias" Andrew Marr 2006
''People who know a lot more than I do may be right when they claim that [global warming] is the consequence of our own behaviour. I assume that this is why the BBC's coverage of the issue abandoned the pretence of impartiality long ago'' Jeremy Paxman 2007.
And as far that final slur... my politics have no influence on Western governments because I'd burn most of them to the ground and piss on the ashes. Britain is a fallen angel because of the Left's wanton destruction of her
@Bastiat90 .i see so private organisations can do whatever they want\?personally i like fox news, comedy gold.however there is a reason america is such an idiotic, childish country.pathetic hype and showboating is not needed or wanted in the news.
@Bastiat90 Do you want to live in this society or a stupider one?
Do you want someone like Bill O'Reilly sending extremely one-sided and stupid arguments to people in this country?
By the same merit, there should be no problem with people putting a program all about bestiality and rape on at daytime. If you don't want to watch, just change channel. That would offend me just as much as seeing anything like Fox News on British television.
Society is an artificial construct beloved of sociologists; I prefer to live amongst people. I don't want to decide what others choose to watch, listen to or with whom they exchange bodily fluids. None of my fucking business.
First of all: are you comparing Fox News content to bestiality and rape? If you are then you're a moron if you think that constitutes a good argument. If it is actual rape and bestiality, then a crime of aggression has been committed and footage wouldn't be shown
@Bastiat90 Well we all live with people. And there are a lot of us. And there's something called a government that organises us. It's in ours and the governments best interest for society to improve. It's bad for society to have shit like Fox news broadcasted.
The point of the example I used was to demonstrate that if you think that people shouldn't complain about certain things being shown and should just ignore it then this bestiality and rape glorifying show would also be acceptable.
Voluntarily living with people and being forced to are completely different things. Who are you to judge what is good or bad for 'society'? What gives you that expertise.
@Bastiat90 Society is not artificial, it is the totality of human relations, ie how we interact with each other. Unless you're a nomadic loner then you are a part of society and trying to distance yourself from that is merely sherking your responsibility and reliquishing what little control you had to begin with. Multiply this attitude by a few billion and is it any wonder why the world is fucked up?
Society is not the state. That's the problem with socialists when they equate the two and murder anyone who disagrees. Nobody has a responsibility towards society unless they assume one
@Bastiat90 Who said society was the state? I said it was the way in which we interact with each other. Of course we have a certain responsibillity when we perform these interactions, unless of course we're not responsible for our own actions. You're quite right about the socialist dictators though, which is why in academic circles, systems like Stalins or Maos are not seen as socialist but failed attempts at creating a socialist state.
Society is just what we call agglomerations of people; the only binds we have are voluntary unless the state forces them upon is in the name of building the Good Society, the Big Society or some such bollocks. I have responsibilities towards those I choose to have responsibilities towards.
In my opinion, all attempts at a socialist state will fail because it is inimical to human nature. 1917-21 in Russia was pure socialism and it caused a famine
@Bastiat90 So to you "society" and "crowd" are synonymous? A bit of a simplistic view which kind of ignores any economic interelations between people.
1917 was a capitalist revolution lead by socialists. Russia at the time was predominantly feudal, and according to Marx you needed an advanced capitalist state in order to create a socialist "state". Trying to bypass this is what caused the troubles, not the idea of socialism itself. All Lenin did was lay the foundations for state capitalism.
To a libertarian, state capitalism is an oxymoron because we libertarians despise the state in all its manifestations: tax is theft writ large. The state confers huge power on a small number of people. As Lord Acton said, power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
An addendum: Marx praised capitalism for destroying the old feudal order across Europe, which culminated in the uprisings of 1848. He praised its ability to drive forward technological progress and for lifting people out of poverty. He just thought it was one step on the deterministic road towards socialism and the withering of the state.
As Von Mises and Hayek wrote, in a planned economy there exists no mechanism with which to rationally and efficiently set prices. In a market economy, the supply and demand curves of millions of consumers are far more efficient and rational than a committee of planners guided by their own bigotries and biasses. There is no price mechanism in a planned economy, which is why socialism will always fail.
"Reality tells us that state capitalism would be a step forward. If in a small space of time we could achieve state capitalism, that would be a victory." Lenin.
As for Von Mises', he's using backwards price indicators, no different to what we have now, and look how well that's worked out.
I'm a conservative, but I would much rather have a boring, but objective and truthful, news organization than the slanted garbage everyone spouts out today.
This just seems like the average "panel" you'd find on MSNBC here in America. Here, Fox News is biased to the right, and CBS,ABC, PBS, and MSNBC are biased to the left. Both sides are deluded into believing that they are right, while the other side therefore, must be pushing an agenda in it's ignorance. The bias is inescapable, Fox constantly defended Bush, the rest (CBS,ABC,NBC,PBS) constantly defend Obama. They all skew the stories to the point where you just can't get the truth anymore....
@shebzydon Forget the blonde biased bimbos over there. Susanna Reid will do for me, and unlike Conservative Megyn Kelly, I have no idea of the lovely Susanna's political views.
@cbak12sg- Perhaps its best it stays that way. Anyway I was commenting on Megyn Kelly as a source of eye candy. I really despise her character, political views and arrogance.
@dan11009 He was smack-bang in the middle of the phone hacking scandal. He pretty much exposed it and is one of the reasons why NOTW went down. If it wasn't for him, I doubt Murdoch would have been sweating balls in parliament.
How dare Murdoch seek to express his political views that run contrary to yours!
Fox News are a bunch of political hacks, but the mindset that they should be denied a voice because you don't like what they say is just ludicrous, and I agree with the guy who took offense at the idea that Fox should be censored. Grant's fallacy might have won over the crowd, but it didn't win the argument.
@SBFloppie He can express them all he likes, I don't care. The only problem is if he starts to interfere with the politics. If he's giving an interview about how he'd vote, no problem if he uses a multi-million dollar media empire to express how "we" should vote and how "his" politicians should vote then no way.
Corporations are not people, they should not be dictating how "we" the people should vote.
@Fifty1stState Various other celebrities and wealthy people have used their influence and wealth to affect American politics since the nation was founded. I really don't see a difference. Also, you can't say "Murdoch does this" and then say "Corporations shouldn't be able to do that". Murdoch isn't a corporation. Pick one.
Fox News is a business. Their business is putting these talking heads on TV that people will watch so they can sell advertising. The problem is, people watch it.
Rupert wants to make sure everyone knows the ultra-wealthy are looking out for all humanity. You just have to keep paying Rupert & his ultra-wealthy pals by (a) doing as Rupert demands, (b) purchasing RupertCorp. crap & (c) keeping your brain in a deep freeze while you empty your wallet .
@Dendiol well thats just the problem, Murdoch has too much of a stranglhold here bcos we are a smaller country. maybe the media is somewhat less biased (its still kinda bad actually) but the amount of politcal influence he has here compared tot he USA is ridiculous
@Dendiol "Britain is fortunate to have relatively unbiased and impartial media compared to the USA."
There are different forms of biased reporting. The common method in the UK is for example the BBC to spend 4 hours filming a protest and then edit it down to a 10 second clip where the reporter tells you what is going on. The only true unbiased and impartial news media is Euro News "No Comment". If you go to a lot of protests you may see for yourself how biased the media really is.
@Tzimnewman3 He said relatively unbiased. And I don't see how shortening riot footage is showing bias. Fox News is a moron factory and if we had something like this, the British public will get a fuckload stupider and a fuckload more misinformed.
Fox news is so obviously and explicitly stupid and one-sided, in some cases with Bill "the dipshit" O'Reilly TELLING people how to think about a certain issue (and usually in support of seriously stupid shit).
@Tzimnewman3 "4 hours of footage and only a 10 second clip with BBC's opinion of what it was about."
do you expect them to show 4 hours on footage on a newscast?
"I agree Fox news is a bullshit factory. So is the BBC and other media out there who misinform the public."
The BBC is only very slightly biased. Anything ran by humans is. However, it is fairly impartial and shows the facts. By comparison to Fox, it is dwarfed by the sheer amount of explicit bias and stupidity.
@Tzimnewman3 You wouldn't allow porn to be aired on daytime television just by saying that "people have a right to switch channels if they don't like it". For the same reason, abominations like fox should not be allowed.
Btw, we can have freedom. We can have the freedom to not have television coverage. Preventing the broadcast of social poison like fox is not limiting peoples rights.
You will find that if in the name of freedom everything stopped being regulated, things would turn sour quickly
@Tzimnewman3 I said, our country doesn't need television coverage. It's a luxury.
If you promote 'freedom', you must first recognise that there have to be limits. To promote 'freedom', you must also recognise that people like bill o'reilley are trying to change peoples opinions.
A free society as you describe it is no different to anarchy. We need to defend our society from becoming what it's like in the USA
@N64isgreat " I said, our country doesn't need television coverage. It's a luxury."
So why the fuck are you interested in dictating what others can watch on this luxury. If you don't like it don't fucking watch it. Its that fucking simple.
There is no other way to make it clearer to you. Go learn what freedom actually means instead of using your own definitions.
@Tzimnewman3 The point that I was making about television being a luxury is that it not allowing things like fox news does not impede on peoples rights.
The government dicates what things people can and cant do all the time. Why should this be any different? Broadcasting something like fox news would be bad for society and thats why it's kind should not be broadcast to British people. People are gullible and will be influenced by it.
Your definition of freedom is the same as anarchy.
I hope you're being facetious...if not, then like many of my american bros, you are ignorant. Fox news is not fair and balanced--they push the right-wing/rich man's agenda.
@Fifty1stState I, doubt that very much that Glen will hating on you! what do you have to show for? your channel is as crazy as you! posting a picture of Michelle Backman? why? she's American? why don't you post a picture of the queen in her panty's? that will be more UK freek!!
@AurasMakeupBox looks like he make another profile, 2 dislikes now. im not surprised why its taking him soo long to overpass the current 7 likes with his chubby fingers

They don't seen to know much, they re young unskilled and unproffessional.
@meeekors100 Well, said Hugh? is he gay parade? who need his money fox? no one with good intelligence would see what? you right You can't stop fox! but you can stop Murdoch for been a traitor..but don't go over board my English maffin!! fox in fair and balance here in America!! my home sweet home..aloha from Hawaii!!
murdoch=last vestige of resistance to liberal media control, murdoch is simply giving airtime to an opposing point of view, along with plenty of time to the mass media/gov complex liberal(statist) viewpoint....and that tension only occurs on his stations, the rest have sold out and been coopted, and clearly have used more and more sophisticated soft propaganda techniques to create a large swath of the population who swallow the crap whole....
@saltjunkie77 well, not sure that response can be reasoned with, but will grant that it is in keeping with what we are seeing more and more of on hard "news" shows, like hard hitting, urbane Anderson Cooper cracking
jokes about teabagging.....Cronkite must be spinning.....

Bastiat90 1 month ago
@Bastiat90 Interestingly leftists think the BBC is bias towards the rightwing which possibly indicates the BBC is on the whole neutral. Which it is.
davijeph 1 month ago
Hard leftists think it is right wing; but according to the hard left if you're slightly to the right of Lenin then you're a bigoted Tory monster. The BBC is left wing; its 'stars' have admitted as much, including Jeremy Paxman, Andrew Marr etc. Mark Thompson admitted that it suffered and still suffers from left wing bias, and the writer of Yes Minister, Sir Antony Jay, remarked upon its far left bias from the 50s onwards, saying it was opposed to anything to the right of Labour.
Bastiat90 1 month ago
@Bastiat90 I think I'm correct in saying you will also find those within the Beeb who would say it as a right wing bias. The fact remains everybody accuses the BBC of this or that bias. The fact we all know that Fox like the Mail, Sun, Mirror or Guardian all pander to their readers own prejudices do not negate the need for balanced honest unbiased political reporting the BBC on the whole supplies this.
davijeph 1 month ago
Yes but the objective fact remains that the BBC is congenitally left wing. Even God thinks so, and he doesn't have an opinion on anything.
Bastiat90 1 month ago
@Bastiat90 The fact you think you know the mind of God tells me you are congenitally some kind of nut. Bye Bye

Bastiat90 1 month ago
@davijeph Actually, the BBC chief, Mark Thompson, has admitted that there is a left-wing bias at the BBC.
mikesheen741 2 weeks ago
@mikesheen741 Well, I think it's well known that Thompson is a bit of a right winger himself so he would say that wouldn't he?
davijeph 2 weeks ago
@davijeph If he was a right winger himself then he wouldn't let it go ahead.
mikesheen741 2 weeks ago
@mikesheen741 Isn't that the point if he was a right winger then he would stop it, if left wing bias was their. It is very rare to hear from any BBC journalist or reporter and certainly when it comes to current affairs programmes any bias to the left or the right . I just don't think it's their unless the viewer is himself so bias he would takes any action or comment the criticises his political believes as BBC bias.
davijeph 2 weeks ago
@mikesheen741 that would be left wing bias that lied in a live broadcast about uk uncut protest in that store as being disruptive and violent.when it was nothing of the sort..

@Bastiat90
We can't allow television stations to operate under the umbrella of 'news' if they present and promote a particular political agenda, whatever it may be. If a channel with political leanings like that of Fox News emerged in the U.K., don't you agree they should not be banned, but rather forced to promote themselves under the banner of 'debate' or 'talk'?
tristessa56079 1 month ago
No; if it is privately owned it is free to promote whatever it wants. One of the biggest myths perpetuated by its opponents is that it tells it viewers what to think; Fox simply comfirms its viewers' biases. That's why it's the biggest news channel in America despite its youth.
Fox News does have debate platforms; Hannity does his show with Colmes, Bill O'Reilly often interviews leftists and is much more balanced than Hannity, Beck etc.
Bastiat90 1 month ago
@Bastiat90
Which is why I said there should probably be a distinction between 'news' and 'debate'.
tristessa56079 1 month ago
Have you ever watched it? Fox does have a rolling news stream and a Fox Extra service which focusses on local news. Most of its shows are opinion shows based on current affairs and news, so the Fox News moniker is justified in my view.
Bastiat90 1 month ago
@Bastiat90 thats not balanced fool.andrew marr has never said or paxman.marr said the bbc is cuturally biased but not politically. fox news is a joke.it can promote whatever t wants?so if wanted to promote anti gay slogans or pro muslims slogans or communist prpoganda or whatever ideology.school of thought it should be allowed?lol britain has fallen in the world but not as low as america, but we are getting there because f people like you.

N64isgreat 4 weeks ago
Society is an artificial construct beloved of sociologists; I prefer to live amongst people. I don't want to decide what others choose to watch, listen to or with whom they exchange bodily fluids. None of my fucking business.
First of all: are you comparing Fox News content to bestiality and rape? If you are then you're a moron if you think that constitutes a good argument. If it is actual rape and bestiality, then a crime of aggression has been committed and footage wouldn't be shown
Bastiat90 4 weeks ago
@Bastiat90 Well we all live with people. And there are a lot of us. And there's something called a government that organises us. It's in ours and the governments best interest for society to improve. It's bad for society to have shit like Fox news broadcasted.
The point of the example I used was to demonstrate that if you think that people shouldn't complain about certain things being shown and should just ignore it then this bestiality and rape glorifying show would also be acceptable.

@Bastiat90 "Who are you to judge what is good or bad for 'society'? What gives you that expertise." - common sense.
N64isgreat 3 weeks ago
@Bastiat90 Society is not artificial, it is the totality of human relations, ie how we interact with each other. Unless you're a nomadic loner then you are a part of society and trying to distance yourself from that is merely sherking your responsibility and reliquishing what little control you had to begin with. Multiply this attitude by a few billion and is it any wonder why the world is fucked up?
DaKrazyKatt 3 weeks ago
Society is not the state. That's the problem with socialists when they equate the two and murder anyone who disagrees. Nobody has a responsibility towards society unless they assume one
Bastiat90 3 weeks ago
@Bastiat90 Who said society was the state? I said it was the way in which we interact with each other. Of course we have a certain responsibillity when we perform these interactions, unless of course we're not responsible for our own actions. You're quite right about the socialist dictators though, which is why in academic circles, systems like Stalins or Maos are not seen as socialist but failed attempts at creating a socialist state.
DaKrazyKatt 3 weeks ago
Society is just what we call agglomerations of people; the only binds we have are voluntary unless the state forces them upon is in the name of building the Good Society, the Big Society or some such bollocks. I have responsibilities towards those I choose to have responsibilities towards.
In my opinion, all attempts at a socialist state will fail because it is inimical to human nature. 1917-21 in Russia was pure socialism and it caused a famine
Bastiat90 3 weeks ago
@Bastiat90 So to you "society" and "crowd" are synonymous? A bit of a simplistic view which kind of ignores any economic interelations between people.
1917 was a capitalist revolution lead by socialists. Russia at the time was predominantly feudal, and according to Marx you needed an advanced capitalist state in order to create a socialist "state". Trying to bypass this is what caused the troubles, not the idea of socialism itself. All Lenin did was lay the foundations for state capitalism.
DaKrazyKatt 3 weeks ago
Russia wasn't capitalist prior to 1917: it was a kleptocracy, as it was after 1917.
Bastiat90 3 weeks ago
@Bastiat90 It was predominatly feudal prior to the revolution. After that it built towards state capitalism
DaKrazyKatt 3 weeks ago
To a libertarian, state capitalism is an oxymoron because we libertarians despise the state in all its manifestations: tax is theft writ large. The state confers huge power on a small number of people. As Lord Acton said, power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Bastiat90 3 weeks ago
An addendum: Marx praised capitalism for destroying the old feudal order across Europe, which culminated in the uprisings of 1848. He praised its ability to drive forward technological progress and for lifting people out of poverty. He just thought it was one step on the deterministic road towards socialism and the withering of the state.
Bastiat90 3 weeks ago
As Von Mises and Hayek wrote, in a planned economy there exists no mechanism with which to rationally and efficiently set prices. In a market economy, the supply and demand curves of millions of consumers are far more efficient and rational than a committee of planners guided by their own bigotries and biasses. There is no price mechanism in a planned economy, which is why socialism will always fail.
Bastiat90 3 weeks ago
@Bastiat90 And Lenin himself knew this
"Reality tells us that state capitalism would be a step forward. If in a small space of time we could achieve state capitalism, that would be a victory." Lenin.
As for Von Mises', he's using backwards price indicators, no different to what we have now, and look how well that's worked out.

Fox News are a bunch of political hacks, but the mindset that they should be denied a voice because you don't like what they say is just ludicrous, and I agree with the guy who took offense at the idea that Fox should be censored. Grant's fallacy might have won over the crowd, but it didn't win the argument.
SBFloppie 3 months ago
@SBFloppie He can express them all he likes, I don't care. The only problem is if he starts to interfere with the politics. If he's giving an interview about how he'd vote, no problem if he uses a multi-million dollar media empire to express how "we" should vote and how "his" politicians should vote then no way.
Corporations are not people, they should not be dictating how "we" the people should vote.

Tzimnewman3 1 month ago
@Tzimnewman3 He said relatively unbiased. And I don't see how shortening riot footage is showing bias. Fox News is a moron factory and if we had something like this, the British public will get a fuckload stupider and a fuckload more misinformed.
Fox news is so obviously and explicitly stupid and one-sided, in some cases with Bill "the dipshit" O'Reilly TELLING people how to think about a certain issue (and usually in support of seriously stupid shit).
N64isgreat 4 weeks ago
@N64isgreat "And I don't see how shortening riot footage is showing bias"
4 hours of footage and only a 10 second clip with BBC's opinion of what it was about.
" Fox News is a moron factory and if we had something like this, the British public will get a fuckload stupider and a fuckload more misinformed"
I agree Fox news is a bullshit factory. So is the BBC and other media out there who misinform the public.
Public have a right to switch channels if they don't like it.
Tzimnewman3 4 weeks ago
@Tzimnewman3 "4 hours of footage and only a 10 second clip with BBC's opinion of what it was about."
do you expect them to show 4 hours on footage on a newscast?
"I agree Fox news is a bullshit factory. So is the BBC and other media out there who misinform the public."
The BBC is only very slightly biased. Anything ran by humans is. However, it is fairly impartial and shows the facts. By comparison to Fox, it is dwarfed by the sheer amount of explicit bias and stupidity.
N64isgreat 3 weeks ago
@Tzimnewman3 You wouldn't allow porn to be aired on daytime television just by saying that "people have a right to switch channels if they don't like it". For the same reason, abominations like fox should not be allowed.
Btw, we can have freedom. We can have the freedom to not have television coverage. Preventing the broadcast of social poison like fox is not limiting peoples rights.
You will find that if in the name of freedom everything stopped being regulated, things would turn sour quickly
N64isgreat 3 weeks ago
@N64isgreat "You wouldn't allow porn to be aired on daytime television...For the same reason, abominations like fox should not be allowed."
I believe in Freedom and so I have no problems with porn being shown on the tv. As you point out "we can have the freedom to not have a television"
"Preventing the broadcast of social poison like fox is not limiting peoples rights."
That is mine and your opinion still we have no right to impose our belief on others in a free society.
Tzimnewman3 3 weeks ago
@Tzimnewman3 I said, our country doesn't need television coverage. It's a luxury.
If you promote 'freedom', you must first recognise that there have to be limits. To promote 'freedom', you must also recognise that people like bill o'reilley are trying to change peoples opinions.
A free society as you describe it is no different to anarchy. We need to defend our society from becoming what it's like in the USA
N64isgreat 3 weeks ago
@N64isgreat " I said, our country doesn't need television coverage. It's a luxury."
So why the fuck are you interested in dictating what others can watch on this luxury. If you don't like it don't fucking watch it. Its that fucking simple.
There is no other way to make it clearer to you. Go learn what freedom actually means instead of using your own definitions.
Tzimnewman3 3 weeks ago
@Tzimnewman3 The point that I was making about television being a luxury is that it not allowing things like fox news does not impede on peoples rights.
The government dicates what things people can and cant do all the time. Why should this be any different? Broadcasting something like fox news would be bad for society and thats why it's kind should not be broadcast to British people. People are gullible and will be influenced by it.
Your definition of freedom is the same as anarchy.
