  • This is awesome!

Not many people recognise the work of fire fighters. They give em a pat on the back, and move on..

It's great to see there are some out there who aren't blind to the work of fire fighters.

As a wa fire fighter myself, things like this make doing what we do, worth it =)

    thanks so much guys.

  • Its about over 3000 people a year die in fires a year.

Its about 100 firefighter deaths a year.

  • Thanks every one, my crew and i agree that videos like this and people saying thank you make the job even more worth while.

  • In the Victorian bushfires over 300 people were killed in the fires in Australia. Many firefighters risked their lives and some lost their lives in the huge flames, and without the firefighters THOUSANDS of people would of been killed. When I am older I am going to become a firefighter, I am 14 right now.

I want to say thank you to all firefighters, which are soon to be my brothers and colleuges!

  • tonyb do u even know what it is like to b in hells mouth evidently not cus it dont matter how careful u r things happen

  • Ummm yes, and things happen is EXACTALY my point...

So why wasnt most people prepared for the "things happen"? apperpathy, and we will see it again in 20 or so years....

  • most people don't think like firefighters. They don't see all the potential fire hazards that we see and maybe instead of complaining about it why don't you start up an awarness program and educate the public on potential fire hazards.

  • See where your coming from tobybismyname but I think your eating your words now after the worst week of Australians lives.

  • am a volunteer its good to see someone notices what we do for a living and cares about us

  • It isnt as dangerous as you might think, only a fool or someone that doesnt no what is happeniong will get in to trouble, so it is strange the CFA have such a high casuality rate, (when they stuff up, they do it big time. As for 25 people die from fire each year, it isnt from bushfires in Oz, you have to be making that one up. Maybe housefires, but not bushfires. People do get killed at bushfires, dozer roll overs, falling trees. They are the danger (25yrs exp)

  • almost 200 people died in February this year in 'oz'

you're exactly right 'only someone who didn't know what was going on would get into trouble' people didn't know the fire was coming til it was on their doorstep,

it wasn't cos of stupidity, I'd say you wrote that comment because of stupidity though

  • 3 weeks of over 40 degrees, 10 years into a drought, and you say people diddnt no it was comming, lol.... Sorry youd have to be stupid not to recognise what was about to happen. Mother nature was warning people. again 3 weeks over 40.

Some people are stupid! PS, it will happen again, people are to silly to learn.

  • dude have some respect, people come here to pay tribute to those that lost their lives not to hear you going on about how stupid everyone was.

  • Hey the Feb 09 fires started in Feb 09. This thread started 2 years ago, (2007) so im not sure why people are coming here to pay tribute to those unlucky enough to be in the way of that fire, stupid or otherwise. And it was you that started the stupidity comment (you silly girl) :-).

(you shouldnt comment on things you obvisoly no nothing about)....

  • fire is fire. this is paying tribute to firefighters who fight those fires... not to one fire in particular. by your logic this video isn't for the firefighters that fought in the feb fires, i think it is.

and if you have a look at my comment referring to the feb 09 fires, you already replied. don't get ahead of yourself.

I'm sure if you put it to the vote, comments saying how stupid people are for being burnt to death in a bush fire will get gong for most stupid.

  • Well we will just have to wait for the royal commission to finish wont we, then we can see what lessons can be lernt. (remember ash wednesday) did people learn? Some did, most diddnt (it now seems)

But people being people, will let this all happen again. Been there done that. Get over it!

  • no offense, but maybe a bit more research... otherwise good vid.

  • from a vol fire fighter i thankyou for your video its great to see that we are appreciated it makes what we do worth while when we see this appreciation from the community thankyou

  • Thank you for putting this video on here. As a volunteer fireman it makes me feel good that other people appreciate what we do. I hope everyone that sees this will find a way to support their home town Fire Department. See you on the fire ground......

    Firefighter in Pennsylvania.

  • Thank You So Much for this video! It really does mean everything when people remember that most of us don't get paid one dime to do the job.

Volunteer/Career, male/female, black/white, what does it matter..brotherhood means brotherhood. GOD BLESS!

  • hi there as a cfa vol myself who was at the lastyear bushfires several times, it means so much to me to see video's like this, even just the comments saying thanks cfa, why do u need to get paid as a firefighter when money really cant bring you that amount of pleasure, thankyou everyone

  • Well done. A fantastic video. As a firefighter, i would like to say thank you very much for your support. If it was not for the support from our communities, love we have for our communities, would not be enough for us to protect them. We all need to do our bit in times or need, some just go an extra step. Again thank you very much.

  • my mum lives there in the NE . and i would like to say a very thanks to all the cfa volls . and everbodt else who were there

  • Thankyou for an excellent vid, just remember people support your brigades before the fires happen, without your finacial supprt we dont have the equiptment to look after you as best we can. SUPPORT CFA

  • thank you
