This happened to me and i could never finish the game :( i didnt feel like replaying through the whole game. So i never finished past that part. Kinda sucks

@TheDarkFlame09 unless it can be replicated on all copies, no, anyway, I'd have to at least get the wooden statue in the whole quest, I can't map glitch to Hidden Village early, or else I'll never be able to get the Horse Call from Ilia--she doesn't respond to the charm unless she's responded to the wooden statue first.

No, I think it would have to be replicated. Otherwise people would purposely damage their games in the hopes of triggering some sort of beneficial glitch. If they're dumb.

This SO supports my idea that some memory data location got screwed up. It's like the trigger for text in certain encounters got moved to what their next line of text when you talk to them would be. Shad is supposed to have regular lines, but instead starts a cutscene. Impaz has a cutscene, but repeats regular text. Coincidence?

@Pixlization No, I haven't, my last save in the LP was Snowpeak, at which my memory card corrupted. We've been doing so much testing with these triggers today, going to Hidden Village with map glitch, warping around, seeing what triggers what. The entire quest is a mess if you talk to shad first.

@brynnagiadrosich So it might just be that skip that makes it... That, or the GameCube version with the glitch? I could try it on the Wii version, but I doubt that would take so short a time... Heh.

So, what are you planning on doing with it? Exploring more with the glitch? You did say that you hadn't saved it in the LP file after the Temple of Time right, or was that just the all Hidden Skills file?

It would suck if you couldn't continue...

@Pixlization we figured out that if you don't talk to shad before anything, you can do the quest as normal, but as soon as we get the horse call, we can go down and talk to shad, skipping the runes part. They aren't needed anyway, so this is useful for my speedrun. It's unfortunate that I can't skip most of it though, such as just go straight to hidden village, get the charm, then show Ilia to get the horse call. She doesn't respond to the charm at all until you've done everything else.

@brynnagiadrosich Ah, so you'll just be left with a dead Dominion Rod? But that's fine, I think, since you only need it for heart pieces after the Temple of Time.... I think.

Also for your speedrun, doesn't it take longer to do the skip (I haven't watched how to do it), and kill enemies with the wooden sword? So if it's true that the skip caused this glitch, you would have to do it to skip the runes. And if it does that longer to use the wooden sword, then it.... Takes longer. Redundancy ftw.

@Pixlization well...yeah, I'm not gonna use the wooden sword in my speedrun. I figured that was obvious. I wouldn't do the shield sword skip in my run, because I need them for 100%. I can skip the wooden sword, because that doesn't stay in inventory.

I have the route all figured out and tested. The runes are the only things that can be skipped in this whole sidequest, but that's still a pretty decent chunk of it.

We're still not 100% sure what triggers the Shad glitchiness, but skipping the Ordon sword is the most likely reason.

You can skip the runes even in a normal playthrough by clipping through the statue. For 100%, you have to gain access to the Hidden Village for the stuffs there (or map glitch into it, but then if you do this, Ilia doesn't respond to the charm and you can't get the horse whistle). So the runes are the only skippable part.

@brynnagiadrosich Oh yes, I apologize for my stupidity, I forgot that even if you do the sword skip, you can still get the Master Sword. But clipping through the statue works too.

Gotta say though, the trigger glitches are pretty funny.
