  • actually,

mandocello & bouzouki are significantly different--- the 'cello is pitched way lower----tuned just like a violin cello with the same low C

bouzouki is tuned (somewhat variously) in the octave mandolin range

  • mandocello and bazouki are two names for the same intrument

  • Wonderful, thanks for posting!

  • i want one of those big mandolins. whats it called?

  • a mandocello

  • an octave mandolin i think

  • its either an octave mandolin or bazouki........a little too small to be a mandocello

  • It's a Mandocello because Mike says so in the broadcast.

  • Yeah, he's playing a Mandola at first, then switches to Mandocello. My mistake.

  • the first one mike is playing is a mandola. the second is a mandocello (very rare instrument).

  • Hmm, I really only came here to find out how to pronounce "Hualalai," but this music is pretty good.

  • Yeah, this video is worth downloading on woodsongs. It is the most inspiring 2 hours of mandolin ever.

  • so true -_-

  • It is incredible. I think my favorite is their performance of Mike's tune "Gator Strut". Chris's solo is mind-blowing.

  • AGREED on that one!

  • Great - Loved it!
