Hey Marlon, wasn't this on Late One Night? Or was it previously issued internationally on Along The Way? Just asking...anyhow, so nice to hear this again! Thanx again , my friend!!
You hit the hammer on the nail!! It came on in 1989 on the"Late One Night"CD & 2000 on the"Along The Way"CD. It good to see a Dan Siegel fan, a lot of people never heard of him. But I'm into his old stuff, when he changed his sound he kinda pushed me away from his new music. If you go back to this video and read the comment that GDelva2003 made about the critics comments, I think that's the smokin gun to his music change. To me that's what makes Dan his synthesizers, PERIOD!!!
@hsmarlon Yeah, I guess every artist has their purist type of fanbase. To me, though, Dan is a keyboardist, which seems more versatile, as opposed to just a pianist. But I do also love a good piano, always have. Myself, I'm a drummer/percussionist, but I can't imagine a keyboardist that wouldn't occasionally tackle a synthesizer, especially during the 80s! Have to admit, though, I'm not really that up on Dan, but what I've heard over the years I've loved. Late One Night really takes me back!!!
Can you believe some people (Especially the reviewers of the Amazon website) don't like the Dan Siegel of the 80's? They say because he used alot of synthesizers at that time. They feel that synthesizers isn't apart of today's music. Well I disagree because I like his stuff from from the 80's Especially his albums "Short Stories" and "Another Time, Another Place".
No, I haven't heard that before. I have to disagree with them. Too me that's what made his music. But everyone has an opinion just like mine. 5***** to Dan Siegel's on his 80's music.
@hsmarlon I love the outro on this song, the rest of the song is amazing, but for some reason that outro just...can't describe it. I like Northern Nights and Another Time, Another Place, very cool songs.
Hey James. Thx again for the comments. I just posted 2 jams by Dan. Another Time, Another Place with scenes, and Late One Night. I hope you enjoy them. Marlon
Amazing song, I didn't know who Dan Siegel was until I heard this song late last year, and I love smooth jazz! I now have three of his (hard to find) cd's, including the one that this song is on. Great stuff, this song transports you to another place...thanks for posting!
@James7899 Hey, James I'm with you. Dan Siegel has put out some nice music. I like his '80's music more than his new stuff. Your quote, " This song transports you to another place", man you're not lying. Another good one that took me 18yrs to find by Dan is "Northern Nights", man that's a jam I always get off into. But, thx for coming on to my site and feel free to subscribe and tell your friends about my channel. Peace. Marlon

@hsmarlon
Exactly. That's why whenever I buy music online I try not to read the reviews.
