  • Stevie Ray Vaughn and Dick Dales version AKA The Evil Pipeline is also really good. Different enough that the two are not comparable.

  • The best version of Pipeline is the original by the Chanteys. Their version changes slightly from beginning to end. In my opinion the slight difference is enough to make it great, not just good.

  • satan sorted

  • satan sorted merry winter to you all.

  • Gnarley dude! Space surfing the rings of Saturn!!

Cassini Division? I thought that was the main groove!!!

  • I like astronomy and I like the 60's music!! Thanks klaxonklaxon you made my day!!!!

  • so many people played this song but no one can beat the ventures.

  • @NoTimeLikethePast

So why are you being such a fucking whiny bitch about it?

  • Excelent video! I bet they got the idea for record albums by looking at Saturn...

  • Les Ventures sont les meilleurs. Bravo Klaxonklaxon.

  • i can play the whole song on guitar, and i love playing it :D..and im 15, unlikely music for a 15 year old :P

  • this is so amazing

i love this song and the band

    it is such great music

    cool video too, very 60's

  • @Aragorndesnordens You can join the underground fire club as well, it;s free! I'm in it!

  • watch the chantays play PIPELINE on lawrence welk video ...very tight arrangement ...live ...PIPELINE was to be called 44 magnum but they changed it and surfing had a new anthem ...

  • The Ventures had a way of taking a song that some one else wrote and making it sing so damn good. Rock on guys.

  • Yeah its hard to tell whico version is the best. both are awesome. the same goes for the song telstar. the original by the tornadoes or the ventures. All a person can say is tha the Ventures were the greatest cover band of all time.

  • Greatest song in the history of the universe!

  • I agree that "Pipeline" is one of the greatest. I never felt like any band ever squeezed everything from the song. I have over 200 different artists performing this song, and some of them come pretty close.

  • Hearing this takes me back 30+ years. The Ventures were my Dad's favorite band, and I grew up listening to this version on 33 1/3. Ahh, memories.

Bass line and guitar intro are EPIC!! Music isn't made like this anymore.

  • Wonderful picking from Nokie and Don.

  • only kinda big hit? don't think so.

  • interstellar overdrive => pink floyd

    pipeline => the ventures

  • There's no stars, and there's UFO's o.o

  • Yeah - beautiful visuals and immortal music. Thanks, love it.

  • Very cool dude!

  • i just learned this song on guitar!!!!!

  • This song is fun to play every time!

  • cool :) im 12 and im learnin this song atm

  • Nice.

  • They used to play this song at the Omni Theater in Fort Worth.

  • They Rock

  • this is the best & original pipeline by the ventures. i played this music backhome in the 60s with my homemade 1 pick-up electric guitar and it sounds like galvanized rock & roll. i was just 16 years old back then ;) thank you the ventures :)

  • Dick Dale and the Chanteys originally wrote and performed 'Pipeline'. The Ventures picked it up later.

    I still love both versions!

  • The Chantays wrote it and had the origianl hit, but Dick Dale was not part of the Band! Both The Chantays and Ventures versions ROCK!

  • 2ifbyCsharp,

Yes and no. The Chantays did this without Dick Dale. There were many recorded versions by the Ventures and this was **their** first and best version, hence amklon2clark's comment, "best and **original version by the Ventures**." (my asterisks). I also played it in the 60s and it was a tough song to play solo.

  • Best cover of this song yet. the ventures rock I love this song.

  • gracias klaxsonklaxson,por este pedo....saludos...

  • solid tune

  • This is probably the first rock and roll song I fell in love with -- and my love is still strong.

  • Klaxon, Tremendous. Only thing missing, is the "Starship ENTERPRISE" not NX-01, But NCC-1701.=Stefan=

  • Maybe the best of the Ventures, always loved this piece, thanks for uploading this!

  • thanks for uploading this!

  • Thanks for the comment,it came off the album 'Surfing' by the Ventures first released in 1963

  • Thx, Klaxonklaxon! Best of the Ventures & *any* guitar riff with unbelievable beat & freakin' bass makes this a true classic!

  • absolutely amzing! The living 60s! Is this version of the song self played or is it released on cd? It's the best interpretation i ever heard. Any recommendations?

  • excellent quality vid

  • Thanks, that was great. Isn't life in the universe amazing.

  • The Ventures truly in space. Bravo!
