Honestly when I first heard this I heard the New Super Mario Bros Wii castle theme about a day afterwards. And one part of that song around 20 seconds in for some reason reminded me of the Super Mario World castle theme and since this song was still stuck in my head I decided to try to make lyrics about Not Roy to that one part. Honestly all I thought of was "People are being dense right now, because this is a castle...But it's not Roy's one" And then I got that own thing stuck in my own head...

Out of curiosity, is this based on the GBA version's music? (The relative volume of the different sections, to me, resembles the GBA version more than the SNES version...)

@Zeldara109 That's really interesting! It wasn't consciously based on the GBA version, and it was definitely the SNES original I was playing when I first came up with it, (actually that's not quite true, it was the very slightly altered version of the game from the Mario All Stars + Mario World cart,) BUT, the GBA version certainly would have been the most recent version I'd played, so there may well be an influence I'm unaware of. Which parts sound like the GBA version to you? I'm fascinated.

The high-pitched part at 0:39...

And the emphasis on the up-down part that begins at 1:02...

All of those sound like the GBA instruments more than they do the SNES ones. (And when playing the GBA version, unlike the SNES version, I sometimes unintentionally hear "Not Roy" without even trying...)

By the way, I've made a SMW hack level that has a different take on "Not Roy's Castle"...

Congratulations, you've inspired me to write a sequel to one of the greatest a Capella songs on YouTube. Once I finish it, maybe I'll upload the original piece of music with lyrics, but I won't sing it. I prefer to spare the world from my disastrous voice than give people an idea of what it may sound like :P
