Well said - I've always been open to all my emotions - we are 'holistic' beings, so to shut off any element of ourselves is to deny ourselves huge chunks of our life experience :-)
Ok, I'm glad to see males, discussing this integration. The vilification of emotion as something less than, something weak, something primitive, something feminine, something counterproductive would easily explain the escalated levels of violence, murder and warfare. Repress all emotions except lust & anger, you really don't have many options for emoitional release. It's all ONE brain, ONE body. The neurochemical responses occur in one place; they cannot be compartmentalized healthfully
@rriverstone1 Healthfully. That's a very important aspect of it. Femeninity has been relegated arbitrarily to the body of a single sex. Femeninity has been given the task of the keeper of those emotions, and masculinity the keeper of another set of emotions as though those emotions were imbued with charateristics best not mixed. Yet, I've witnessed the strength of women that I've stood in admiration before. The construct needs untangling. Passion is powerful. Empathy is strength; it may bond us.
ACK! U mumble 2 far from mic! I gotta get on my netbook to hear this ! My pc's motor is louder than u r!...watching later! u r cute but u sound like a giant mumble
No problem, it was well deserved. I definitely agree that we do a great disservice to ourselves with this false dichotomy. We must learn to embrace all the tools at our disposal in the attempt to create a better, more just, and more humane society and a happier and more fulfilling life for us as individuals. And, for me, that's what I want my life to be about. Excellent vid. Take care, brother. Peace.
