I love this.

She doesn't have to go mad and run around - she just stood there.

Yet there is so much passion and power in it, the beauty of the voice rings true, and Devia is the last still living to be able to do that, perhaps the other one is Gruberova, after people like Dessay or especially Netrebko who runs around a lot, it's nice to see people who can actually sing and just sing, there is no need for the unconventional or revolutionary staging, the music is self-fulfilling.

So what do we think, is the upgrade to the larger HD video format worth the extra effort? Overall it takes about 3x longer for me to convert and upload HD versus standard. In some respects I am happy with the HD, and in other respects I am not sure.... just wanted some feedback.

I have the impression it depends on the original source. For this Bolena the upgarde is definitely woth the effort, in my opinion. Some other clips, like Semiramide, do actually look slightly stretched.

Yes, any video that is in the standard 4:3 is going to be stretched to fit these 16:9 HD aspect ratios. This Bolena clip is stretched also, the only one that is not is the Maria Stuarda which was already in 16:9. My first thought was the videos looked distorted, I was not as impressed as I thought I would be.
