mandocello & bouzouki are significantly different--- the 'cello is pitched way lower----tuned just like a violin cello with the same low C
bouzouki is tuned (somewhat variously) in the octave mandolin range

It's a Mandocello because Mike says so in the broadcast.

Yeah, he's playing a Mandola at first, then switches to Mandocello. My mistake.
the first one mike is playing is a mandola. the second is a mandocello (very rare instrument).

It is incredible. I think my favorite is their performance of Mike's tune "Gator Strut". Chris's solo is mind-blowing.
