CLASSIC! See, even Seinfeld knew Bugs & Tweety rocked on Saturday mornings back in the day. :-) ABC Saturday mornings in the early-90's, nothing better!
"You know, it is so sad: all your knowledge of high culture comes from Bugs Bunny cartoons." And all my knowledge of high culture comes from Seinfeld referencing Bugs Bunny cartoons. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Lol The Opera is one of the best episodes IMO, Crazy Joe Davola is such a great character. All of the build-up from earlier episodes with him just climaxes here with him as the clown, soooo funny. "I'm gonna put the kibosh on YOU Jerry!"
I know they filmed before an audience in some scenes, but in others (outside of Jerry's apartment, usually) they didn't... although, I can't say whether or not the shows were played in front of an audience in order to collect the laughter. Either way, I know "Seinfeld" used it. :)
I think most outside scenes, and some complicated location bits (e.g. the parking garage), were filmed without an audience, but for some important, plot-heavy outside scenes that were very long, they stuck a bleacher behind the camera crew and filmed with an audience (e.g. the parking space).
And they most probably used recordings of laughter at the actual episode, because the laughter in Seinfeld is notably varied according to the details of the scene in question.
you know, on the Subway episode, near the end when Jerry and Elaine and Kramer are in the coffe shop, and Elaine is acting all pissy, Jerry says "So you missed the wedding. You catch the briss!" Elaine glares at him, and puts her head down, youll notice that she does start to laugh!
Bugs Bunny had a full orchestra at its disposal back in the day. I think a lot of people have learned more about culture than they would have... *grins*
One of the best moments of the show and I disagree with Elaine on the high culture part because that's how I know most of the classical music today is from Bugs Bunny cartoons.
@darthgoku135 she is probably into Disney cartoons haha

I loved Seinfeld, but looking back at it I wish NBC would cool it with the laugh tracks.

@nysp Pavarotti was an opera singer, famously singing this song, but Leoncavallo is the composer.
